Remember guys, even if it's obvious to you, it might not be obvious to your viewers. I'm not as familiar with AoS, so having the explanations of relics, spells, objectives, etc is always valuable to me.
I find Gargants to be a bit boring, but they did have a 2nd edition matchup of Sons vs Seraphon. What I'd have liked to see here is the mastadon ogres rather than boring ogres!
Yes! Love the Steg list!!! Swap out one Steggy for an EoTG (same exact price point) and you gain a TON of abilities. EoTG is a hero and a priest (give him heal or curse), can summon warriors, can heal all units in an AOE, can do mortal wounds, and can dish out a ton of damage in combat with Prime Warbeast + Great Drake!!
@@Dreamkeeper762 For sure! Use those extra points for a unit of Guard and a Skink Priest (gives +1 to hit for Bastiladon unitl next hero... so +1 to hit for the double shoot and any Unleash Hell it might need to do). Maybe something like this: Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Thunder Lizard - Grand Strategy: Beast Master - Triumphs: Inspired Leaders Engine of the Gods (265)*** - General - Command Trait: Prime Warbeast - Artefact: Amulet of Destiny (Universal Artefact) - Universal Prayer Scripture: Heal Slann Starmaster (265)*** - Artefact: Fusil of Conflaguration - Spell: Stellar Tempest Skink Priest (80)*** - Universal Prayer Scripture: Heal Battleline 5 x Saurus Guard (115)*** Stegadon (265)* - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Stegadon (265)* - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Stegadon (265)* - Weapon: Skystreak Bow Behemoths Bastiladon with Solar Engine (235)** Bastiladon with Solar Engine (235)** Core Battalions *Hunters of the Heartlands **Alpha-Beast Pack ***Warlord Additional Enhancements Artefact Total: 1990 / 2000 Reinforced Units: 0 / 4 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 83 Drops: 9
Hey so, when you get the cp in the hero phase. You have to nominate the hero to receive it first. But most of all. It's only for that turn. Not the whole.battle round. Keep up the great work!
Josh, aside from the deployment, some other considerations for your list is to take Blubbergrub Stench to make all your Ironblasters count as monsters for trampling charge. At least would give you a threat of some good mortal wounds on the charge while moving up and shooting. To the same point could have tried to cast the Ghur spell to turn a hero into a monster that would have also helped with trampling. Beyond that, the Ironguts would have been a great target for a few Rally commands during the game. Just some ideas.
Don't judge your list, Steve, on this match up. Coalesced is a hard counter to ogres. Try it against other stuff I feel like it will be a better match.
there's a reason why I love the Bastilodon so much, other than emulating my favorite Dino the Ankylosaurus, it's also a legitmate tank of a beast that only mortal wounds can hurt. awesome seraphon win.
@@YuGiOhAbridgeFAN When they launched in 6th they were reasonably strong, and had unique mechanics. The final WHFB book killed the uniqueness and that kinda carried over to the AoS book.
Love the ogor list! Would be great against a melee centric army, hard work against that strong seraphon shootcast list tho lol! Great looking armies and intro guys!
From the point of view of a person who likes close, exciting games, this game was meh. But from the point of view as someone who loves Seraphon, this game was AMAZING
Any fun battlereport! That hill really did suck for the ogors. Loosing 1 turn of shooting :-( I do think that round 3, Josh would have scored his battle tactic as underguts have range 18" on the leadbelchers guns, would have finished off the targeted stegadon rather than 2 wounds to the blue 1. And I really like the new flashy format guys
you are right Steve. Shooting is still meta, but as a Khorne player, i, and others, just have to find ways to get around it. in my group of friends, we have a Seraphon player that used to spam skinks before reinforcements got changed. skinks were evil........haven't played them in 3rd. but in 2nd they were a menace lol
I have a quick question, I was wondering if I am gering the rule for line of Sight wrong or I am just seeing it wrong because u guys are playing it (it seems like it) that the shooting unit can see throw the own army ? But in the rule text it says that u only can see through the unit’s models ? Could u explain to me if I am getting something wrong ? How ever best battle raps on YT thanks guys keep up the good work! 👍🏼
Great battle report, I am just starting out ogor mawtribes and i got 2 questions! Can my ogors stay in line even when they are with 6 models? Of does coherency prevents this? And can units shot into units that are in combat themself? Greetings!
Thanks fot the BR it could have been a really cool one. Unfortunately it was rather boring because of the lack of balance of these two armies. Both shooting lists and Steve absolutely destroyed Josh despite having bad luck!!! @Josh: at some point you said Underguts are not terrible. They are. Especially the cannons with a damage output of maybe 3,5 on average AFTER being buffed... So bad I just hope it gets better with the new book. It's not that I must play the most strongest army but if it is so weak it's frustrating. Unfortunately true not only for Ogor Underguts...
"My grand strategy will be keep a battleline alive, obviously"... sure, it's not like you have an army of monsters to keep alive with Beastmaster, eh? :)
And on that note, since Kroak is the only one that issues a command, he can't issue both All Out Attack and the shoot again for a bastilladon in the same phase.
I'll bite. Khemist, navi, and mini gun. Under cut for triumph. 2s Rerolling hits n wounds. Balloooners 2 Edrin 1 ward as battleline. Last word. Free port settle grudges, wars with haste, no trading.
Honestly, I'd love the content if it wasn't for the handheld cam. Watching over an hour of shaky footage is just dizzying. It'd be really nice to at least get a stabilizer (or a better one?) or invest in a legitimate multi-camera setup. It would bump up the quality tenfold. Otherwise this is quite fun gameplay.
Throughout the video you kept saying they wound on a 3+ when with the gruesome trophy your hitting on 3+'s wounding on 2+. I may be wrong, sorry if I am
@@Dragonbrother4057 I just re-watched some of my shooting phases and called it wounding on 2+ each time? Maybe you can help me find the part you're referring to?
@@Shammy_Boots In the hero phase, pick 1 friendly SERAPHON WIZARD. You can add 1 to casting or dispelling rolls for that wizard if it is your hero phase, or 1 to unbinding rolls in the enemy hero phase
Hmm. Josh forgets hungry extra movement for ogors. Choosing hold the line instead of beast master in thunder lizard. I see professional table game company still needs help.
@@mwgjosh5161 I think I just thought that because you didn’t take any objectives the first turn. Are y’all on a 6’ by 4’ instead of a 60” by 44”? You should have easily captured the middle and right objective with 8” and run
@@Commander2012Games Yeah but shouldn't affect the distance from objectives to edge of deployment. I just deployed crappy around that rock as discussed in the post game.
@@mwgjosh5161 for sure that rock was not good for you ha. Still I think future reports should strive for the correct board. Mark off a foot from one of the short edges and lose 2” on each long and you’re good to go. Each rectangle section is 11” by 15” so objective marking should be easier too. As an aside looking forward to the next bolt action report.
