We got tired of sitting at the shop letting our customers have all the fun out in the wild, so we grabbed a few guys from the shop and hit the road with a couple vans and some toys.
The star of this video is our sexy cement grey Ford E-Series Pre-runner Van. This rig is loaded with WTD goodies, however our main focus for this trip was testing out the new KING Shocks we installed, at beautiful Ocotillo Wells.
This Ford E-Series is running our famous "Baja Grocery Getter Complete Performance Package” 5’’ Suspension Lift Kit. The "Baja Grocery Getter" kit uses a combination of key components to give you the best van suspension available. For starters, a larger lift coil with a higher spring rate creates a better ride with more wheel travel. To assist with the additional wheel travel, we added a longer KING Shock to control high and low speed driving. Our extended radius arms move the front wheels forward while reducing caster change as the wheels move up and down. Our modified I-beams correct the camber by adding the lift coil with no need for drop brackets while not upsetting the RSC (ride stability control). Utilizing all of these components together allowed us run a 33″ tire and the option to run a 35″ (cutting required).
The progressive rear leaf springs significantly improve ride quality and work in tandem with the front suspension upgrades. Our custom long travel leaf springs give the desired added performance while eliminating the need to run a block in the rear. The entire lift is built into the arc of the leaf spring, designed to make the rear suspension more progressive. The rear KING Shocks help reduce bounce and sway while improving other factory know issues.
