Did they change his gender/color skin? Nope. Did they put any LGBT allusions yet? Nope. Did they make any allusion about inclusivity? Nope. This is just pure Indiana Jones and nothing else. I think he meant making the modern audience discover Indiana Jones but by respecting Indiana's spirit in the same time.
If it's following continuity, Marcus Brody didn't appear after Last Crusade (Denholm Elliott, the actor, had died before they made Crystal Skull). ...Actually, if I'd waited I've just seen Juli Haraldsdottir say it's set between Raiders and Last Crusade! Over and out! ;)
5:16 anyone who looks like this should never be in charge of AAA games, this person doesn't care about the fan base, it only cares about it's own fan base. Absolute cringe. This game will lose so much money.
Well they could have said 'for an older audience' or 'for a future audience', but then that wouldn't make sense. All it means in this context is that they're making a new story for this generation of people that is alive today. Considering the game looks very faithful to the best era of films from what we've seen so far, you appear to be crying over nothing. And by ability to recognize patterns, do you mean your ability to get offended at even the slightest things is overtuned? Because that's what writing this comment in the first place has shown to us. But I'm sure you and the 110 other children who liked your comment and disliked this video can have a nice little circle-jerk together when the game comes out and it's excellent, lmfao.
Yep. One hell of a red flag for a game that is supposed to encapsulate the spirit of old school adventure movies set in a WW2 background/era... Why would ''modern audience'' would need it to be any different? It's called rewriting history, and that's what totalitarians and extremists do. Let's stay cautiously optimistic, and hope that they have not butchered this classic. But I noticed that too and it is definitely suspicious.
@@ArthurMorganBoah6637 Marcus Brody??? lol. That was originally Denholm Elliot who passed ages ago. But Im not quite sure that the Indy voice is even Harrison. I almost wish in cases like this they would use something like Elevenlab or Respeecher like they used for Vader in Obi Wan. The Vader there sounded 100% authentic as long as the voice guide acts it right.
"modern gaming audience" I'm sure the majority of people wanting to play this game want the original Indiana Jones. Thats why you would use an existing character and not make a new one.
I don't understand the issue with the phrasing there, do you want more Indy point and click games? Because I hate to break it to you, but we're all part of the modern gaming audience.
@@klaatuNaatu The modern gaming audience doesn't exist. Everything made for a modern audience has failed because it's woke and 99% of us don't want that.
@@ivan5083 I don't really think this game will be "woke", 'cause so far they didn't show any inclusivity allusion. Already judging the game while it didn't release yet...
@@justaguy263 It's called an educated guess. And based on what is happening with Snow White's "reimagining for modern audiences" (yikes), and also how these devs portrayed BJ's daughters in Wolfenstein:Youngblood as insufferable Gen-Z-ers.... it's a very well educated guess.
Hopefully they'll keep the woke crap to an absolute minimum. Not going to preorder, but will watch progress on this game with great interest. Please please please don't let the liberal maniacs ruin what could be an incredible (and profitable) game! They've already ruined the last movie, enough already.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood with *ahem* "forbidden love" story arc was also made by Machine Games. I never bought The New Colossus and Youngblood. Wokeness was too obvious. At this point it would be easier to win lottery than not to expect game tainted with THE MESSAGE. Hard pass.
@@polyestermammoth740 we are grown ups. They are the childish idiots catering for a non-existing audience to score points in social media and ESG ratings. You wake up.
You mean there's a woman in the game? I am going to make a game called sausage fest that is all Huey men grunting and groaning, shee how popular it is.
Don't expect that based on the developer. If you've ever played Chronicles Of Riddick, the transitions will be third person like platforming but they're a first person game developer. And it's just more immersive imo.
@@TheMasterQuestsAaaaand third person doesn’t make it better either. So. Yeah. There we are. Making a game like this in first person sure can’t be easy. But damn, I think they’re gonna pull it off! Looks great. And their track record is fantastic.
