Useful video, lots of half-tips and reminders, thanks. We have an 08 Vivaro and actually looks older than yours. We are also off to Switzerland on a long trek and stocking up on food is a really good tip. We only buy coffee in certain countries, example in Portugal where we live coffee is 80-90cents, in France it is €2.50 and I won't pay that. The rest of our stuff comes from LIDL. We have a free standing table which we can use outside too with just a couple of umbrella chairs. I sleep better in the van than I do at home, we also have a R&R bed which is the best and the swivel seat gives so much living space. Never seen a van with so many different storage areas, hats off that you are so well organised. You have a very nice van, see you on the road, as we start travelling next month.
Such a great setup and good to see different ways of setting up a T5. Don’t suppose you’d consider creating a wee list of all the stuff you’ve bought and from where would you? I’m thinking of the simple stuff like what hooks you use ( for hanging the bags from the roof), the thingies you’ve got to attach the table to the rear inner barn door and suchlike. I’ve seen some guys create an Amazon list for example. Ya know, just something to do when you’re all bored and wondering what to do 😜
We do have an amazon storefront here: www.amazon.co.uk/shop/jammygits The clips for the table on the back were there when we bought it so i can't say where they're from :)
You can add cruise control to this van very easily, you just buy the kit for about £200 and fit it in about 30 mins. As your van has factory electric windows it will fit right in. Vans with manual wind windows have to change the body control module also for an electric window model.
Hi just found your channel and we are loving watching your videos. Please can I ask were you got your packing cubes my wife really thinks they are a great idea.
Thanks so much for watching! ☺️ Yes of course they're from Amazon, we've linked all of the items in our van here if you'd like to get the exact ones 😃 www.jammy-gits.com/van-gear/
Do you have a diesel heater ? If not what do you use to keep warm in colder climates ? Great vid we have a T5 too and enjoy weekends and short hols in it, actually living in it full time must be challenging at times well done 👍🏻🇬🇧
No we don't, which was fine for us until we left our van for 2 months in Croatia in winter, when we got back we realised it was pretty tough without a heater in there. Thank you!
What a wicked video!! Do you find it easy to live in the van full time? I’ve actually got my apartment and the market and going to move into van life, I was looking at getting a van just like yours. I would be on my own but any advice I would welcome. Just subscribed… all the best. …..Smithy
Hi Smithy, I think travelling full time in this van was perfectly doable. If we had a diesel heater installed to combat the winter we would have happily carried on in this van. Especially with one person it would be perfect
loads of info left out would have helped. how old is the vehicle? miles when you brought it? or was you even bothered lol? nice video anyway... this is what I want to do.
Hey up! Thanks for the comment, we keep our clothes together in a pillow case until it gets full 🤣 and then we take it to the closest laundrette (there's plenty of them about in Europe). Normally costs around 10 Euros for a wash and tumble dry!
Nice one! We ordered them from amazon, They are currently out of stock but if you search "large wooden serving tray" lots of different sizes are on there. It took us ages to find the right clothing storage and they work perfectly!
Hi mate, just checked and they are back in stock amzn.to/3TwpkNh Just so you know this is an affiliate link and it just means we get a little bit of commission if you do purchase the item :) Hope this helps!!
Awesome T5 layout, think it's the best one I've seen. If you got the time to answer a few questions I'd love to read the response, you guys are living my dream. How/what is the roof extension called, can only find pop tops or low roofs, this is like a fixed foot of headroom on top of van? It looks.like the happy medium between an L1H2 a d a H1. Don't suppose you know what floor to ceiling height is, inside the van? Cheers in advance, enjoy the travelling, stay safe!
Hi! Thanks for the comment I'd be glad to answer! Our van has a roof which I've seen is mostly known as a "Midi" roof. These are factory fitted and there's not too many of them about. Ive seen a couple while we have been on the road. Like you say it adds about a foot. Martha is 1.52 Metres and when she's stood up fully her head touches the roof. So I would say floor to ceiling is 1.5m. If you have any more questions send them over! Hope this helps, Cheers 😁
Thats a great little set up. I've bought the vehicle hub too, the customer service has been fab! We were full time in Europe 20 years ago in a T2 bay window with bikes and climbing kit..... I have no idea hw we managed in that small space but it was the best time ever. I'm really enjoying your videos, thanks for the snoop around your van 😀
They’re great aren’t they! They even FaceTimed us from Spain when we were having trouble, very helpful! Sometimes the size and space doesn’t matter as you spend most of your time outdoors, and that’s where all the adventures are!☺️🙌🏼 thank you for watching!🥰
We would have done, but it was a big job to fit it due to the fibreglass roof. So once we weighed it up it wasn't worth the hassle. They are a great bit of kit though! 😊
