Never had an issue with my ar-rpm 9 blades. Acually have had really good results. Idk just my opinion 🤷🏼‍♂️ Dig the video👊🏻

It’s not about there being an issue with the steel. It’s about them liking about the composition of the steel. I bet it would be a little different if you bought a $400 Microtech with M390 only to find out it’s not M390 but D2. I get what you’re saying though. Thanks brother!👊🤘

@@WhatsthePOINT_EDC true man I would be pissed if I bought m390 and got d2. My thing is that they didn’t advertise the blades as super steels and sell budget steels. They never even advertised that there were 9 elements in there steel to my knowledge, that’s more something that had to be sought out ya know. Like I get what you’re saying and I’m with you if they did that. Like I didn’t buy the ar rpm9 bc I thought it was a super steel ya feel me I bought it bc it performed close to a super steel made from p.m. But dude this is just my take on it. I get what your saying 👊🏻

Post-rant edit: I have become the very thing I hate - a keyboard warrior, comment ranter. I still have to go check out Dr. Thomas's video (my Watch Later list is so long lol). I remember seeing a bladeforums thread from a few years ago when I was trying to look up the steel. Dr. Thomas was commenting a bit speculating about some of the things that I think ended up in his final analysis, the biggest being that the factory producing the steel wasn't known to have true particle metallurgy. I've seen the semi-explanation that it wasn't truly advertised as "particle metallurgy" but "particle manufacturing" or something similar. I'm amenable to what I've observed (in the brief time this has been out) are the two sides of the argument. On the "CJRB/Artisan don't deserve to be banished" side, there's the "their supplier deceived them," the "they never truly advertised it as 'particle metallurgy,'" the "it's only ever been a budget steel," and "if it performs to your expectations, what's it to you?" On the "CJRB/Artisan need to be banished" side, it's basically the opposite, namely "They knew, they advertised it intentionally, and once you've lost your trust/integrity, you have a looooong road to walk to earn it back." I can also get that for someone like Dr. Thomas, who makes knife steel composition, manufacturing, and processing his area of expertise and the thing that puts food on his table, he'd have a high professional standard for what he expects in his field (that's my thought on "Why should we care? It's a budget steel. Can you tell the difference between 8Cr13MoV and Maxamet when you're opening your 16th bag of chips?") I'm inclined to think everyone is entitled to their opinion in this matter and, like I said, I'm amenable to both sides. Personally, I'd lean toward the expectation that CJRB/Artisan need to really open up in transparency on this before I'll be willing to purchase one of their knives.

That's why I don't buy knives from China I don't think they have really stringent standards for the composition of their blade steels. Yes! purposefully deceptive ‼️🔥🤘🏻
@WhatsthePOINT_EDC
@WhatsthePOINT_EDC 2 месяца назад
Dude I think they were deceptive as well. I rewatched Larrins video. They purposely took down information, cut the steel composition video short and added “rare earth” elements that they don’t use. To top it off it’s not a PM steel like they claim. This is crazy for real. Thanks man!👊🤯

Technically, if it IS spray form, then it is essentially a powder (tiny particles). I don’t really care about the advertising, pretty much all advertising is a lie or stretching of the truth in one form or another. AR-RPM9 is a decent budget steel, and the knives that use it are budget priced. Now, if CJRB was selling AR-RPM9 steel knives for $150 and up, then yes that would be considered deceptive advertising, and get them in some legal trouble. I’ll still buy CJRB knives, as I never really got caught up in all of the hype, I really like the Ekko and Alt-pyrite designs, and the knives are decent quality and priced modestly.

@@echosierra9990 To say all advertising is a lie and use that as an excuse seems a bit off. Advertising by nature *emphasizes the positives* and deemphasizes the negatives. Making up facts out of thin air is something else, which we refer to as fraud.
@echosierra9990

@@EssenceofPureFlavor I’m not using lying as in making utterly false statements. I’m referring to lying in the form of “you use product X, and you’ll be the coolest person around” or if you buy this car, you’ll have beautiful women falling all over themselves to be your girlfriend/ wife. It’s deceptive and misleading, but a lot of advertising still does it.

Number maybe accidentally too many, but clearly lie about powder-form metallurgy. Knife Center always states that, making distributors giving false claims???!!!
