From what I heard, most of the problems people are talking about come from lack of optimization. The reviews in the video only mention the features. Here's hoping the performance issues get patched out

i think its a solid new shiny base to build off off. it does feel a bit bare bones. besides the limited items because of No DLC, we dont have a map maker or Asset manager yet or anything. and performancewise on my new PC the game is fine no issues. only encountered buggy issues with water when trying to build a small island and a bridge.

@@azahel542 lucky you! 1080p everything set to low and a few things disabled as per the CS2 article... everything looks horrible, everything flickers and stutters... just not playable on my machine at the moment :( Hope you enjoy the game.

​@@Brandon-uy1uv Things would be a lot different If we had SimCity. Paradox can just charge whatever price there's no competitor. It's even sad to see Paradox went public a few years ago and they gotten twice as greedy because of that.

yep, same for me. after so many 2023 game fails...i was sure at least this couldn't go wrong...just CS1 in better...8 years later...hey, slam dunk. - not only is traffic NOT fixed - we even get less animations on everything - it looks incredibly samey and bland (why is every building...US grey? its a EU company, look out the damn window ffs) - terrain management is TERRIBLE (not only editing it, but also how zoning puts houses down...wow...is it worse than cs1 or what?) - and main buildings that are required (schools, trainstations...) are so big they don't even fit smaller towns/cities...they are in XXL size only.

This and Forza Motorsport with the constant crashing. It's not been a good month for releases.

It looks and runs worse on my RX 7900 XTX than CS1 on my GTX 1080 ....AA modes except TAA seem to not work at all (on the top AMD card available at the moment at least) and TAA has so much ghosting that I get motion sick when watching traffic.....this is maybe a tech demo at best ...but not a finished game

@@gneurski same here - around 60FPS with 6700xt/3900xt cpu/64gigs of ram.. switched to 1080p since my gpu is a bit weak for wqhd anyway. High Textures/Vsync off/Illumination reduced/Volumetric stuff off/Shadows low I'm totally fine with it! bunch of console kids out there who are too dumb to adjust graphic settings but also fail from Developers not to adjust the Medium/Low Presets and deactivate gpu intensive options. That shitstorm could've been easily avoided by doing just that.

I don't know why people blame the developers when people forgot that EA is the one who wrecked the entire SimCity franchise like how Paradox is doing CS2

@@jayzeeiy The devs are the ones that oversold their skills by saying it can be done and then missing their targets and deadlines. The publisher is making things 10x worse by releasing it instead of delaying it, but the devs are not simply innocent bystanders.

Update after using recommended settings the game is now playable.

tbh when i had the issue with building a road over water i just thought that the water was too close so i raised it a little but now i think about it, it is actually noticable as cs1 had no issues🤣

The problem for me was with shipping routes. You can delete them if you don’t use ships, or make a tunnel instead
