The reason oil has grown so much is because it was recovering from all time lows due to production increases in oil by Russia and OPEC and Covid19 no want to traveling, thus not needing oil (it went negative Apr 2020) .

Yeah, but these commodities don't just exist in a vacuum. They have to be stored. The amount of space you'd need for 25 barrels is pretty huge, depending on location, will easily surpass 2000 USD over a year. And then you'd have to somehow contact a refinery or a reseller who'll come pick it up for a lower price (because the guy has to, you know, account for the price of shipping and convenience).

That $1,000 worth of oil is worth $1800 today. Silver has actually gone down. Was about $25 a year ago, about $23 an ounce now, but it fluctuates a lot and if you want to profit just wait until it's over $25. The Amazon stock has gone up and down a bit but is currently only worth about $200 a share more, so like $60+ more right now. Everything else they gave is likely worth a lot less now, but that's to be expected.

For those wondering, there is no way they bought a physical barrel and have it shipped to them. No company would send crude oil to a residential address as crude oil is extremely toxic and releases hydrogen sulphide gas which will kill you at 0.07% concentration. You need extremely efficient ventilation and scrubbers to store crude oil without dying.

Michael is the only one to really get the white elephant challenge for 2 reasons: 1) no one in the OTV house can actually use oil in this sense, let alone 25 barrels of it. 2) its _crude_ oil, and so is useless unless fractionally distilled, which is really hard to do. Basically, its good for nothing.
