1 Corinthians 11:3-12, 14:34-35, 1 Timothy 2:11-15 and Titus 1, 2. These passages are the foundation for the conclusion that women cannot be lead pastors in churches.

Tithing is not a new covenant Christian practice.

Matt. 23:23 🙌 Tithing is an eternal principal not merely a legalistic obligation! Under the NT we tithe by faith not law. The principle was first practiced 430 years before the Levitical law. It was under the law yes, but it transcends the law. See Jesus’ words (Matt. 23:23).

@@dr.stevenlynne What scripture would you offer to prove that tithing is somehow an eternal principle? Matthew 23:23 doesn't say a single thing about tithing transcending the law. Jesus was simply giving old covenant instructions to Old covenant people who were born under the law, just as Jesus was. If you realize that the New covenant didn't actually begin until Jesus's death and resurrection, then you see that in the New covenant scriptures, there is never a mention of tithing as a prescription for Christian living. Prove me wrong.

@@dr.stevenlynne What's more, if we are looking to descriptive passages prior to the law in order to find eternal principles, then we may as well be sacrificing animals now, because that was done before the law as well. And what about leverite marriage? That was before the law, under the law, and was not specifically removed by a New covenant scripture passage. Yet we don't enforce it today or even talk about it today! It is an extremely poor hermeneutic to attempt to find Eternal principles in descriptive passages. Maybe a class on exegesis would help you.

@@StretchJED Thanks for your opinion sir, i understand where you are coming from with this angle! I appreciate your point! Jesus said, “…you should tithe yes…” Matt. 23:23 (NT) red letters! However, Jesus didn’t say this as a law, He demands a higher standard under grace! Please read Matthew 5, 6, & 7 and discover that under grace (NT) the law says… but Jesus requires a higher standard! E.g. don’t even look at a woman with lustful intentions! Under grace we tithe and so much more! The law was merely the start of showing us the end of ourselves, under grace we are freely “given” the ability to do so much more: tithe, give free will offerings, and give everything we have (see Acts). So you are right! Law never works under the new covenant only grace. However, grace helps us experience so much more (Jn. 10:10)… God bless!

@@dr.stevenlynne I appreciate your reply. However, according to the logic you propose, we should also be making animal sacrifices, right? ("we tithe and so much more" is basically tantamount to saying, "we sacrifice animals and so much more"). And I would say that grace doesn't DEMAND a higher standard, but rather grace represents something different (See Jeremiah 31, "a new covenant...different from the covenant I made with your forefathers"). If we couldn't even keep the laws He gave through Moses, what makes us think that a higher standard is something our strength can accomplish? New covenant giving is, according to Paul in actual new covenant scriptures (because, you see, Jesus didn't actually live under the new covenant, strangely enough), is to be "as you have determined in your heart; not grudgingly or under compulsion." And again, just because something is practiced ("descriptive") doesn't make it a command for all people at all times in all places ("prescriptive"). Blessings.
