Thank you so much for sharing that! Your video is probably one of the few on RU-vid that shows what a Winnebago Revel can do and what its limitations are.
@@Roaming50 At this point I think the 2021 Revel Stock will suit us. I think it has a higher clearance then a 2020? I do hear you on recommended upgrading the suspension . We have a long list of upgrades we have acquired through watching videos such as yours! I’ve subscribed , this video was so real, genuine , so thank you for taking the time to put it together for us!
@@pegbrady225 The 2020 chassis on the ‘21 Revel is the same as the ’19 chassis in my ’20 Revel. Clearance will be the same. Suspension upgrade could add some clearance but main benefits will be on rides quality and rear leaf spring support.
@@Roaming50 which compressor did you buy? or is it one that is installed? I bought a portable one but wouldnt trust it to air up 4 tires in a short period.
Fun video to watch, my heart would have been on high speed too. I bet it was an awesome feeling knowing your rig could go through such treacherous spots🤗🤗🤗🤗
Lmao. I was off roading in BC, and had a max lean of 33 as well in my revel. It was seriously scary stuff. Middle no where, tip the van and you are done for awhile. My revel was actually about to tip so much that I had to open the driver door and lean my body out as much as i could to get just a tiny bit of weight balancing it
Scary stuff! I had a full tank of fresh water, though grey was empty, but I think the water low down helped. I can't imagine being at that steep an angle for long enough that you'd want to learn out the door to counter balance. For me, the max lean was short lived but still heart racing!
I just ordered a Revel...good to know the capabilities, but I will not be venturing into any place like this! If you need more adrenaline rushes, try white water kayaking...that is the extent I will go for a thrill.
Then get a 2wd, because this was pretty basic and does not show what this van is truly capable of. This guy was shitting his pants because he didn't want to scratch his "investment".
I think a 170 could handle this particular trail (for the most part if was pretty mellow) but may have scraped the underside in one or two spots. If you are thinking of taking a 170 off-roading a lot then I would highly recommend a lift and probably some armor.
Agree with the armor. That transfer case and fuel tank appear vulnerable. Wish there were more suppliers to choose from to get skid plate cost down a little. I wouldn’t want to drag rockers either. Not sure I want this thing any taller than it already is but I understand your point about break over and departure angles. Height adjustable with bags or shocks could be interesting.
having gone to moab a few times and being from colorado, point directly at the trail says a lot to me... best would be 2 angles but trail driect is better than "looks how tall i am"
@@Graftanker98 on iOS check out iOverlander, Hipcamp, Campendium, FreeRoam and Boondocking. At least that is what I have on my phone. Some are better than others and some parts of the country do not have much information, but it's a start...
I determined level from the video and then used the angle measure on my phone to find the max angle while going through my video footage, frame by frame. It’s not very high tech but it seemed accurate enough.
Your point being? The Revel is an RV that happens to be able to do some off-roading. Most RVs would not be able to do that trail. For a Jeep, truck etc it would be a cake walk.
@@judgedredd3686 you do know you could go watch those videos of the vans you mention right? If you have the money to buy a van like this magnificent machine and it's what you want why wouldnt you test it out. No reason to have made a comment like that. My step sis makes comments like this about people who can afford to get what they'd like and it bothers me to no end. Jealousy or trying to make someone feel like they are a snob because they worked hard to achieve and be able to buy something is no reason to make a snooty comment. If that's the van someone loves and has it who cares if there's other vans less in price , that's the one for him and he worked hard for it🤗
