The 1907 is a FASCINATING gun to me, it is effectively doing the same things guns a half-century or more later would do but at an almost anachronistically early age. These are all *spectacular* specimens, looking forward to that future video too
I'm looking forward to your video on the 1907 Winchester...can you do a disassembly/re-assembly video too? Please!! I own two of them but they are complete mystery to me!
I'll throw in the other models of early Winchester autos in that episode as well. I'll do an episode on the inner workings when I have one that needs to be taken apart. They definitely have an interesting internal design.
My old friend has an 1876 45 60 his dad bought in the 1890s. Still in great shape. Even have the steel plate target his dad used to shoot at. a real tak driver for sure
Wow, That Winchester 1876 is absolutely beautiful. Out of all the Winchester lever-action rifles, the 1876 is easily my favorite. A perfect balance of speed, power, and smoothness.
So it’s a cold drizzling day here in PA so I watched this video while turning 4 buckets of WW into ingots for later use. Thanks mark makes smelting more fun watching you send some lead down range. Some real beauties there.
I found your videos by searching for Uberti 1876 Winchester videos. I since then have watched a lot of your content. I want to complement you on intelligent and very entertaining content that is very informative for those of us who enjoy Old West guns. Your gunsmithing videos are very detailed and helpful as well. Beautiful ranch as well. Regards.
Looking forward to your video on the SLR series. I am lucky to have the entire line, 1903, 2 1905's (.32 and .35), 3 1907's, 1910, 1911 (widowmaker) and a 63
Great content. No silly debates. No super soaker guns. Just honest old blue and walnut. I can't wait to see your video on the early auto Loaders, because I'm constantly amazed at how everything new, really isn't new at all. Are you interested in vintage Winchester. 22 cal rifles? I like the Model 52, 61, 67, etc and try to collect a few. Great scenery in your stuff, too. I start each day with about a three mile hike and shoot with my Spaniels on the Black Hills National Forest . It's nice to be able to shoot whenever we want. We are fortunate in that regard. Even though my shooting is limited to the 10/22 and Mini 14 until the ice melts. Don't want to bust your butt with classic rifle in hand.
I enjoy hearing about people who shoot the old guns. I've got a couple of benchrest competition rifles (model 52 and model 75) in the shop now. I'm planning to show them soon it someone doesn't come in and buy them up.
Great video!! My dad bought a Winchester Mod 63 in 1946 that looks just like the Mod 351 but without the magazine. My brother and I both learned how to shoot on the 63. Super accurate little 22 rifle. I love old guns, funny though they weren't that old when I was growing up. lol
Well that was a lot of fun. I have one of those Hepburns in the safe. Full octigon barrel. Double set triggers, exact same furniture/checkering. Chambered in 32-20
Yes, she's one of my favorites as well. My wife collects the Colt Lightnings, so I'm free to go after the occasional Burgess that comes up without getting in the way of her Colt collection.😉
You just have so much fun when you're shooting those rifles. Such a lucky man! While I love a lever action I believe my favorite was the Remington Hepburn. I love a 4570 and that Remington was very appealing to me. Thanks for giving me such a thrill today shooting those weapons, the assault rifles of the Old West, so they have been branded. Thanks again for this video I'll certainly did enjoy it immensely. Keep ye powder dry!
You're very welcome. The Oregon gun control law is still under a temporary injunction while it makes its way through the courts. We're keeping our fingers crossed.🙄
@@thecinnabar8442 if you happen to have any other idea or direction to point me in I need a butt stock for a marlin 1894 44 mag made just before the crossbolt safety so it's a modern rifle straight grip stock this one was made in 1980
Great video Mark!! Lots of nice firearms you were able to shoot! Loved that Burgess and the fine condition 1876 in 45-60! Thanks for making the video!! I had fun watching it!
That’s quite a nice collection of old rifles I like all of them those 07 Winchesters are interesting I remember reading somewhere or Babe Ruth had one in .401 wcf and was hunting moose in Maine I believe.
Man oh man, Ive gotta admit Im super partial to that beautiful 76 and that Colt-Burgess. All of the rifles are stunners though. Thats a great group of rifles to have together to take out and put some lead through.
Thanks for another entertaining video. I enjoyed seeing the Remington-Hepburn. I like single shot rifles. Back in the '80s there was a very nice example in a gun shop in Anchorage that I frequented. It was in great shape (better than the High Wall I got there), but it was in 25-20 SS. It was very reasonably priced, $500 comes to mind. But I resisted it because ammo and brass for that cartridge was nonexistent at that time, and I wanted to shoot it. Even so, it tempted me every time I went in there. It was there for over a year, then one day it was gone. Of course I kicked myself. And later brass became available and I could have shot it. Not the only time I regretted passing something up ha ha.
