But at three months old the seizures hit like an earthquake

Doctors called it epilepsy, they called it Dravets
Every seizure stormed through your eyes like hurricanes
With every surge you were slipping away
Seizure numbers climbing up into the hundreds each day
Oh Charlotte, your parents prayed and prayed
Tried everything they could but you were drifting away

That this flower had a history of being taboo

This plant kept the seizures and the pains at bay

But the plant was rare, hard to procure
