My favorite song from Paul. I would say it's my favorite Beatles song, but honestly, I don't see how anyone can have an ultimate favorite among them all!

Agreed. VERY few people have a favorite OVERALL Beatles song. Other than this one, mine are "Something", "Don't Let Me Down", and "Octopus' Garden".

Seriously though. When I have kids, I am only letting them listen to music like this. None of this new music, just the old classics. I grew up in the 90's and my dad showed me this great music.

Lennon liked the song but thought he was better suited to take the lead. "It was more my style than his" Lennon argued "If he had any sense he would have let me sing it."

How can someone like the "Across The Universe" version better? That woman can't sing at all, even though she's a girl she sings in a lower key than Paul, and she can't do the high screams and with the powerful voice that Paul does (not to mention the beautiful backin' vocals of John and George)...So...Sorry guys, but the Beatles Original version beats all the rest.

woah woah woah WOAH at what point did i even SUGGEST that kesha is on the same music level as bach??? i am not a fan of most chart music, it's not to my taste, and neither is it yours clearly, but if someone does that doesnt make them any less of a human and it is absurd to believe they only like it because they've been brainwashed and had no choice (i would actually say they are better people than you who thinks people who like chart music can't think for themselves and have it bred into them)

You make a great point, but Most of (2013) Chart Music is total shit anyone can make at home with the right software. You wouldn't even need vocals or talent for that matter, like politics producers have been overthrown by money and greed they know Nikki and Weezy's music sounds like shit, But people continue to buy it and make those guys money then they come to the producers with all this cash and well.... It's hard to say no to several $100,000.

Great singing by Paul! - Wikipedia: "McCartney later said of recording the track, "When we were recording 'Oh! Darling' I came into the studios early every day for a week to sing it by myself because at first my voice was too clear. I wanted it to sound as though I'd been performing it on stage all week." He would only try the song once each day; if it was not right he would wait until the next day, in order to make sure he got every precious first take right.

brainwashed??? everyone has their own personal tastes, and just because they enjoy listening to chart music it doesnt mean they havent made their own choice what to listen to. Brainwashed suggests they were forced to. People arent forced to listen to chart music. Just like you werent forced to listen to the beatles. I dont give a shit that you're 14, please dont act like you're more of a human because you dont listen to chart music

Here is my view on teenage Beatles fans that are girls. I myself am a teenage girl, but when my friends tell me how much they love the Beatles, it's usually accompanied by "John was so handsome" or "Paul's eyes are gorgeous!". I find that most teenage girls will be attracted to the Beatles because they were good looking guys, but when you try to talk to them about the later years in their careers, they're clueless. There's a difference between being a fan, and liking boys. All eras were great.

McCartney shows off his incredible vocal range. Pure high notes are replaced by gravelly high notes in later verse and chorus. A beautifully pure voice gives way to one with more feeling and rasp. If you thought Lennon was the Beatles, think again. McCartney wrote far more songs, and has a huge vocal range. Unbelievably he was just the bassist in the band, but can play any instrument. Someone once said of poor old Ringo that he wasn't even the best drummer in the band, guess who was!

Yep. It was Feb. 7th to be exact. It was a long fuckin' time ago and I still remember everything but the exact date like it was yesterday! I remember I was in the 3rd grade in '63-'64 and that's why I assumed without checking that it was '63. In the 4th grade, I remember "being" Ringo Starr (complete with moptop and Beatle-boots) up on stage w/our own "Beatles" band as entertainment for a school assembly, we lip-synced "l Want To Hold Your Hand" ('63) before a cheering crowd. Beatlemania!

i think that this is very rude because ik that i listen to One Direction and I love and have loved the Beatles since I was a very little girl and I know that a very large majority of my friends feel the same way. the 74 dislikes could be for many different reasons and someone could just as easily dislike the Beatles AND One Direction. Both bands are talented and you can have your opinion without being rude to other people and their opinions.

Niece tribute, but since you are clearly aware that this is a Paul song, why all the single shots of George? The way this vid focuses on George, you would think "Oh Darling" was a George song. I take it that George is your favorite Beatle. I love George too, but although JL is my favorite, I saw a youtube of "Taxman" focusing on JL, not George, which kind of bugged me for the same reason. But, thank you for posting this.

I am 13, and I agree with you. Except, I think that the only reason I wouldn't want to grow up in the 1960's because of fear of going to war in Vietnam (I am American). But if that never happened, I would LOVE to grow up then. I could see Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, ETC. it would be fantastic! Well anyways, peace and love to you and everyone you care about and thanks for reading. :-)

@rockstarchick10 If you're the "biggest Beatles fan ever," then you definitely should have known that "Oh! Darling" was their song. And you wouldn't need a reality show contestant's performance to introduce you to it. My comment was not meant to be insulting, but if that's how you take it, then I can't control that. I still stand by it because since the first episode aired, there have been less and less comments from people about Juliet, which supports my assertion of prior bandwagoning.

