Hamilton County prosecutor Joe Deters complimented the officer's "bravery," but the officer himself said he was banned from the bank where it happened. The bank claims this is a misunderstanding.
He "violated Key Bank policy of giving robbers what they want." The officer did not work for Key Bank and thus was not bound by their policy. End of story.
Not only did he defend those people's lives but he did society a favor by helping get this man off the streets. I hope EVERYONE who banks there takes there banking elsewhere.
He's NOT required to adhere to their "policy" as he doesn't work for them. He IS required to adhere to his oath to "serve and protect" and unlike many officers these days ( Uvalde) he is a credit to his badge. A hero.
You are missing the point of why that policy exists. Most robberies end up with 0 deaths and often times even no ijuries if you comply because for robber shooting someone just gives extra sentence if caught and extra priority for law enforcement to find the now murderer. By not complying with an armed robber you put not only yourself but also everyone else in the area in a lot higher risk of getting hurt/killed. Unless you have a guaranteed way to stop the robbery with absolutely no risk of them opening fire at civilians, you let them go and let the law enforcement deal with the situation later on. What this cop did could have easily escalated into both the bank's employee and the police officer getting shot. An absolutely unnecessary risk just to stop someone from stealing money
So you've but your little paragraph not realizing that if the cop did nothing he would be publicly shamed and possible charged for not doing anything in an active crime scene
Except you forget their customers didn't do anything wrong to deserve that lack of service. What if a friend or co-worker was in that bank or any Key Bank in the US?

I don't use Keybank, but for other reasons. When I wasn't financially stable, they had this habit of "holding" all transactions for days at a time. And then, if I happened to overdraw my account, they would re-order the transactions in whichever order would cause the most fees. The one that really took the cake, though, was when I had a hold placed on my account for over $200, which took my account down to less than $20. Then, I went to walmart, and overdrew my account. I got charged that fee, and then, because they processed the $200 AFTER the overdraft, they charged me one for that one too. When I asked about it, they said that it's because they "already took the $200 out of the account, and that's why walmart got the fee. I used to work in a bank... and yes the industry wide policy is to not call the police until the robber is out of the bank for fear that it will make the situation worse. Most robberies take less than 5 minutes, usually involves a note with no gun drawn. The robbers wants to be in and out as fast as possible. Sometimes fellow bank employees don't even realize a robbery had taken place until after it's over. That being said, this situation shows the robber walked in with his gun in the air, which suggests this would be a "take-over robbery", a much worse and dangerous situation. The bank was luck the officer was there and he did the right thing. We’re butchering the language at this point. We are witnessing this “suspect” in the act of committing a crime. He’s more than a suspect, he’s an inch away from being irrefutably guilty. Change the word suspect to something more accurate. He’s a ‘Likely’ or a ‘Probably’ not a ‘Maybe’. We’re using weak language designed to soften the impact of the hard truth. Expect this problem to get worse over time as people are becoming more easily offended each passing year.

For one, had someone else been hit, i.e. an innocent bystander, the cop would NOT be legally, criminally or otherwise civilly responsible you fucking pussy. If all three of them die, the driver will be charged with murder by association. Just like if I'm walking down the street and some dumbass tried to rob me, forcing me to draw my firearm and stop them, if another person is accidentally shot, wounded or killed it is NOT on me nor am I at fault in any way. All charges, criminal and civil will fall on the criminal who instigated the issue to begin with. When push comes to shove WE THE PEOPLE will see whose corrupt, and whose not And at that point, much like Nobunaga, we fight.... It is inevitable in human nature cause stupid people are on the same par as corrupt people, ^ the hardest pill to swallow cause someone turning a blind eye is just as bad as commiting the crime, especially when it comes to fling with freedom and human rights Like the Democrats / Republicans are currently doing while the people "vote" for it
@@burn64 You are 💯 correct, you and your dad are true American patriots, poor people who are victims of their environment will rob a bank and they will get shot by the police because those robbers act out of desperation chosen not to follow the teachings of the Bible, only the middle class legal gun owners ex-police and ex-military that hate government and corporate corruption can only form a militia to defend the middle class hard workers as well as the lazy uneducated homeless and poor people they make bad decisions but they need a voice and only the middle class can pick up arms and fight for what is right because the poor are stuck in their situation of drugs and misery, we might not see eye to eye on everything but if you give me a gun and a uniform not the uniform of the police but a uniform of the Lord's military then I will take my oath as a law abiding citizen seriously but we would fight very bravely and die very quickly, let us pray for peace but by all means do not let them take our guns away, if the poor can put down their drugs and the middle class can put down their prejudice and join forces then there will be a army that would be too big to ignor, also our president is a freaking idiot there is a lot of money to be made in China and Russia, Soviet style communism is dead and socialism is nothing more than helping the poor, food stamps and social security is not hurting anyone but if the middle class can unionize and get power back from the corporate then the means of production can spread across all classes and capitalism can be accessed to everyone who is willing to work hard for their bread.
The money is insured. That's why they said to just let them take it. It's easier to file an insurance claim with the stolen cash than to deal with possible casualties because some big headed cop decided to step in without any backup.
@@RevvyP - “Big Headed Cop” no. The robber had a gun and threatened lives. Clearly he needed to be killed. People like you will lead to a socialist country & not one free person. No one would have guns if we had it your way right? Please think before you type.
because that isnt the way they wanna protect their customers.. to them they feel like if the officer wasn't there it wouldn't have been no shooting which customers were there.. I can see the bank pov but the officer had a job to do.. The bank feels like as long as they are compliance then no one shouldn't get hurt.. well it doesn't always go that way..
All you people bitching about the bank have low common sense. The reason they don't want a shoot out as was the case due to the dumb ass cop is simply because anyone shot by mistake can Sue the bank fools. Cops kill people on the daily and even when they are wrong they get away with murder. The bank has to much liability. What do you think that if the robber shot someone even by mistake the bank wouldn't suffer? Not the cop the banks insurance which is already supper high would suffer higher rates. The shitty paper/cotton with inc on it which is worthless fiat currency to begin with morons the little amount that they give out is nothing in comparison to someone being hurt and the business the bank having to pay for more insurance and someone possibly getting killed not by the cop but by people that are not used to handling a weapon correctly. End of story wake up idiots.
