First day I could finally get out after surgery chasing black fin tuna . Tom and I set out early didn’t see a ton of people hooked up vote was early . Mannn that was awesome and hilarious all at the same time! It’s such an adrenaline rush! I may have missed the windo this year. But I remember last year like it was yesterday. Dope!

Thanks buddy , we got plenty of time to do some awesome stuff this year . It just felt good to get out there after the Amazon . I never thought I would catch a tuna out of a yak maybe a tarpon or sail next ? Would be crazy

@@leeannewinchester5529 I always wear it in deep water , I probably should wear it always but in shallow water next to docks I don’t ,unless I have too tournament rules . I’ve had a bunch of mishaps on the water I’ve been thru the ringer .

Depends on the time of year gotta have the right weather , water temps , and bait . This one I caught puked up a bunch of squid before I gaffed it

But as far as close it just depends on the day , I’ve kinda noticed when it’s colder they’re in closer . As summer approaches they’ll be further out but we’ll get different fish in like cobia , kings , sails , etc

I’ve seen the guides in Venice do it , my first yellowfin they made me bite a piece out of the still beating heart taste like old Pennies , it’s close to the gills

What rod and reel are you using?

Penn battle 6000 reel , rod was a penn squadron 3 7’6” medium . I only used it because I had 50 pound braid already on it and I had a Topwater with me so it was a dual purpose setup . If you wanna be more dialed in as far as right setups just let me know .

Ahhhh a lot of setups will work , I would say nothing less than 30 pound line a medium heavy rod 4000 size spinning reel leader line flourocarbon 30#-60# I think I used 40 this day