Oh yeah. The ones that got away always haunt us. I'm haunted by the ones that pass through the shop that I have to sell. I won't sleep well after these rifles sell. 🙄
Love your videos. Great to see the old ones still shooting. One minor criticism on the set up- the back lighting puts you in the dark and harder to see. Moving the camera around so your facing the sun will give us a better view. Keep up the great work 👍
Looking forward to that 1907 video. I have one of those with a tang peep and a globe front sight. It needs a good cleaning as the firing pin is all sticky with dried-up oil.
Really enjoy you vedios..have old 25-20.....from great grandfather/mother...canning rabbit meat..in Alberta..with rifle in back drop...have it today ..Before I was/is...due the Canada Irish act for settlement..Shelby Alberta ..
Great video !! What a wonderful collection of old shooters. I am more than a bit smitten with your Burgess. What a beauty! That next round of snow has already started over here in the Cascades, probably headed your way. Stay warm and thanks for this video.
You answered my question, but it was the wrong answer. Watching this I was thinking it would be fun to drive down and bring a couple rifles that could use some love and take a look at the inventory you are selling. Oh well, another time.
I’ve enjoyed many of your videos and, may, have missed one on cleaning. I would enjoy a video on cleaning a black powder lever action. Perhaps, one video that covers a quick basic cleaning and continues on with a thorough cleaning that you would do if you were going to put the rifle away for a season or two.
Great video and really like the variety of guns. Hope you cover reloading problems with the first semi auto Winchesters. I've had several 351s and loaded for them and with the cut down 357 max case you can pump them out almost as fast and cheap as 9mm using a 9mm shell plate and 357 mag dies. 401 is a little problematic but doable. Still cheap rifles maybe from ammo anxiety. Hope estate's keep you busy and bring more treasures to your channel, way fun.
Hello, sir! I've been watching your site for a while, and it's one of the few I subscribe to. So here's my question - according to Wikipedia, the m 1907 was only chambered in .351 Win SL. Where do you find the bullets to load in .351? Do you cast them yourself? Do you have some old ammo lying around? I tried to get a vet tech friend of mine shooting her rifle of that chambering but could find zero bullets of that dimension, and I believe Winchester made the bullets back then (1990-ish). So I am curious how you managed to get some ammunition. You mentioned the weight of the piece. As you undoubtedly know, it's a blowback action, so it would have taken a pretty decent sized chunk of metal in the action to take up that energy. An early design, for sure.
Just ran across your channel a week or so ago and have been binge watching it ever since. If you haven't already done it, can you do a video on how you clean these guns, especially the black powder ones?
Well I guess if the cinnabar really wanted to sell those rifles it wouldn't hurt to mention price ranges but then again there's collection racks too great looking n awesome shooting rifles
RU-vid most definitely doesn't allow advertising guns for sale. If I'd mentioned prices, the video, and maybe the channel, would have been taken down. The best I could do is to mention that our inventory is on our website and show our website address. Surely, if anybody is interested in our inventory, they can make the effort to visit our website. Thanks for watching and commenting.
While the 30-30 was introduced as the first smokeless cartridge available in the model 1894, it wasn't introduced until 1895 and at virtually the same time as the smokeless 30-40 Krag was introduced in the model 1895. I believe I stated that the model 1895 was the first model introduced "from day one" for smokeless powder cartridges. 1894's were introduced in 1894 only in black the powder cartridges - 38-55 and 32-40.
I answered my own question rewatching your video again. Didn’t hurt may feelings to have to watch it again! My 30 army has more digits in its serial number than yours and isn’t a flat side , unfortunately I don’t shoot it because in Canada it’s a lot easier to get 303 British ammo so I shoot my 95 in 303 more often.
Wondering what you thought of the 1876 40-60 caliber? From what I have read it was thought of a wolf gun and that is it. It was supposed to be a flatter shooting round than the others but how hard was it hitting? A good deer rifle?
It would depend on the type of deer hunting. It wouldn't be great for mule deer in this area with mostly long shots. Might be good for whitetail in areas where shooting is typically under 100 yards.
A web address would be nice also maybe check out exhile armoury on you tube sales might need certain criteria such as age address and a background check maybe a licence in some instances
I showed the web address on the screen when I mentioned that the guns were listed on our website. I don't know how Exile is getting away with advertising guns on RU-vid. It's specifically prohibited in RU-vid's policies. It would be pretty foolish of me to jeopardize my channel just to sell a few guns. If you're interested, just go check out our website.
@@thecinnabar8442 I see it, now. When I was scrolling down the page the link for another website selling your one gun came up first. Scrolled past that link and now see your listings.
