I will never understand why east coast officers just approach unsearched, unsecured subjects. Especially when the call was for a subject possibly having a gun. Some distance and better approach tactics with weapons drawn might have avoided all of this.
Yeh they should of stayed outside the gate and talked to him ready to quick draw and shoot if he brings out a weapon or one with lethal one less lethal out but I have no real world experience with this.
@@Sam-fp8zm you’re not wrong, but typically if a subj is possibly armed, officers will usually already have their weapons drawn. A “QuickDraw” oftentimes is still a slower than a suspect who already knows he’s going to shoot.
@@firstnamelastname8790 I’m not saying cops in every part of the country, including yours truly, hasn’t made a stupid decision in their life. However, every video I seem to see where unsecured, unsearched subjects, possibly armed are wandering around, or officers put themselves repeatedly in bad positions or take a terrible approach, seem to come from NY, NJ, Connecticut, Maryland, etc. it just seems to be a different way of training over there or something, especially coming from the Los Angeles area.
yeah, that crossfire situation was ugly.. Description says he was struck in his right armpit (exit out the chest), while she was shot twice in the arm.
"The male officer wrestled the individual to the ground, according to Shea. He was struck once in his right armpit area; the bullet exited in the area of his left chest." - that pretty much certifies that he was hit by the female officer's round. Unfortunate, but his chances wouldn't have been good without her there either.
Not sure how you figure that certifies anything as the guy was to his right as well and was when he opened fire. I watched and paused it a few times. Still, the female officer was shooting when she really didn't have a clear line of fire. I'm sure their detectives/forensic unit will figure it all out, and if it was her shots, she should have to go through some very rigorous re-training or be assigned to desk work. Bad enough to have scumbags shooting our cops, we sure don't need them to shoot each other.
@@LegendLength THAT'S WHAT I WAS THINKING TOO! I'm like, "Damn, she's just shooting with the male officer so close. She's going to shot him!" And she did I believe.
She hit bad guy 3 times the bad guy fired several times... she did fine. Saved her partners life. Male cop should have never rolled up on him like that in the first place. Kept some distance and tell him to show hands
@@404nitro so she should have waited for the other guy to empty his weapon into her partner who never should have rolled up on a possible armed suspect in the first place?
"that pretty much certifies"- Ok so you are the Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York. Nice that you took time to give your verdict in the YouseToobs comment section.
She did, it said in the report that the bullet went in is right armpit and exited his chest....meaning he was shot from behind, which is exactly where she was standing, behind him and to his right.
So, I had to google it to be sure. "Call a bus" is NYPD talk for "call an ambulance." Just wanted to be sure he didn't expect public transit to take him to the hospital.
Screams and shoots her own partner. Some top notch lady police work. Some people ask how many lives are we will to sacrifice on the alter of political correctness. The answer is "all of them".
Some of us ladies may be a bad shot under fire, but that was a full out clusterfuck all around. The way they walked up all lack a daisy was the first mistake. Letting the suspect get a move on them was silly. If the caller says there is a gun, assume so and deal with suspiciously.
Imagine shooting someone and the getting shot for literally no reason, and then end up in the same hospital with the guy who did it. That’s messed up. Hope they recover, screw that guy.
Yikes, she looked spooked and out of control, shooting with her partner in the line of fire. Intense moment but shit, they need some fear control training. Or something when an officer is shook like this. Glad they're okay tho, it's a tough job.
How do you show up on a man with a gun call with your hands in your pocket? Should've had him at gunpoint from at least 50 feet away and given him commands.
*THIS TENDS TO OCCUR MORE THEN MOST KNOW, FEMALE WAS HESITANT TO ENGAGE INTO THE FIGHT, BC THEY ARE NORMALLY OVER POWERED BY MEN, RISKING PPL'S LIVES BY HESITATION.* The 2nd factor is she carries her gun on her right, but transfered her gun to left hand only to use her radio mic on her chest, shouldn't have transfered gun unless a medical necessity.
