I have a 2023 Bronco. Paid sticker, but still 50k. It’s never seeing anything more than a dirt road. My used 2015 Xterra cost 19k. She’s for wheeling. New cars are too expensive. I bought my Bronco for looks. I won’t deny it.

@@one277 Walnut Creek Ford near SF Bay Area sold me my 2D V6 black diamond in velocity blue this Saturday. Sticker price, no mark up. Only problem is low inventory. They sell fast. Took the blue one because I just missed an eruption green base Sasquatch 2D V6. It was on the lot for 3-4 days and I missed it because I was going to shop interest rates. Got lucky another 2D came in. Good luck to you.

I have a modified TRX with $125k in it and I bomb it off road at least 2-3x per month. You only live once in these types of vehicles are designed to be abused off-road.

The funny thing about Jeep is, corporate greed & dealers are killing that brand too. The Wrangler sport (base trim) in my area is 31k on the website only. At the dealership it’s 48k. If anyone is looking for an off-road truck, they should look at the used market, or the dealership is still going to rob you blind!

My Bronco sits clean and waxed. My Xterra still has dirt from my last camping trip. Why when the Bronco is technically more capable? Bronco was 50k new, used Xterra 19.5k.

There is a really nice AMC Eagle that's built out for overlanding...it's a nice build. Sleeps in the rear, nice roof rack, etc. I'd love to have it.

I had an 04’ Xterra ( round headlights) until I bought a 100 series Land Cruiser. The Xterra probably had another 100k in it, I regret selling it, one of the last Nissans that was still reliable before Renault messed them up.

I complained ad nauseam about vehicle prices especially the Bronco since I was burned at launch with my October 2021 reservation. Years later I got one for sticker this weekend. Still expensive at $49,800 at Walnut Creek Ford. Had to drive to the SF Bay Area, but this dealership doesn’t mark up Broncos. Give them a shot, I had a good experience. Velocity Blue Black Diamond non-Sasquatch 2 door V6 with mid package, roof rails, and tow package. New build and price orders are more expensive, so technically I got a deal. That said, I’m never wheeling it at 50k. I have my 2015 Xterra Pro-4X for dirt and overlanding.

I like the cheap Jeep idea but it would help if you showed pictures of the cars as you talk about them, and if you published the list as a table, with what make "the right one". By time I get to the end I forget what you started with. :( And include the cost comments (for maintenance). Oh, and I want an off roader that can tow 7500 lbs. 4 times a year.

I have a gen 1 Xterra ('02) that I have modified pretty heavily myself. Calmini is good stuff, but if you order parts from them, they will never ship the product. Ask me how I know! I did find second hand Calmini parts and had to make my own bushings for them to be able to use them, but it is overall a great product. And FYI, you can pick up a 2000-2004 Xterra 4wd for less than $2k, and decently fixed up for less than $5k.

Have a few unique 4x4, but helps to have some fab skills. I have the 1986 Suzuki Samurai and an old 2 door 1987 Montero. Just acquired a Suzuki x90 I plan to lift and build up too. Love small offroad rigs!

Hey Roman and Nathan! I bought a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sport 2.0 e torque last October with only 24K miles on it. I have done a few upgrades to it and a couple repairs and still don't have in it what a new one would cost. It looks like a new one. I bought it to do my running around town and maybe a short trip on the weekend. After having had the lifter problem in my truck and not wanting to add more mileage to either my truck or car, I bought the Jeep. The only trails this will see are the paved ones and maybe a little snow in the winter. Never having had a jeep before I never knew how much fun they are to drive (after I had the darn aluminum steering box replaced with the steel one). My wife even likes riding in it and for a city girl that says a lot. Enjoyed the video guys as I enjoy all of them you do. Thanks for both the information and entertainment!

I had a Trooper, can't remember what year 95? 98? Loved it except for one thing: it burned oil from day 1 (Brand new). At least 1 quart per thousand miles. Though it was new under warranty, they wold ( or could ) not fix it. Said that was normal. So it had to go.

Maybe I missed it, but why weren’t CJs on the list? They’re easy to maintain and you can pick up a pretty nice CJ7 for the mid $20k, much less if you want a project.

The new wrangler has a lot more then what you just stated, increased airbags, towing capabilities increased alot, new rear axle, standard features improved like adapative cruise and led lights, don’t forget new antenna design,

I have a 2015 Xterra Pro-4X. It’s great if you can get a 2010-2015 after the SMOD issue got fixed. Personally I love the 4L V6. Thirsty, but I’m hesitant on selling it even with a 2D V6 Bronco next to it. That 2.7 eco boost is just okay.

Is Jeep slowly and quietly getting rid of the 3.6 in wranglers? I may be mistaken but I dont even think you can get a new sahara with the 3.6. Kind of a bummer. That 2.0 isnt very good. Great podcast guys.

People need to talk about it more… if you want to go off-road for cheap, a dirt bike will do it. More ‘fun’ than a jeep, will do trails quicker, and can be lugged in the back of your daily driver pickup (or even suv with a hitch).

First generation Durangos are cheap and capable. V8 engines with solid rear axle. 1998 through 2004 are the best. You can get these for under 2K. I have 99 with a 360, limited slip that was a government spec with all skid plates and heavy duty cooling etc. $300 is all I paid. $400 for a 2 inch lift of a add a leaf and Key swap. I also got a 1998 Durango with a 318 94,000 miles for $1500.

For a Canadian in the province de quebec it is 50349$ completely nude canadian dollars for jeep sport. Do not move north. Because there is no stock they try i say try to sale them. We are at war (economic war with the part mfrs I do not have to name him. It about time we (the productors Gm, Ford etc) to brig back the business or find multiple suppliers .

Anyone notice Nathan like Midget small and Foreign made. My advice Rockcrawler older Jeep as a lot have been nothing but mail crawlers just buy from a non salt state. Overland a older 4Runner. For both just go old enough for your price range.
