Getting back out onto the trails for the first time since cracking the Extreme's rim. I usually ride MTB trails every weekend, new boots and a couple weekends off and I felt like one of those baby deer that can barely walk XD
Ill be uploading the group dirt ride in Anaheim Hills soon.
I will also be uploading a requested pad setup video soon I haven't forgotten! Just had one to many wheels with issues lately, needed time to regroup and catch up on repairs, which is difficult when you work out of town haha. Me and my wheels are ready to get back at now!

Nice trails! Challenging but not death defyingly so. Too bad I dont have much of these in my neck of the woods besides the fact we had a major snow dump last few days so def no trails for me. Maybe a bit of bike pathways...maybe perhaps. So jealous of you guys in sunny Cal PS: your rant on the c40 vs c38 & lighter rim/motor is called technically called unsprung weight. And yes, unsprung weight works best for handling which is why auto racing have high tech light rims. Big dollars tho

Man, I wish there were trails like that where I live.

Good perspectives on a trail wheel. Unfortunately for you, you're in a niche activity in a niche sport 🙂so you may have to wait until people start creating custom wheels from the supply of available parts. I think that's coming in the next few years.

That’s the real dream, reliable/quality/standardized parts that can be sourced and built at home like custom drones have been doing. Pick your favorite frame by suspension travel and wheel size, bolt on electronics cockpit and batteries, pick your motor, rim, etc. 😍😍😍 🙏🙏🙏 💸💸💸

So is the dream wheel the commander gt that’s coming?

That is still a 14”rim / ~20”tire euc. Also not a lightweight shell, it has the exact shell as Cmini. I would love to replace my master with a Commander GT, but I am soo curious about the Master Pro size tire. I just don’t want all the battery weight of a 100+ mile euc on trails

How has the extreme been? I feel it would have done a good job on these trails.
@trubttam

Extreme has been ok, mines getting squeaky I gotta see what's up with that, 16" tire just feels more sketchy on the rocky sections.

@@trubttam I really want a s22 I just don't want to be fixing it all the time 😅

A larger diameter wheel would definitely help with rolling over terrain, but I would be concerned with weight, durability, and gyro effect. All of the large diameter wheels I've tried all felt super lazy when it came to handling and I had to really throw a lot of body weight at them to get them to turn. Granted, this is all on street with street tires so gyroscopic effect is maximized so maybe it would be less of an issue on dirt. That said, for somebody who "barely walk" after not riding for a while, that pace on that trail is way faster than I could ever go on my best day 🤣

I mean that just sounds better and better to me lol I really don't like how any little bit of steering input makes a 16" like t4 or extreme turn so much

@@trubttam Ah, I do not have any experience with the 16 inch wheels. I've always stuck to 18/20 as a compromise middle ground. If you wanted to frankenstein a wheel, it would be pretty easy to take a master pro, stick 2400wh master packs on it and give it a go. The only other concern at that point is whether the height of the chassis knocking your knees bothers you or not

Hey TRUB. Which spring do you run on the og s22 and what do you weigh? Also do you prefer the air shock on the Pro? Enquiring minds want to know 😊
@trubttam
@trubttam 11 месяцев назад
I weigh like 190 geared and like the air shock i have on my pro a lot, I run the stock 750lb dnm coil on a dvo shock on my og and its ok but I feel like the 750lb spring has gotten softer. I've tried the 900lb spring but it was too stiff. Air shock is at max psi but it feels the best to me, fox float x2 with volume reducers.

@@trubttam Thanks mate. I always appreciate reliable advice. I just installed the 900 spring and am finding it too stiff as well.

I come from Dirtbikes(average tire size is 20”) riding a mountain bike with 26” tires felt extremely sketchy to me. I think 18-20” is ideal for an EUC. Bigger or smaller is a mistake. The S22 is heavy and not super nimble and doesn’t have nearly enough torque…I don’t mind downhill but myself I’d prefer the EUC offroad jump sport to adapt to more of a motocross setting with a loupe track with laps rather than time trials.
@bradmoles5088
@bradmoles5088 11 месяцев назад
You are spot on about decreasing battery size…quick change batteries would be ideal to keep weight low. Also would allow to make the wheel super thin. I miss my thin/nimble S18 but can’t sacrifice the S22 power and suspension linkage
@trubttam
@trubttam 11 месяцев назад
yeah there's just a lot of wheels out there already for that type of riding. Its like one company drops a wheel and then everyone copys it. No one has tried to release a larger tire suspension wheel with mid capacity packs tho i really wanna try it. @@bradmoles5088

dirt bikes get the luxery of having the large tire in the front to roll over stuff easier and the smaller tire in the back for torque. DH mtb is all gravity so no torque needed, also the 26" tires are the old school ones people ride even bigger tires now @@bradmoles5088
