Hi Everyone! We are aware that there is a very slight sound to video delay. We believe it was caused during export from the hard drive we were using to edit over 20+ hours of video footage. We have attempted to upload this video to RU-vid 4 different times, each with a different sound misalignment result. Each upload has taken approximately 15 hours over satellite internet. We have a new hard drive on the way and hope that remedies the issue. We appreciate your patience!
I have been watching all your videos! I’m a Carpenter/construction worker . That A frame build you are doing is the smartest way to do that I have ever seen! Awesome!
Excellent ingenuity and resourcefulness! Really enjoy watching the two of you work together. That kind of cooperation makes for a strong marriage. Love the way it is looking!
Wow, what a project! Its clear that you have not only exceptional carpentry skills but also great organisational skills. I say this because of your neat & organized building site. Well done!!!
Finally here you are....I'm 20 years old girl in sri lanka and I discovered your channel while looking for relaxing videos . I cuz I'm getting ready for university entrance exam and these days are so stressful and I restricted my self from using social medias and watching YT too ....but your videos made me feel so refresh and relax.....I love all the nice scenarios and snow.....I love all your hard working and even the way you talk is so nice ......thank you for uploading.....and You guys motivated me to visit alaska one day.....
I believe every engineer and inspector will be in heaven watching your content. It's like mothers' milk to my OCD your due diligence is thorough as you progress through each stage .Thank you so much .I'm sizzling with anticipation for the next video. Delectable videos 🤌
I’m a 63 year old woman and I love watching videos just like yours. I had to subscribe so you know I’ll be back. Thank you for all the time spent making the videos. Your follower from Idaho.
I didnt even notice the sound issue till i read about it in your comment. House is looking great! It made me laugh when the moose decided that the goats were too scary and moved off yet you 2 and all your power tools did not LOL. Thanks for sharing as I really have enjoyed your channel after finding it last year!
WOW! I have to commend you on what you have accomplished. Your critical thinking skills and ability to think outside the box shines through on this video. I've been building for over 40 years & I'm impressed.
Amazing work, the A-Frame is looking huge. I can see why you feel nervous about being so high with all the open space, you work really well together and actually make the build look much easier than it is. Excellent videos, I always look forward to the "next one."
I am so glad to see you both again, you have been missed. Your home looks magnificent, the best-looking, well thought out A Frame I have watched being built!! Keep up the great work, I am excited to see more from you. Be safe!
You two are amazing. Great job on the build. You make it look so easy but I’m sure it’s not. Thank you for taking us along. Looking forward to the next video. Take care from Cape Cod✌️🇺🇸
So glad you guys are back!!!! Chris your ingenuity was the star of the episode!!!! Love to see that as well as your teamwork!! Cabin is really coming together!!
Josh and Erin at Wild wonderfull off grid are also busy with their A frame house but in an advanced stage, so love both these channels with couples building a homestead on their own ❤❤❤❤❤
Hi guys! You've done an amazing job! Me, together with my wife, make a plan for how to move to Karpatian Mountain and start to build our own cabin. It will take time to complete all the tasks, but we are really looking forward to doing it. And now, videos like this really inspire us. Sanding you best wishes from Ukraine.
YES‼ So Happy to see Your video❗Love the pics of Bull Moose, I agree with you Katie on the subfloor .....much safer❗GREAT progress on the cabin build, looks so good, loved watching this video👌💯💫
Loving your A-frame. Thanks for sharing all the hard work you two did up high. That fur baby supervisor took lots of naps, I saw with my own two eyes, hehehe. I hope you keep getting stronger & stronger after being sick, Chris. Take care
Happy to see you back! WOW, that was a LOT of heavy lifting for just two of you. I love your ingenuity and perseverance. I can't believe how huge it looks! What great progress you've made!
Incredible work, guys. Thank you for sharing. Chris I am very impressed not only with your skills set, but also with the way you speak to and look after Katie. It is so important a man not let his woman overextend her physical capabilities even if she insists she can handle it, which I see way too often here on utube. Respect, for that. And Katie your job site demeanor and skills are equally admirable thank you for all your camera work, beautiful scenic shots and you nailed it with that curious moose- hurrah for the guard goats! Lol.
I loved watching you work together. That height is scary, but you both handled it well and did a great job of problem-solving. Seeing the moose, goats, and your dog was fabulous. I am excited to see the following videos.
