At a time when the Board of Water was telling residents to conserve 10% water, this tells us that the water supply is not unlimited. When are these big high-rise projects going to stop? Go ahead and keep building, one day we all going suffer with no water.

Goodluck to the investors and goodluck to the locals. I'm interested to see what Hawaii will be like in 5-10 years. It will be very interesting and very sad. Everything from erosion, water contamination and useless things that will be built. I wonder if the place we call home will be ok?

Absolutely not. We don’t yet know how much damage the red hill leak has done nor can we predict any spills that will happen between now and when red hill is drained. They can use sea water or treated wastewater ONLY. If they don’t like it they can sue the navy for compensation. Frankly the navy should be required to build hawaii a desalination plant and solar panels to power it.

Visitors go to Hawaii for the salt water waves, the buoyancy is different, the ride is different IF you use fresh water for your wave ride. Why not paint the decks baby blue or white and use salt water ? That way people will need to shower off the salt, complete circle.

I think I have figured it out. If they use ocean water it will cost them a considerable amount of shut down time and money to clean their system out from the deposits left by the ocean water. It's always about the money.

They should not be using our precious drinking water for their wave pool and they should have some sort of desalinize or machine to filter out salt water for their wave pool. The developer sounds like a foreigner last Name. Hawaii should have a law that you need to be born and raised in Hawaii or be here as a resident for at least 10 years before you can buy land for home or business due to the limited resources.

Who needs this? You have the whole ocean to surf on. Using potable water for this pool is nuts. Island people aren't going to be able to pay the prices that will be charged. Hawaii needs what water is has for its own needs, not for recreating. Bad idea.

I would rather see a surf park or surf lake would be much enjoyable…but those things should be based on location where it is hard for people to get to the beach. Hawaii has so many nice places to surf that it seems this is not useful..🤷‍♂️🧐
