This video was taken a few weeks back when Cierra and I were at our off grid log cabin in the Minnesota wilderness. We did a little ice fishing, some hiking, and enjoyed the sunshine with our dog Skeeter. #offgrid #homesteading #outdoors
You'll never need to worry about cutting the wrong size, spin in circles or waste time trying to figure out what goes where... With ryan's detailed shed plans ru-vid.comUgkxb2mhCug-GkCWrq69Ce2I0nM0D4QpxAqu , it makes building sheds a breeze - just like putting lego bricks together! You'll be able to create the kind of shed, your neighbors and other woodworkers will secretly envy (while mumbling nice job under their breath).
Well its nice that you are both at the cabin. The ice is still very thick. No luck with the fish. Its great that you enjoyed you stay at the cabin. Until your next video. Take care and be safe. (Judy NB)🌲🇨🇦
You two are the hope of the future. Everyone wants to think all high tech, flying vehicles, but no. I believe the way you're/we are living is the future. We will survive.
Love it when ya'll take day trips, or two, it shows the diversity of your other cabins and surrounding area. Starting a new build will be a hoot to watch, I enjoy the simplicity of your cabins, yet ruggedness. Love what you're doing ❤️
Love Ely and the surrounding lakes. Snowbank, burntside and Tofte to name a few. NE MN a gem!!! Been to Snowbank MANY times. Never in the winter though.
Just wonderful memories being made. We in July will be married 50 years and you 2 remind us of Walt and I (Robin). We camped in A small tent and had a blast. We still camp but 1s a year we want but we do like our basic 5th wheel. Lol. Keep makin them memories and enjoy your lives.🌸👍
Your videos are so enjoyable and entertaining. I love the casual way you deal with the pine Martin. Cierra must love the cabin and fishing. Kyle and Cierra is a match made in heaven.
Hey Kyle, if memory serves me right I believe that I saw a small hole in the corner of the cabin under the bunk beds. Just caught a glint of light as you panned the camera for a final sweep as you were heading out the door. Perhaps a bit of spray foam and some silicone sealant might do the trick. Just a thought. So nice to see that the roads were plowed so it made it easier for the both of you to get to the cabin. Take care and be well.
Love the Video and seeing you all out and about. You guys make my day. Love seeing Skeeter running about. You guys make a such a perfect couple with your furbaby, even at the top of the wood pile. ❤🙏👍
Sigurd Olsen's books are wonderful. All of them. Have you read any of the books by Calvin Rutstrum? I think you would like Paradise Below Zero and The Wilderness Life. Both are great cabin readings.
Well i would have tidied up. But that's just me, the floor and some dusting never hurt. I would have clean the ash from the stove. But never mind Cierra.
Another great video! Love watching Skeeter bounce around, is that how his breed normally moves, or is it unique to him? He has a great personality. Also, what was the name of the book you are reading?
I hope you two really sit back and think about what a wonderful life you have! At your age, to have not one, but two homes AND land you own is amazing. It's not for everyone..........however, I think many more people would find it so much more rewarding if they gave it a few months. I'm an older woman and envy the life style you two have.
AWESOME!! One of our Families cabin is on Burntside Lake!! We’re going to be there at the end of July into August!! Our main Cabin is on Larsen Bay of Lake Vermilion!! I’m hoping to run into you guys sometime this summer!! Oh and Mmmmmmmmmm! SMORES!!
Looks like you had a good time! Trying to be spring. I know the frost is coming up. Everything is turning to mud! That's springtime in Minnesota! Be safe on the lakes, never know how thick the ice is this time of year. Keep an eye on the weather, rain and snow mix coming! Montana and North Dakota got hit hard earlier this week. I don't know how much we'll get in northern Minnesota. Be safe and have a good day!
What a great video!! Loved the ice fishing, the cozy cabin , the stovetop cooking. Great setup. Beautiful weather! Cheers to you, Ciera and Skeeter!! Happy Easter guys!!
Cierra is great at reading, would make a great teacher if yall decide to homeschool. Not to get out of my lain but is also nice to leave chickens behind while temperatures are good and enjoy yourselves
Watching from Washington state! We had a brunch of snow in the last few days and it's heading your way!! 49 years ago we had a blizzard with 2 feet of snow in Minnesota, 2 day before our wedding! It was pretty wild!!
Catching up on your videos. So nice to see Cierra and you enjoying the cabin and the wilderness! I hope I spelled her name correctly? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻Blessings,Laura
Pine marten!! Watch out!! 🤣 Let's get away from the cabin for a couple days and go to the cabin. 🤔🤣 Thanks for sharing! What are your plans for all your cabins?
How many cabins u gonna build!?? Yr smart, build em and either sell or rent them out, if ya do and get rich, I'd only want 3% percent. 😄🤙 What's yr continued content after yr done playing logger Boomer.?
awesome cant wait for the construction!!! 3 cabins !!!!! omg kyle you are a rare find,, im guessing you guys are highschool sweethearts,, so lucky in love. :)
FYI -> Hi kids , In Michigan when there logging we can get a permit to take logs for free “ the only catch is you can’t sell the logs . You could build two cabins next to each other with one roof over both like the pioneers did back in the day :-) have fun
For your tail cameras. If they run on AA’s, us the Energizer Lithium batteries. They tolerate sub zero to 140 degrees. I use them on all my cameras. Best to buy them bulk online as buying them at your local store will hurt the pocket book.
Get yourself a Solunar Chart that tells the best times of the day to fish and you will increase your changes of catching fish if you fish during the Major Feed Times.
You had me goin when you said "Look out for the Pine Martin" lol. Wait until your Pine Martin buddy brings his or her mate into the cabin and you have a bunch of babies living in and under it.
Great videos. We have to say that what you both and SKEETER have carved out up there is admirable and enviable. Although the years have caught up to me now...my son, wife and myself spent a number of Winter vacations in the area a few years back. One time snowshoeing near Snowbank Trail, we came upon two wolves. We hesitated...and stared one another down. Lucky for us, they then turned and headed into the woodline. My son caught the moment on video just a number of yards apart. Another year on the same trail, my son photographed us snowshoeing looking at wolf tracks and submitted the photo and it made the cover of the BOUNDARY WATERS JOURNAL magazine in the Winter 2009 issue. From the money he got for that...he rolled it over for he, my wife and I to go dog sledding at 'Chilly Dogs' near Ely. Enough said about US. You both are doing something really GREAT...and making some wonderful memories already. Have fun. We learned to apply this quote from Sigurd Olson: "Ignore the weather".
How big is the wall tent? What kind is it? What do you recommend for wall tent? Thanks, I enjoy you kids doing this. I remember watching Dick Proenneke in Alaska as a kid just at awe and envy of what he did.
Oh Cierra honey the Pine Martin only comes out at night. If you feal something stabbing in the back late night early morning it's the Pine Martin !! Love you Guys !!