Disagree entirely Making a switch between the two either ends up with one of then being janky and nigh unplayable or having to completely redesign the combat and weapons around that with in my experience always meant that the game ended up being bad Just stick to one or the other
My only issues is the that it's first person and Indy's female sidekick with the half-shaved hair. Also, MachineGames is the same company that ruined Wolfenstein by going woke so there may be some wokeness in this game.
Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke. Don't be woke.
"for modern audiences" ...the dog whistle kiss-of-death for any project. I was momentarily excited for the game but now it will not be getting my money.
Remember everyone, they wouldn't give you slop like this if you hadn't eaten it in the past. Don't preoprder it, don't hype it, and don't play it until at least a week after release.
Yes Yes Yes... X marks the spot!!! Let's go for some Fortune and Glory!!!!! This definitely looks like it's being made by true Indy fans. I'm so glad you waited to show this until the year it comes out! It's so cool to not see a glimpse of the game 2 or 3 years before you have to wait! LOVE the fact that you made a live cinematic score. Icing on the cake.
I was skeptical about a first person Indy and a focus on action given the studio's past but this actually looks really nice. The action looks very Indy so far, not too over blown and the first person looks like an interesting and immersive take on the character. As much as I wanted 3rd person, I also didn't want another Uncharted shooting fest with easy puzzles and easy platforming, so my hopes are high again.
@@flythugga81 Well Uncharted was clearly inspired by Indiana Jones which in turn inspired modern action adventures like the reboot Tomb Raiders and some of us want a return to the more classic style of TR and Indy games instead of the same Uncharted formula.
@danigar I actually think the Tomb Raider games felt a lot better than the Uncharted games. Less movie-like action, more gritty. This looks totally different though, agree
Just by the trailer alone, it looks machine games has so much respect for the character and the franchise itself. I have faith in them, looks so promising!!!
@@Anarkyfloyd ikr... it's sad af what Disney did to the last Indiana Jones movie Harrison Ford will ever play in. I was soooo looking forward to it but when I saw the reviews and I won't be supporting their dem€nt€d woke agenda.
@Hikari_Sakurai Oh boy, you sure are in for a surprise if you believe this pos product of modern entertainment will be any different. Calling it right here and now.
I literally heard them say gay investigator the first time but the fact there trying not to talk about her at this point makes me hope it’s not another bait and switch.
Products will continue to be made for "modern audiences" until morale improves. It's too bad this game is likely going to be another casualty of woke ideology tho, hell the last Indiana Jones movie was a product of that and look how it ended up lmao
Eh, it's kinda the same way Temple of Doom actually sounds kinda terrible when you think about it from an outside perspective. It's part of the series' charm
Looks awesome so far, kinda wish they made it 3rd person with the mechanics of Uncharted, or maybe an option to switch between, but im still super excited :)
The composer is hitting it out of the park ... the John William's esque motifs are a perfect balance between reminiscent and still totally original. As a film music snob, I am absolutely thrilled to dive into this!
Machinegames was formed from previous developers from Starbreeze Studios in its Gold Days, and it shows here as well, especially at first-person combat, such as on 5:50.
@@yutro213 That was the exact moment for me where I thought "yep, they're really embracing their heritage". That felt *exactly* like the melee combat in Butcher Bay.
Todd and BGS can also learn a lot about first person combat from Arkane Studios. I'd love to see some functionality from Dishonored and the older Dark Messiah of Might & Magic. I've wanted to see Arkane's ideas and combat integrated with an Elder Scrolls game for decades. I love TES, but BGS is so behind the times in first person gameplay and they need to step it up.
@@Metallian81 Precisely! I want to be able to grab guard and move them before taking them out, either with a dagger or non-lethally To look down in first person and see the body of the character I spend 30 minutes creating
I like how the title cards in the beginning ignored the last two Indy movies. MachineGames is like, “Nah, we don’t talk about those things around here.” 😂
@@BonusEggs4Sale And you should learn to take a joke. Calling everyone a child, but you’re the one going around this video starting arguments with strangers over movies. You definitely still live with your mom.