1)Well she was shot in her bicep. 2) didn't look to me like she hesitated too bad, infact she almost shot her partner in her head in her haste. She also maybe new sounds like the male officer is possibly her FTO
This has nothing to do with the sex of the officer or any hesitation. It has more to do with their improper approach. If officers even think a subject might have a weapon, a better approach would have been to stay behind cover and verbally order the subject out.
"I'm shot, call a bus" "I'm shot too" "I'm shot" "Where are you shot?". "I'm shot in the arm" "But I'm shot worse" "No, I'm shot too" "Call a bus" "CALL A BUS!". Somebody call a bus before you both bleed out, FFS!
I see alot of people commenting how the female officer shot the other cop and how reckless she was. I think people are missing the part where the first cop walked directly up to the suspect who had his hand in his pants and tried to grab him without making him show his hands first. What's the first thing you hear a cop say when they show up on an active crime scene? Show us your hands... yes female cop screwed up but so did the male cop so they're even in my eyes, she wouldn't have been put in that position if he followed procedure correctly. That being said glad 2 of the 3 people in this situation can still learn from their mistakes.
I feel sorry for police officers in liberal cities; they work with a target on their backs. I don’t understand why they would take the risk, but they do.
I think many of them grew up in these dangerous communities and simply want to make their cities safe. But yeah, having local politicians and district attorneys lie to the public to maintain anti-cop narratives is incredibly harmful and likely terrifies many majority-minority communities that think all cops are racist.
I'm going to be real for a second. As a woman and in my opinion I do not think women should be police officers. There are very few that I have seen in videos that are phenomenal. Women and men are completely different in physical and mental strength. I cringe when I see a female officer in a shoot out. I'm truly am sorry if I offend anyone. Women do make fantastic detectives. Prayers for both officers.
She returned accurate fire and saved his life. So in this case you are incorrect. Plus the male cop rolled up on a know possibly armed suspect putting himself and his partner in danger.
PHYSICAL strength (especially upper body strength..)Yeah. but "Mental strength?!? Not getting THAT at all. As a MALE (and a rigidly traditional/conservative one at that!) I have to tell you your are WRONG. There are MANY women that are more than competent at "line" police (and FIRE) service, and many men who are NOT. There have been plenty of women with the "mental strength" that are NOT surpassed by "just some guy". My half Russian self will just mention Lyudmila Mikhailovna Pavlichenko as ONE example. If YOU think that YOU can be a cop because you have a "hooha" and not a "schlong", well good on ya. Some women CAN and DO.
Blanket judging cops because of the actions of a few...like Black Lives Matter. Shame you ignore the 100,000 women in law enforcement who do their job perfectly fine every day.
Wow! Way to shoot your partner in a high stress situation that you’re “supposed” to be trained/certified to handle. But I bet she writes good reports 👍🙄👍
you're wrong LMAO, the suspect was also to his right at multiple times in the video She was shot in her shooting arm... that's why she was inaccurate. She still did very good.
Hmm. I thought guns were illegal to carry in NYC. It's almost as if the criminals don't follow the law and carry anyway while the law abiding citizens lose their right to protect themselves. He's probably out on no cash bail already. Democrat paradise right there.
For weeks this video was going around, stating that cops snatched him off his own front steps because he looked suspicious. 3 Sides to every story. Not even a video can be trusted these days.
All he had to do was show his hands & he wouldn't have been snatched if that was his doorstep. 🤷 I highly doubt any of that was true. That's sounds like some blm propaganda right there. Surprised they didn't add he was waiting for the church van to pick him up for a ride to choir practice. 🙄
@@MercedesE63S-AMG In that case, he should have put his hands up and said, "I'm waiting here for the church van, sir, and I'm going to choir practice". Instead he started shooting at police officers. I don't think he was going to choir practice...
@@melissamcclain34 honey you can't argue with nor fix stupid !! They blame blm for every crime against LE. Just another way to excuse the bad LE officers that aren't doing the right thing.
Even if she did shoot her partner , it was a decent outcome and she knew to stop firing , props to her , didn’t magdump him bc of his partner and if she didn’t shoot they probably would’ve been killed
My god that female officer has no business being a cop or carrying a gun. Shooting with blatant disregard for the high probability of striking her partner. You can literally see her panic and fire.
