I'm a metalhead in my late thirties. This kind of music is not my jam. Haven't watched the movie since I was a kid. I listen to this song all the time. This vocal arrangement kicks so much ass it actually brings tears to my eyes.
I don't know why but all the times I watched this movie I cried and smile at the same time when they sang. It's my second favorite movie. I Feel an emotion I can't explain.
I have no idea why, but I get choked up during this scene and I am an atheist. I guess it reminds me of my childhood and how there are many ways to inspire people religious or otherwise.
As an adult, I am crying with chills because this takes me back to a specific happy memory from my childhood. Literally top 3 fave songs from the movie😭💜
I have wonderful memories of this song. This was one of my moms favorites. Totally her style and always made her so happy. She's passed now, and re-watching it is definitely bitter-sweet. I miss our times sitting in our old living room just being happy and singing along.
Aww, it's the same for me and my Dad! He showed me this movie when I was a kid and now it has such a special place in my heart, I can almost imagine us sitting on our sofa together watching
this scene shows the power of music sung in pure joy, it got strangers to come into a church they've passed by hundreds of times without a second thought. The priest did what you're supposed to do welcomed them with open arms.
Amazing how sounds can raise such strong emotions within us. That sound is the wonderful world of music. The older I get, the longer the list of songs that get to me, from many kinds starting with a 3-piece band up to and including an orchestra of over 100 members, the good examples will move you. I have to go and listen to some.
AFTER SO MANY YEARS AND I STILL FIND IT SO FUNNY !! ITSA BEAUTIFUL THING TK HAVE THE GIFT TO MAKE OTHER PEOPLE'S LAUGH ❤ GOD BLESS YOU ALL SISTERS ACT 😆❤
BRINGS BACK MY DAYS 60'S-70'S I WENT TO ALL SAINTS CATHOLIC SCHOOL PRE-K- 8TH GRADES JUST LIKE YOU SEE MY TEACHERS...THEY STARTED STAR WARS HAVE A YARD STICK IN THEIR SLEEVE AND A RULER OUT OF WOOD WITH METAL STRIP PN ONE END...IF YOU WHERE IN TROUBLE HOLD YOUR HAND UP SHOWING YOUR KNUCKLES AND WACK ACROSS YOUR KNUCKLES...GOOD OL DAYS!
Man I miss the 90's we got so many good movies and sequels and some were wholesome now we can barely get creative and good movies I still cry and laugh at movies from back then especially Sister Act both of them were very well written and acting on point plus the music scenes
Certainly not a religious guy but this is my favourite part of the film, especially the head nun with a face like a bulldog licking piss off a nettle at the end of the song, cracks me up every time.
Kathy Naijimi, Whopee Goldberg and Wendy Makkenna did a very great Job ! I like the whole story as I am brought up by christians and was well integrated in our community as a boyscout , choir singer and gospel band drummer !
When I was 5 or 6 Sister Act was on repeat. I remember repeating Whoopi's lines out of context at school, like "What are you gonna do, stick me in a bag and burry me?" In retrospect the other kids were probably like "Umm...."
Some don't like the singing as a worship but I say if singing make you feel that you're connecting with God go forward no one can tell you not to it it's how you connect with God and that's why people feel the most joy so go for it