Honestly, I'm not a huge Beatles fan. I liked Paul McCartney better by himself. I did hear this on The Voice first but I love this version better. It's made me appreciate Paul McCartney and The Beatles more. I know all the Beatles fans are sick of the people coming on this video and spouting about Juliet Simms but if it weren't for The Voice I wouldn't have discovered this respect for The Beatles.

@sadierae1996 It's funny, but I thought that you would think that I was being in fact, sarcastic! But believe me darling, I was not! The collaboration between Lennon and McCartney's song writing was hampered somewhat by Miss Ono's presence in the studio.There was some tension there. But it was not a major issue. like yourself, I have a passion for the arts, and music, and basic life! I too have a 4.0 in great personal attitude! Smiley!!
@FreezeInNiflheim
@FreezeInNiflheim 12 лет назад
@rocky3times Calm down? Where in my posts have I lost my temper? And once again, I have to explain that I have nothing against Juliet doing a cover, just that all these people who feel the need to come on the Beatles' video and praise her for doing their song should take their comments over to her video. She can do a cover, but she shouldn't "take credit" for Paul's amazing work, as the person I replied to said. The comment's dated anyway. She seems to be losing popularity on here.
@eddie10241

@MrNicolasRienzo I'm doing a polite follow up to my last comment, Paul McCartney did write Oh Darling! The book is called Tell Me Why, The Beatles,Album By Album,Song By Song, by Tim Riley.I'm not rubbing this in your face, or correcting you. I'm just stating a fact mentioned in a informational piece of literature! Please correct me if you can find other proof that he didn't, or tell me who did write this song! I've had this book for a long time, more then 15 years! Good song!
@eddie10241
@eddie10241 12 лет назад
@SuperNacho14 There are only three people in the world who only know this, you,me, and Paul McCartney! I was told McCartney didn't even write the song, which is bull because he did pen it. Like me, you are very aware of what is going on in the mind of a gifted writer of songs. You know exactly where he's coming from! I only wish now to hear McCartneys version of writing it. Was it Oh Johnny at first, only to change it to Darling for the final cut! He wanted the band to go on!
@FreezeInNiflheim
@FreezeInNiflheim 12 лет назад
@madeofcosmo I'm not hating on covers. If the comments praising her were on a her video, I wouldn't have a problem. I just don't get why all these people are flooding the Beatles's video to write about her. This is Paul McCartney singing, not Juliet. So there's no reason for everyone to be overlooking him in lieu of her. For the past 3 weeks, nobody praises the Beatles on their own video. It'd be nice to hear something other than her. This song was around before "The Voice."
@FreezeInNiflheim
@FreezeInNiflheim 12 лет назад
@BreeDawnLovesYou I know it's your opinion. As a diehard Beatles fan, it's discouraging to come on their videos and find no comments respecting them, but instead to find person after person praising a performance on a reality show. But all these "Juliet Simms" comments are going to die down soon enough when the bandwagoners leave the video. I just wish that while they're passing through, they'd stop for a moment and recognize the REAL voice behind this amazing song.

@chookieJS His appearance voice and personality changed. Paul was the best singer but his replacement was awful. Just listen and its explained. George and John each made 15 songs better than Faul in their solo career. Watch george harrison documentary from 2011 called Living in the material world. It has great pictures of the real Paul and then it shows how Fauyl never hung out with any of them. Its clear as day. John was not tricking abybody he was tryin to tell you Paul died.

@ILovePaul6676 Listen to yourself. You are in complete denial. He screams the lyrics on those albums and is the worst. Im not saying the songs are bad becuz i love The beatles but his singing is terrible. Why dont we do it in the road is horrible. Helter skelter he screams. Rocky racoon starts out with Faul sounding stupid. The clues are real and are too good to be coincidence. Look in the mirror, give the theory a chance then research and you will find the only conclusion. Paul Died.

people only believe what is common perception (tuyo) you people should realize what happened but you dont i am trying to help you. John Lennon and George Harrison would like people like me because they hate that Faul used Pauls career to make one of his own. Instead of judging the PID rumors by its cover actually look into it and the truth will lead the way. Dont be stupid and just say mean things to make yourself feel better. I would never argue something that isnt the truth.

John and george tried to tell us and made some amazing clues that only geniuses could do. It wasnt phony or else they would have been more open about it. Ringo said this year he is the last beatle. George at the hall of fame induction said this is whats left and we loved john and paul. Things dont keep reoccuring for n reason. Remember 90% of people are ignorant what is common perception and humans are a species of amnesia. Dont be loike the others you have a mind of your own. Be smart. RIP PAUL

@childintime12 Back before the Beatles; Big Bill Broonzy, Gene Vincent, Bill Haley, Ray Charles, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis were more well known in Liverpool and Gladglow than in all the US. There was a big Blue's following during his childhood back then. Along with the Irish music or Irish folk music, which was like Indian music, you can start to grasp the richness of what the Paul, John and George drew on as influences for their style.

@rachelclaw04 The beatles are NOT everybody's style. Otherwise, metal, rock, punk, R&B and everything else would be everyone's style. I kinda used to like them until i discovered other bands in the same era as them and they make the beatles look like little kids. plus i find them to be a bit uncreative and a little bit creepy... They do have some good songs, but most of them are nothing special. That is just my opinion anyways.