This nice long video is really appreciated. I noticed that despite the fact that y'all struggled, the bull moose & your dog were completely relaxed. 🤪😹👏🏻😁✌️👋🌻🌻🐾🐾🇱🇷
Your off-grid cabin build is truly inspiring! Watching the process of crafting those upper A-frames and laying the subfloor showcases your dedication and skill. It’s incredible to see such a detailed and thoughtful approach to creating a cozy, self-sufficient retreat. Your project not only demonstrates craftsmanship but also a deep commitment to living sustainably and innovatively. And I am Floating Village Life, Hit follow and let's explore together!
Wow! I am very impressed with what you two were able to accomplish. Not an easy task at all. You are both such hard workers and great problem solvers. I am excited to watch as your home continues to completion. Thanks for sharing this!
We missed you guys! You both have been hard at work. The A frame is finally taking shape and it's looking amazing. Excellent way to put the frames on the upper level. Great job guys. guys Love and be safe!😘🌻ve
You two were really scaring me trying to get that top in without the upper subfloor. So I'm kinda glad you were as scared as I was and you put that subfloor in before finishing.
Enjoying this build immensely. The building techniques and materials are so very different to everything we do in Sunny Australia, it makes for great watching. Mick
Yes. Some difficulties and problems look at what you have accomplished! And what i liked very much that both of you remained calm, overexcited and just achieved your goal. Commendable!!!
That roof will be perfect for a set of solar panels, you’d be able to put loads of solar panels on that roof. and not worried about them being covered with snow perfect. i’m following you from Australia.
I was hoping like crazy your video would drop today. Just what I needed after an incredibly trying day at work. It’s gotta feel so good to know you’re building your own home with your own hands.
Hope you enjoyed the video! I know the feeling of those days I have worked for several places that were pretty hostile at times... About the home, It is great, there are a lot of small details that you can change or make better when doing it yourself vs contracted out. Also not too big of a deal to make changes and improvements on the fly this way. It's a learning experience and challenging but can't wait to see the finished results one day.
Katie and Chris, your work is beautiful. The work y'all have accomplished this summer is phenomenal. I can't wait to see what your next video holds in store or us. I really enjoy the content of your videos and look forward to each one. Your dog gives me a chuckle everytime and the goats were especially entertaining as well. It's amazing that you captured some video of the moose. What a beautiful creature. Thank you for sharing a bit of your lives with us. Be safe!
I am addicted to the RU-vid channel.....wild wonderful off grid from Wv.....been watching for almost five years....I. can now see clearly why you have that angle on the roof....no way SNOW is sticking to the roof. You lose space inside but you have no worry about a collapse roof
By the amount of fasteners used that building will stand the test of time. Looks great so far and will look monumental when completed. love the different style of house, just enjoy watching what can be accomplished when two people put there best foot forward. Thumbs up from Australia.
I found y'all's channel by watching your spring water video. I have watched every video y'all have posted and I am very impressed in how you have developed your off grid homesite. I have seen numerous cabin builds, and 98% of them are doomed to fail, but seeing your construction techniques and attention to the structural details that matter (I am an engineer, so I am very critical) I have to say, your cabin's foundation, the prep work, the joists, flooring and framing is top notch, especially being built by just you 2 and once finished will last for generations. Your channel is only the 2nd off grid homesite channel that I feel is good enough to subscribe to, and I look forward to watching y'all on your journey. FYI: I did live up there in the 70's when I was in the Coast Guard (Kodiak Island), so I understand how tough it is. And the "y'all" is because I am a Texan.
Superb video and good to see how you solved the various challenges that most would probably not overcome. No embarrassment on being nervous of height exposure, the whole job wasn’t and isn’t for the feint hearted - you overcame very well. The whole thing is riveting and most enjoyable. Thank you both. Phil, Suffolk U.K.🇬🇧
wonderful work. I will watch without sound if needed. Thank you for letting us into your life. That home will be a forever home. Be safe and enjoy your hard work. We all do!!
Great job. I see the effort and how tired you both are. A truly great experience and product you’re building. Great job on the little things too. peace and love
I really enjoy how you made and work the skid steer unit. Great job. I wish I still lived up there, you need another pair of hands. I would have loved to work up there again. Best 5 years of my life. Keep it up.
I'm extremely proud of the 2 of you. The 2 of you have worked your butt's off on this house. And I absolutely love you way of thinking on all of the frame work especially the floor box that house isn't going anywhere ya'll have done a fantastic job you should be proud
