I suspect there were people in mesia who could not handle the impact and adoration Torres owned at Liverpool. They liked to see him flop. Liverpool was his first and last unconditional love. Atleti was different. He was an emotion at Liverpool, never at Atleti. He was free to love and b loced. And oh, how did he love and was loved! The derper the love, the stronger the hate when he left. @@annemariegutteridge4696 He was even more loved at atleti because they accepted him back with open arms even after he left. They consider him a legend, which he is, but sadly a lot of people refuse to call him this just because he faced some problems in the later stages of his career. I agree with the part where you said someone wanted to see him fail, but I suspect that someone (or multiple people even) were in the football world and not the media. The media seemed to adore him too; he was goodlooking, charismatic, very talented and humble from the heart not just for PR.
