Another Awesome Fishing adventure with FishingMad. This time Al and Russell are fishing at Portland the Mecca of fishing in Victoria. Due to unpleasant 50 kilometre winds we bypass the Bluefin Tuna and instead decide to do some bottom bashing and trolling. This ends up being an amazing day on the water with non stop fishing action. Countless catches, dolphins everywhere in a remarkable fishing system that is exciting and thriving. Our trolling lures were smashed by countless toothy critters which left teeth marks all over these irresistible lures in what was a fun and exciting session.
Gear used
Storm Thunder Barra 11cm in Chartreuse Scale colour
Daiwa Double clutch 95 in laser perch
Penn Levelwind GT 340 Overhead Combo
Atomic Arrowz 10-25 lb rod with Saragosa sw 6000 reel
Follow our fishing adventures by kayak, boat, land & jet ski with lures & bait targeting saltwater, freshwater & estuary species. The channel is fun, relatable, and features world class fishing action, product reviews and tips.

It's amazing how you can be so enthusiastic and surprised after catching fifty identical fish.

I cry vac them and the next few fishing trips i have bait sorted. It is a lot better using local caught bait then buying packet bait that has been frozen for ages. What does not get used on the day i defrost it is kept, re frozen and turned into berly logs so nothing is wasted .

All were used as bait and food. Nothing went to waste.

I hear ya. Yeah im not much better with sea sickness either. Was ok when we were on the move but being stationary and bouncing around like a washing machine wasn't great for me.

Happy Easter and thanks for the content. Couple things for VFA, need those tables to have lights at Portland. Also VFA can you please setup lights above the frankston foreshore table(only one…) And Same for Olivers Hill which has none… Daveys bay, Seaford, Mordialloc etc etc. Thanks for the content Alan, I know you have VFAs ear. Cheers

Hi Alan, you have often mentioned you get somewhat sea sick. What routine do you follow that helps, do you take anything? Thank George
@fishingmad
@fishingmad Год назад
Hey George, yeah struggled with sea sickness for many years although I've got a lot better with it in recent years. I've trailed most of the tablets and wrist straps the only one I've had some success with is Kwells. If the cond are gonna be poor ill take them before going to bed and about an hour before hitting the water that day. I pre rig everything to minimize needing to look down. Lots of water and eat lightly and nothing heavy. I usually just have rolls and crackers. Over time ive become much better but going offshore can still stir me up.

I worked as a deckie for my old man's charter boat in the holidays and weekends growing up. I would occasionally get sick for some reason, usually on a glass out calm day actually! I started just taking a Travacalm as soon as I woke up before leaving home and it always worked wonders. If you do get sick the best thing is to jump overboard and have a swim, can be a bit daunting out at the shelf with a burley trail set up but it 100% cures the awfulness!!! 😂

Hi Alan Do you see squid on the fishfinder?
@fishingmad
@fishingmad Год назад
The high end fish finder can pickup squid. I usually spend more time looking for weed beds and clear water.
