From the village of Campotosto off-road vehicle to the Cardillo refuge with the intention of going up to Amatrice but it was not possible as the road ends. Beautiful all the same, the view of the lake is worth the pen, even if the path is not always easy.
Located within the #ParcoNazionaledelGranSassoeMontidellaLaga, about 1315 meters above sea level.
#LagodiCampotosto is the largest artificial basin
d’Abruzzo, an extension of an old natural lake to which three dams have been added for hydroelectric exploitation.
An ideal destination for camping enthusiasts, free stops are around the whole lake with the picnic and barbecue area, surrounded by woods and mountains.
Not far from the Gran Sasso so the next day we went to Campo Imperatore.
