Another layer of cheap plywood for the bottom of the base, would make air-pockets, insulating the entire bottom of the house.

Only problem with air pockets, is then you have to worry about condensation forming in them. I actually did use some leftover insulation from my roof to insulate a couple of the joists and close them in with leftover plywood. It doesn't get cold enough here for me to be too worried about insulating the floor, but maybe I will eventually do the rest of it. Just a pain to crawl under there after the fact now.

@@tenacity-ridgeOK good point. When you get condensation you then have to worry about it freezing and thawing repeatedly, and that does damage, I think?. Am no sort of expert when it comes to the cold, the opposite is actually the case. That just made me laugh out loud, almost giggle, you saying "it doesn't get cold enough here" when I just watched a video with snow. To me snow = "All hands on deck to repel the creeping death". Tiggers are tropical animals. I didn't see snow until I was 57, last year, and traveled up to your hemisphere for the first time. I did get to stand outside in snow falling from the sky, was really very interested, a philosophical event . . . and glad to come home to the 'Does get deadly hot, never gets deadly cold" part of the world.

@@uncletiggermclaren7592 Yes, condensation creates mold and then eventually rots wood. Haha! It does get below freezing here, but not for super long stretches at a time. And I've lived other places where there was 4 ft of snow on the ground for 7 months of the year. So this seems mild to me still. I'm sure seeing snow for the first time was a surreal and magical experience!!

@@tenacity-ridge That whole experience _stuck the dismount_ lad. One thing you wouldn't think about because it is your life long experience, was the fact that, looking up into the night it was falling from, I couldn't see any of the flakes up there. They were just "appearing" as they came between me and the high tree tops and I had the strangest visual image that they were GROWING from the tops of the winter-bare branches. And the whole thing about the falling snow muting all sound, so the squirrels* claws on the tree trunks ** could suddenly be heard like it was magnified. Very interesting experience. * We don't got any of them. :) Really cute and bossy little things. ** They were all close to the house, watching me "Why this guy outside in the cold . . . he is up to no god lads !".

Aw man that's a beautiful way of describing it! You have a wonderful way with words. It's a lovely thing: the quiet, peacefulness of a gentle snow. Being in a dense pine forest during a gentle snow like that, when the large flakes are drifting down. It sounds and feels like being inside of a warm hug.

I was wondering - after watching part 1 - what is the reason that the frame isn’t fastened to the foundational points (or what you call them)? Is it for legal reasons?

I'm not 100% sure what you mean. Do you mean the wooded deck to the cross beans? Because that is toe nailed in at every joist to the beams. Or do you mean all of the wood to the cement blocks?
