I grew up seeing this in South Florida and Ga. It was so popular in the hood that a lot of us used the movements before realizing where they came from. My girls uncle who was in prison in the south was the one who showed me

@@smurf_n_wesson9064 no....jailhouse rock came before 52 ands its called jhr in new york and new jersey. I learned that jhr came before 52 but it has the fundamentals. The next generation took jhr and took it to another level and then ppl started calling it 52 blocks. JHR is boxing based. 52 was preferred bcuz it used angles not normally used in boxing.

@@MasterChee7 No. They aren’t the same styles, and it’s called 52 Blocks in NY and NJ. I’m from Brooklyn. 52 origins didn’t have shit to do with jhr, only thing in common is both mastered in Jail.

@@smurf_n_wesson9064 they not the same but apart of the lineage. first stato then jhr then 52. jhr is basic.... dudes got creative, more deceptive.... and 52 came about. thats y some ppl called 52 blocks freestyle. it has the fundamentals of jhr but the fighters and 5pcters took it too another level.

It is very possible that it was taught through people who have made a hybrid of the art, and came up with it unprecedented. Sounds more legendary, and dangerous (but,what knife attack isn't) than practical. But, who knows, maybe dude got lucky, and his threads protected his arteries through the funky rhythm (movement), one day, and he thought, "how can I replicate this to make it mine, and teach it to my people". If that was the case, couldn't really blame the guy, could you??¿?

@bbkingme8831

Them styles ain't got a chance vs east coast. Philly, ny. Especially 80s. In the 80s. Atl Texas etc was completely clueless to street sh. Especially style wise. The south is the same. The east jus was ahead. So imagine the east being the top. But the south has the same ppl from the same DNA cloth who just caught on later. Everybody the same. Its jus the fami,y is down south. Everybody was down south. The small amount of east coast dudes invented it. But let's not forget we all the same and we all come from the DNA of the south where our fam is

Reading these comments I can tell the majority of you got your information about 52blocks/Jailhouse from social media. 😂😂 I was exposed to Jailhouse/52 back in the 70’s. The majority of you youngsters think RU-vid invented this particular style of fighting. Shoutout to Bolo, Big Wise, Glassman, Hommo aka Homicide, Tweety Love, who were all masters of the 52blocks
