This song is the trailer music from "Join the Ogre Kingdoms | Total War: WARHAMMER III Early Adopter Bonus Reveal" trailer. This is just a simple video I put together for all those who really enjoyed the song. All I did for this video was loop it a few times in the most practical/tasteful way and alter some of the trailer visuals a little. Hope you enjoy!

My favorite part about this is that it could believably not even be a loop. The Ogres could literally just be singing them repeatedly, that one Ogre keeps going back for more platters of Skink seconds, and everyone’s still chomping & drinking while Greasus establishes dominance every now and then with a massive belch. I love the beautiful simplicity of the Ogre Kingdoms

@@erlint I was referring to the use of horn cups for drinking a mead-like substance, on further inspection there was also the more stereotypically medieval attire of Greasus and the Scottish-Irish accents, the stereotypical scando-barbarian or gaelic-barbarian attitudes that as I said, when all mixed together with the major central Asian influences allow for an an amazing yet hard to describe atmosphere. Like all the "barbaric" attributes of every culture and race homogenized into one singular form

I know it's just a funny, memetic post, but being a huge WHFB-nerd I can't help myself: The Ogres actually are deathly afraid of the Maw, since the meteor impact that created it forced them to migrate from their homeland and live as nomads, with some older lore implying that the neverending hunger that makes the Ogres into what we know and love was also mysteriously brought on by the impact, sort of a fantasy radiation-poisoning that manifested itself in extreme hunger pangs whenever the Ogres weren't eating wagonloads of stuff (more recent lore seems to retcon this somewhat). Hope at least someone finds this interesting

It isn't meant to. "Consume" is the bit that corresponds to "stew." The "comin' to get ya" line is a non-rhyming bit after the previous rhyming scheme of "they scream and they run but that's part of the fun."

It's an Anachronism made to emphasize the aggression of ogres and "shock" you. You know it's supposed to be "get you", it makes sense, but having it break the obvious pattern you're expecting is an intentional choice to evoke a sense of violation to an obvious aesthetic sense we all share towards patterning. It fits perfectly with Ogres especially after that previous stanza about catching running and screaming stragglers and throwing them in a stew.

As was said above, it's not exactly a limerick but it follows the same linguistic principle. It has rhyming verse followed by a non-rhyming "jig" meant to punctuate the sentence and end the stanza. A jig is usually longer or shorter sentence by just a few syllables which is meant to give the speaker a mental cue of when to cut the verse and begin a new one. It is very common in Celtic, Bohemian, Basque, and Nordic storytelling and is heavily used in poetry of languages for which most of the population was at first illiterate because it made them easier to remember than just a long wall of regular paced stanzas, as was common in languages like Latin.
