No matter what version of the game you put in the console will recognize it as if it where the 360 remaster GTA San Andreas. As you can see I put in the GTA San Andreas OG Xbox versión and the opening was that of the Xbox 360.

I'm really careful with my games. I always grab the CDs the proper way. Not the way most people just grab and get all the fingerprints on the reflection side. And then people wonder why their games don't read. Lol if I see someone do that to my games I would literally get mad

See what people dont realize is that it still reads it as the 360 version. Back in the day Rockstar replaced the xbox originals version of SA with the remaster. The Xbox One reads the OG Xbox cd as the 360 version. I know because I played it that way

@@michaelhunt6920 that's the thing with Xbox backwards compatibility. I was sold on it till I realised that. I think the Xbox 360 supports more Xbox original games I'd go with that setup with a series X for Xbox one games. I'm going with ps5 and ps3 back compat setup.

The disc is essentially just a verification key on Xbox back compat games. The console downloads a digital version and reads that. So even if your disc is scratched to hell, it'll still work

@@jarg8 yeah, it's like a key, it only wouldn't work if the disc was *extremely* scratched - the xbox is connected online and plays the remastered xbox 360 version anyway. (you can play the OG version of the game on xbox 360 back compact with the disc tho).

Bought the og trilogy on my ps4 2 weeks ago and beat 3, halfway with vice, and halfway with san. I used to play them ALL the time on ps2 way back then. Can't wait to see if definitive edition does anything good.

NB: The answer is NO. It only causes a DL of the mobile port to be installed, and doesn't use the disc's version - the PS2 port. It looks and plays better though, but the radio has been stripped of some DJs and music. The disc won't work at all without Internet connection.
