Day one of a two week Feb 2020 cross country road trip . Starting in California and taking Interstate 8 east into Arizona . Stopping at a variety of roadside items , border towns and more .
Thank you Adam, one of my best friends just passed away and it's been a tough week. Its nice to have something to look forward to, I've been with you for years and you always seem to come thru when I need it the most, cheers and safe journeys
I'm so sorry for your loss. When my Mom died 3 years ago, I watched Adam's vlog every night. It was the one thing I could count on to take my mind somewhere else for a bit. All I really wanted to do was run away from home at that time, so I traveled vicariously through Adam. It became a part of each day for me. When he stopped doing daily vlogs my whole routine was thrown off. It felt like a friend moved away or something. It's fun to see him traveling through my neck of the woods today. Take care, and I wish you the best.
@@pennyinaz thank you for the kind words, I agree when the trip or vlogs are over there is a feeling of loss but at least he always comes back with something, Adam.. old reliable, love him . Cheers
I can relate to that Jesse, I'm sorry for your loss. My wife passed away recently and it's been really tough to figure out how to enjoy anything in life again. Adam's videos are a good escape for me too, just something about his personality and the places he goes. I've found a lot of good content on youtube for that. I wish you the best, I know it sounds like a corny cliche but you just gotta take one day at a time, get through it, and do it again tomorrow. Hang in there.
Haha, my uncle was watching this and saw my bus you filmed at Coyotes flying saucers. Funny how fast things happen. That was only yesterday. I was swapping the injectors on the motor. About to head to the slabs now. Great video man!
It's a fun trip. I did it two years ago starting at Santa Monica Pier and ending in New York City. The best part and most enjoyable was West of the Mississippi River. Have a safe trip. Winter weather can be challenging on the road.
First of all, my 5 boys and i really enjoy all your shows!!! The shoe tree, in the military we have a tradition to put our shoes into a tree when we are moving to a new base, kinda like a sign that we were there ... just fyi.
I swear sometimes Adam's videos give me anxiety lol there are so many things I would never be able to see or know in my lifetime if it weren't for his videos.
Re: The McPhaul Bridge. It was replaced years ago as it was too narrow, and a new bridge was built just down stream. During a flash flood after it was placed in service the NEW bridge washed out, but the old one was intact.
My kids and I have stopped and visited the Desert Tower and it’s surrounding rock creatures a time or two on trips between Cali and Tucson Arizona where we lived. That was years ago and seeing it here in your video was a sentimental journey indeed. It brought back warm memories of some of the best times of my life hanging out with my kids. I love ‘em! Thank You!
I've never had trouble at the border unless there is something going on. Illegals trying to cross. I love going to see the wall. Go every time I go to the Valley.
Nothing like getting pulled over at the start of a two week trip! Makes it more interesting, and nice to get it out of the way early on! Can't wait to see what lies ahead. Thanks for taking the trip for us! Looking forward to it.
Thanks, Adam. Really appreciate you letting us tag along on your adventures! Watching you climb those boulders took me all the way back to childhood fun with my brother. Sweet memories!!
yessss..!!,,another unique road trip with Adam..no one finds these road side attractions like you do..and the "WALL" that divides 2 countries..it doesn't get better than this..be safe..
Thank you Adam I found this very interesting viewing. Places I know I would otherwise never get to see. Looking forward to the next two weeks of your cross country road trip!
Glad I caught this beginning episode of your road trip. It was excellent,!!!!! Loved all the rock sculptures n painting n the neon sign park!!!! Attaboy, Adam the Woo and Co D!!!!!
I wish I knew you were coming into Jacumba (pronounced ha-COME-ba). I've lived here for quite a while, and there's some interesting history here. Hollywood's elite used to come to the hot springs spa and bath house. This was a resort area before interstate 8 was built, rerouting the traffic away from the town. Also, I'd treated you guys to a fantastic meal at Jay's Southern Café. It's located in the shop area just next to the hotel chimney.