The female officer should not have fired at the suspect while her partner was hands on with them. She's lucky she didn't kill him. I hope she reconsiders her occupation.
@@tommytfaa She only shot because she was thinking of just defending herself. If she would think about partner she wouldn't shoot untill she would get a better spot.
@@tommytfaa At one point her muzzle was directly in line with her male partners head, and the bullet injury to the male partner came from her reckless shooting, bullet entering him from behind.
The real question is why was somebody calling just because somebody had a gun we have our second amendment here in United States possessing a gun should not be suspicious activity
That cctv footage shows them being fairly casual to a gunman. Makes you wonder if being a bit more forceful would of helped the situation in this case. Edit: Wait they are saying this was unjustified?! He shot first. They were very kind to him until he refused to get his hand out of his pockets in which he did indeed have a gun in which the collar said he had seen. I don't get it.
I'm unsure if the female officer shot her partner or not....if she didn't, that's either extreme luck....or she's a really good shot. Maybe both. Goodness.
And this is why the US Police need more firearms training. Talk about crossfire, shooting blindly and shooting at the suspect when your partner is fighting him.
That's scary.. dude sitting there with a gun ready to blast people. The lady cop handled the shot to her arm 💪, they could of both lost their lives that night. Hope this trash stays in prison forever, unlike California laws
yo i know audio video takes a ton of memory but a 2tb flash drive is like 20$ now days, how the fuck do we not activate audio on these body cams all the time?
The suspect did it to himself. If he hadn't drawn his weapon and fired on the officers, they would have not instinctively returned fire with deadly force, especially since one was a veteran U.S. servicewoman with military training so she knew how to put down a threat with deadly accuracy.
So who shot the guy. The perp or female Leo? She just started blasting. She could have smoked her partner so fckn quick shooting wildly in a scuffle like that. Scary af and I would immediately ask for a new partner for fear of my life
When a body camera is activated by the officer, the camera automatically records what happened a minute prior to the body came being engaged. Hence why you hear no audio till the officer activated the body camera.
It records over and over and over and over every 30 seconds while in "standby"(deleting the LAST 30 seconds, Rinse and repeat). This is to ensure NO VIDEO is missed when the record button is triggered (you OFTEN hit "record" AFTER you just saw what you wanted to record if the action was unexpected!.), any data savings is a good thing for memory space and battery life, Video is prioritized over audio in this application. This IS NOT some kind of "conspiracy" to "hide" anything. Some CONSUMER camcorders have this exact feature. (I have a Canon that does this, it's enabled DEEP in the settings, LOL). It keeps the camera "semi awake" if one is anticipating action that is going to happen, but not EXCACTLY known WHEN. This is perfect (on the consumer end) for sports. You want the camera "hot" for the "three pointer", but don't want to be in full record mode for the whole game.
@@jamesslick4790 Concerning the video is prioritized over audio, I see no reason why the bodycams don't have enough memory/space to add in the audio buffer. Unless I'm missing something
Jesus Christ, she almost shot her partner in the head. And most likely is the one to shoot her partner. She takes her shooting hand off her gun and holds it like a damn coffee cup in her left hand. Then fails to call a bus when told, just repeats the order. She lost all situational awareness. Get her off the streets.
Reminds me of that song by the Stones - I'm just waiting on a friend. Man, I wish the space aliens would just remove all the criminals and democrats (same thing), so we can live in peace again.
Such a tight, compact area to be approaching the perp. Other officers arrived with seconds. I wonder if it would have been better to wait for 4 or 6 officers to show up, and fan out behind cars in front of that guy. Then, once everyone is in position, start issuing commands. I'm not armchair-quarterbacking, just asking the question.
What the Fuck? That female officer fired directly at her partner many times and freaked out and couldn't listen to directions from her partner because she was over emotional What the holy fuck. Not to mention she is too overweight to be effective in this situation, obviously made bad judgenent calls and I'm betting one of the bullets in her partner was hers. Get that inept officer in records or the front desk and take away her firearm. Or better yet get rid of her all together.
That first cop pissed me off. He's all CALL THE BUS, and the female officer, who was also shot, is left holding the guy at gun point. Why don't YOU call the friggin BUS! SMH