@LorenzoClemenza Well, I personally have no problem "trading people" it's an expression, he's not a slave driver you know? He's not ACTUALLY going to sell them. Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber are MEDIOCRE, most people who have played or studied music would "trade" JB and MC for anyone who is about the music and not image. They are a symptom of the disease that has rotted our music industry for the last 30 years, pushing true talent to the bottom to fight for a chance to even be heard.

Nowadays u turn on the radio and all u can hear is Cyrus and Bieber, when back then people would hear The Beatles! We're just jealous! We just want music to be music again. We take Mccartney for granted. His singing ability is very underrated in comparison to his songwritting ability. If nowadays a kid went to a talent show, and sang oh darling and then Yesterday and then Helt. Skelter and then I will and then monkberry moon (like Paul did), he would instantly become number one vocal phenomenon of the current music industry. His videos in youtube would hit milions of views, and everyone would talk about him.Paul is a great vocalist in any kind of pop and rock music

How much do you want to bet there wasn't some 14-year old back in the 1960s who felt better than their peers because they listened to good music, like Frank Sinatra, instead of that dumb chart music like The Beatles?

I love earlier music (pre 80's) because that's when pop music for the most part was good music. I think the reason that it's awesome is that 90% of "pop musicians" from this era are likeable for me, and the unknown stuff from this era is INCREDIBLE. It's like you're still getting a lot of music easily, but it's awesome. It's pop music that's just soo good.

Paul McCartney is the sweetest, cutest, man who ever had such hair around his balls on such a song as Oh Darling. He had such fiestiness here. In fact McCartney could be equally musically cutting as Lennon - the great title songs from Sergeant Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour, not to mention the concepts themselves, were Paul's.

@chookieJS well ive been on youtube for 8 days. Ill stop eventually but I really dislike people who dont accept the truth. It bothers me that you let John and George go unnoticed. Also people respect Faul and they shouldnt. He is a nobody who was told what to do and what to sing when he was with the beatles and his solo career sucks

@yipeokia1 I agree but Im talking about faul who replaced Paul after he died. Og Darling is sung terribly and RIngo and George were better singers than Faul on Abbey road and White Album. The real Paul had a better voice then Lennon and maybe the best voice of all time thats why I cant figure out why people dont realize he was replaced.

Damn't, stop talking about Justin Bieber and enjoy the music! I came here to listen to music and watch all the positive comments about the beatles. Not Justin Bieber .. and damn't people give Justin Bieber a chance, either he's a one hit wonder or he'll be remembered forever like the beatles. We'll see. But in the mean time everybody shut up about Justin Bieber!

@musicmachine33 Hey, the whole Beatlemania was because The Beatles sold out just like Justin. They didn't even sell that many copies of the record at first, it only got to number 1 because the producer bought like 500 albums. And yes there are 500 million girls that want to bang them. It just so happened that The Beatles "un-sold-out". Popularity =/= good music.

Whether homosexuality is wrong or not isn't the question , the question is " if it isn't why even mention it "? You aren't free of the difference , but like most people are in some form of denial , where you'll keep repeating the opposite of how you feel . Feel , and say what you feel . Thanks .

I was there! I saw Beatlemania in person. They came to America and world fame in '63 when I was eight and they changed the world over the next 8 years. NO other band will ever come close to the well rounded talent and fame of the Beatles! They will always be loved!

@GIRtheGIRL No he died in 1965 or 1966. He was replaced by a guy with plenty of plastic surgery and a guy who screams lyrics and makes girl yelps. Compare Help album with White album. Oh darling is sung by replacement hear how he yells? Is you want evidence I will prove to you he died just let me know.

@AlanLhb In some sort of interview. Here's a quote from Wiki: "When we were recording 'Oh! Darling' I came into the studios early every day for a week to sing it by myself because at first my voice was too clear. I wanted it to sound as though I'd been performing it on stage all week."

I sometimes wonder if u replace the title word Darling with Johnny, this song was Paul's dealing with Lennon's wanting to leave the Beatles. Just one of many,many theories to think about. Paul was more unsure about his future, unlike John who wanted nothing more but to move on with his.

Two things: The third and last time he says 'Oh! Darling,' he very clearly says 'Oh, Johnny' Listen. You'll hear it. (It's around 1:45). Second: WHAT MOVIE IS THIS FROM?!!?! I swear I've heard this in a movie, but I can't remember which one... Can anybody tell me which one?

Whoever said McCartney couldn´t make real good music was the biggest moron on Earth. This song is a masterpiece and makes me shiver every single time I listen to it. It´s just perfect. Powerful, romantic and sexy. You can´t ask for more in one single song. Macca forever.

@jeminijem1 I can hear how Paul was influenced by that 'sound' but he most certainly didn't steal anything. Compare the two songs, they sound hardly anything alike. It's got the same type of motown sound but if that was considered stealing then every Motown artist are thieves...