🎉woohoo loving your vlogs Adam travelling to places I’ve never heard of learning so much from here in the u.k 🇬🇧 keep up the good work🙋🏻♀️ looking forward to the rest of this trip!!
I used to live in El Centro as a kid. You brought back many memories of driving to San Diego, desert tower, lots of crop fields, and the desert. Not much as changed. Thanks
I like visiting NM, there's so much variety in the land from one part of the state to another. And lots of quiet open roads you can drive and see only a few cars for hours, and enjoy the ride. Since Colorado legalized cannabis, they are the only state surrounding us that doesn't hassle us about it, all the other states (Kansas, Wyoming, Utah, Nebraska) target us relentlessly. But when legalization passed here, NM said they weren't going to do that, they welcome us as frequent tourists and appreciate us visiting their state. When you get into southern NM closer to the Mexico border, then the Border Patrol turns up the heat a bit and you'll encounter checkpoints though.
I love your work! You are too funny! You have content that documents places that will one day deteriorate with time. Your videos capture our countries historical places. We get to live vicariously through you! 😀 What a wonderful gift you have! 🙂
“Are you ringing the notification bell?” That’s very witty Adam! But that situation with the border patrol got me worried for a few seconds. Super enjoyed the video! Glad you have Cody as a travel buddy. Safe travels!
Day 1 of cross country trip interesting adventure day. All the things y’all got to check out. You have to watch out for the border patrol. Glad they were nice to you. Liked the bridge and the shoe tree. Nice scenery. Y’all be careful and be safe. Can’t wait to see day 2.
You missed El Centro, Holtville, Calexico..Naval Air Facility El Centro where the Blue Angels do their winter training...i used to be stationed there 1979-80 while in the service...
We just moved to Florida from Arizona, and I appreciate the look at our old home. We spent a lot of time in Yuma, and Casa Grande was about 35 to 40 minutes from our old house. Very cool.
Same here. Very cool being able to recognize everything. I grew up in Yuma and spent time in Tucson, Prescott, and Wickenburg. I also worked in San Diego for many years and would commute home to Yuma about once a month. All I could think of was how much other stuff they missed.
There is also an old abandoned Railroad near this area. It was built a long time ago and the old SP Railway owned it at one time. Runs thru Mexico with some awesome rugged territory. There are some old rail cars still there. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Ok, you got me to watch another long video. LOL But I really like the places you go and want to see them when we finally hit the road someday in the future. Thanks for sharing, We will be following your journey east.
Hi Adam hope your doing good it’s nice to see you on another road trip i always love your adventures there great because i get to see so much of the country that i might otherwise not see and I have you to thank for that and you remind me so much of Huell Howser the way you do your vlogs and yes i will be traveling with you on your whole trip but what you showed on this vlog was so cool even seeing you get that close to the border wall before you were asked to leave all and all i had a great time and with that have a safe trip see you on the next vlog adventure
Always a fan from the start Adam...sweet find of that tower & boulder trails. The crop that you saw with the bees looked like broccoli that OT was going to seed from the flowers that were appearing... ✌🏻
This is more fun than Disneyland. You never know what your going to see. I'm glad you brought someone with you this time. There's faces everywhere watching you. I feel bad for the Indian guy stuck down there. You should help him.
Hey Adam, I grew up in San Diego and still live there. When I was a kid in the 1960's, we used to go up to the dinosaur park. Until roughly the early 1980's you could still see a few of them while driving on the road. Cool memories dude, thanks..:)
Hey, Adam! When you went to the view point with the missing plaque, you were looking over the Sweetwater river, which empties out into the San Diego bay between National City and Chula Vista.
So cool Adam! I went out to the Desert View Tower while visiting San Diego last year. It's an awesome place. Old highway 80 between the tower and San Diego is a beautiful drive with lots of history!
