One of her first, Australian Prime Minister Robert Menzies was also equally her first Prime Minister, (as well as the then Prime Ministers of Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and Ceylon (now known as Sri Lanka))
The story goes that, young Tony Blair bounded into the room (at Buckingham Palace) on his first weekly audience with the Queen, full of himself, having just won his landslide election after 10+ years of Tory government. She then took his shxx down about 10 pegs, saying more or less: "You are my 10th PM, but my first one was Winston Churchill. Now we can start...". Cue tail-between-legs stammering from Blair (apparently).
And to think under her rule she has seen the Britain go from the largest land empire in history to the likely desolution of the 'United' Kingdom. I think she and her grandfathers grandmother will have an awful lot to catch up upon in a few years!
Probably a mixture of both. I suppose being the sovereign at that age too has got to be stressful, especially with everything that she has gone through in the past 6-18 months
As a nurse you learn, Muscle mass loss is a lot of the reason and decrease in appetite. And the loss of significant other would be. Also, he activity level seems to higher than most people of that age. Just hope she protected to some degree or the approach given is in a delicate way.( if that’s possible)

I'm not so sure if that's really something you should wish for her. I could imagine that she longs to be with her husband again. Plus, for a believer, being with Jesus is even better than being the Queen of a country.

Looks as though the Queen actually enjoyed the meeting judging by the bit we saw. She was certainly laughing with, not at, the PM and that's always a good sign.
@@marioglory8528 Yes she represents everything a Queen is and should be. For the last 70 yrs she has been through so much and her life on display for the world to see. She isn't perfect but has maintained her person in a way that speaks volumes of her Integrity and character.

Elizabeth II is the Queen of Australia, and our sovereign Head of State. She outranks our Australian Prime Minister. It would have be most discourteous if Mr Morrison had not bowed.
@@phillipamchugh5343 He is quite the royalist in comparison with his predecessor Prime Minister Turnbull who was an ardent republican. However, even Turnbull was obliged to bow in an audience with the Queen. Sometimes they don't, but usually it is standard practice.

She is in her mid nineties and she does it without question. I'm only in my forties and it would tire me out. Have some respect for this wonderful lady. Most people in their nineties would want to sit in a chair and watch telly! She has an enormous sense of duty

@@lolasonner5051 Monarchism isn't just something among old people, I am also fully supportive of the Queen and the Monarchy, and this is coming from a 19 year old Australian who has never visited the UK. I believe our current system represents stability and continuity as well as representing our shared closeness with not only Britain, but also Canada and New Zealand, not to mention the other 12 countries who we also share our head of state with. Of course, you are entitled to your opinion, we live in a democracy after all (as evident in the 1997 republican referendum), but I do find it rather odd that you would tell somebody that you disagree with to 'go back to England', despite not even knowing where he is from, or what his ancestry is, how is this any different from telling a black person to 'go back to Africa', or a person of Chinese decent to 'go back to China', sure, I don't think what you said was race based (unlike these examples), but it's still a pretty horrible thing to say. She is saved already, I believe. Regarding Britain and the Commonwealth (and the rest of the world, for that matter), you are correct: there is still much saving to be done.
I think what makes the Queen so likable is that even with all her advantages and wealth, she still is self effacing and even humble at times. What a magnificent balancing act to appear regal and yet humble at the same time! I really think that when she passes away, the monarchy in Britain will never be the same and very likely may be abolished completely. She is every bit as good a Queen as Victoria was and I think she will be remembered in much the same way.

@David Williams One may as well say that, given the United Kingdom has no written constitution at all, every act of the UK Parliament and of the Queen herself is 'unconstitutional'. In Australia the PM works according to practices and customs developed over hundreds of years by the British Parliament. Hence, 'constitutionally'.

It is a little different though. Elizabeth II is Queen of Australia, essentially Prime Minister Morrison's boss. However, she does not have any official capacity in Germany or France, and so her meetings with Macron and Merkel are purely diplomatic.
It’s different the queen is the head of state of Australia, however when she met Macron it was head of state to head of state meeting, and Merkel she was her guest and representing a foreign nation.
Australia has politics perfect, they make a lot of money, don't have any wars, have no real enemies/trade wars and everyone is allies with them because of their money in trade. Australian Parliament is funny to watch if you get the chance.

I watch her closely. My granny is 97 so they are close in age. But I don’t think my granny would be able to carry on so effortlessly like the Queen does. Even when she stands up and sits down, zero help. That’s really incredible.
Her Majesty looks even more petite, especially since the demise of her beloved husband, the Duke of Edinburgh. The loss of the loved one will do that to you. Also, her age is catching up with her, I suppose. Otherwise, she looks well. Love her dress: so bright and beautiful.
