I have literally watched scores of "Oh Darling" covers. Most are lame. This is a very difficult song to sing, which shows the genius of McCartney. Mike's version is one of the best, if not the best, versions of this song on RU-vid. Nice going, Mike!
wohoo....this canadian guy rox...man you are the man! you are incredible! realy fantastic voice! greetings from slowenia-Europe! =) i wish i had a voice like you...i'm also a singer...but i'm still working on my voice in my band! anyway...this is the best performance! just keep on rockin! B)
I like this cover, I like the eco voice efect, you have good voice man. I am agree to, you do not need the eco efect you have good voice, but sounds great, I like the eco efect. it give like a magic touch to the song.
Just to point out... I'm playing to a midi track from my laptop, which is playing the drums/bass/keyboards. And the echo is a 256ms delay, which is very similar to the slap back echo heard on the original version of the song with Paul singing...which is why this is a cover version, and not my own version.
Thanks man...I hear ya!! My new version of this song I'm doing is a little more tamed. I also slowed the tempo down quite a bit to make it more my own version... I have to do this TV show again soon, maybe I'll post the new version!! Thanks for checking it out..peace!!
I like it very much... he put down the pitch of the song to his voice.. and sounds diffrent, and better than everyone singin it too high.. and he`s not trying to emulate paul`s voice... to me is a fine version... I miss a guitar solo in the middle .. he seems to be a good player.
I know..I know... It's my live rig, which needs the effects up enough to hear it thru my PA. They took a direct feed from my board for my first appearance on the show. I've been on 25 times since then and always remember to tone down the live effects sound...
because your voice is really good. You don't need all that echo man. I thought the drums were to whacky. just tone down the playback and give the voice more room dude! rock on!
