This is also known as the "Mitch breathe" song. His breath control is insane. I watched them perform this live and still have no idea where he breathes.
There are quite a few Acapella groups who do an absolutely Wonderful job out there, but in my opinion PTX kicked the Acapella door open so that the genre can be recognized on a bigger scale/ platform than it ever has been before. And they've done it in such a humble and classy way.🤗
Since I found this, I've been basically watching and listening to this video on a loop! What the hell lungs does Mitch have?! He doesn't breathe! They're really 'fantamazing'!! And thank you for your reactions 🤗
IMO, this is their most intricate arrangement. I love the overlapping harmonies, and the shared bass melody with Scott and Avi is amazing. This one just blows me away every time I hear it. And, sheesh! Does Mitch even breathe?! LOL
So happy you are on the Pentatonix train! Keep them coming please. There are reasons why they have 3 Grammys, 19.5 million subscribers, and over 5.5 billion views.
I counted out his many ‘measures (beats) that Mitch sings without taking a breath (breath support)…22 measures without a breath…That’s about 55 seconds!😮
Lol! Seriously! I’ve seen this live and watched live performances just trying to catch him breathing SOMEWHERE! He doesn’t. He absorbs oxygen through his pores.
This was their first Christmas carol video way back in 2012. No doubt they've performed this song thousands of times and it's just as fabulous each time. As others have said, you should check out the performance from their Under the Stars concert on BYU TV. It's even more amazing than the video.
Hello D.....Oh....I knew you would love this. You said this "Fantastic" "Upgrade". Your head shaking and facial expressions say it all. My question for this song is always - When does Mitch breathe? Intricate arrangement. Pentatonix are masters of their craft for sure. Superb singing talent, great arrangements, ear candy, vocal gymnastics, creativity. Top of the game for sure. They did this song on BYUTV Christmas Under the Stars a few weeks ago --- you should check out that live performance of this recorded version - many years later. Pentatonix is just superb.
Check out their new live version from their Christmas under the stars performance (posted her on YT). It really shines on Mitch. I seriously do not understand how he did not faint - the guy doesn’t breath!! It is also a little view into how much they have changed and grown in 10 years. ❤️
they've been together as a group for 11 years but the trio has been friends since they were like 10 i believe. When you've been together that long you know how to work together and be this near to perfect as you can be group. Not sure what your Christmas music list looks like but I highly recommend their Live performance of Silent Night
In my opinion, they take Christmas songs thay everyone knows and make them into music people WANT to listen to. ALL OF THEM. It's September and I'm ready for a PTX mas. Rhank you for your reaction. As always, hope and joy to you and your family. Pass it on. =^;^=
It's really fun going on this journey with you! Your enjoyment is infectious. O Come All Ye Faithful should be on your PTX Xmas playlist if you haven't heard it. It's a classic. Also Where Are You Xmas?
Mitch doesn’t breathe. They were and are brilliant. And you are great. Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎁 I’ve heard Scott say in an interview that they sang together every single day for a year after they won the sing off trying to get better and better There is a cool 12 minute behind the scenes making the new Evergreen album on PTX Official. Might be fun for you to play. I enjoyed it so much.
Also, if you want to see how they "do it" watch the video PTX released yesterday, The Recording of Evergreen. It's fun to watch their creative process. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M60SKKkQLqo.html
Thank you for your reactions! I so appreciate your being honest and truthful and speaking from your heart. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a happy healthy 2022. 🌟🔥🔔🎄🎅
When you say "there are three groups that do this sort of things" .... I would say four groups, and add 'Citizen Queen' to the mix, imho the worlds best all female group in the genre. Brought together and mentored by Scott means you know the standard is very high and like PTX each member is superb at what they do and bring their A game every time. They have also supported PTX on Tour.
I’m with you man, it’s stupid how good they are!! 💚💫💙✨❤️🌙 I know you’ll get to it eventually, or maybe you already have, I’m about to go check, but Bohemian Rhapsody will blow your mind, and God rest ye merry gentlemen will do the same enjoy! Have a great day thanks for your awesome reactions as always✌️💕 ... just saw your Bohemian Rhapsody reaction, don't know how I missed it but it was great!
This is the PTX "rabbit hole". Alice in Wonderland also went down the rabbit hole where she saw and experienced things that were beyond her expectations. You are now in the PTX "rabbit hole". I always look forward to your reactions.
I think you would like to see the back end… how PTX actually decides on harmonies and who does what! It is totally mind blowing. Someone posted the link below. Please react !! I would you to share your thoughts
I like the other groups too, but PTX will always be the best. Just for something different you should check out for King and Country doing the Little Drummer Boy live...it's awesome
There are many more acapella bands than those 3. Vocative is a big one. Adam Chance, the Homefree baritone, came from Streetcorner Symphony and they backed up Avi Kaplan when he first started touring again after Pentatonix. Kaleb Thomas Jones, from Streetcorner, is Avi's bass player and high tenor in Avi's band today. Try Avi Kaplan's newest release from a month ago, "First Place I Go" to see and hear that. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LRpGURbB3LE.html Acapella is a very supportive community. All of Homefree just tweeted about A Capella Academy auditions that Avi, Rob Dietz and Ben Bram have been running since 2014 for 12-18 year old singers from around the world.
You need to react to ptx god rest ye merry gentlemen and mary did you know. Both phenomenal! You think this one is good, those two will blow your mind for sure!
Breathe MITCH!!!!!! good lord LOL! Couldn't agree more. The others are very good as well but....At 5 Billion+ You Tube views it would Take the next nearest group, (If they continued at current views level) only 54 years to catch up to PTX in views....if PTX quit completely right now. Just throwing that out there. Ya they are the best
Since you don’t know what to think anymore…. Let’s blow it a little further. Quick video about Avi: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2i61_JNc_Nc.html Now….. Go listen/watch their cover of Angels we have heard in High. 😁
