Oh my gawd road is an easy 2wd road. Driven it many times. Try black bear pass for an oh my gawd.

That road gives me the "heebie-jeebies." Somebody went off that road and died when I was in high school.

You should of took a left hand turn at 8:39 on the Video and went to the Moffat Tunnel , A rail road tunnel under the Continental Divide

Is there a place off OMG road where there is a an old Jeep and something like a milk truck in the slope of the mountain?

I remember seeing multiple vehicles along the route, but I also think I was on a different part of "omg road" than what was filmed here.

This is so cool. The last time I did this drive was nearly 25 years ago, but I remembered more than I thought I would. I love the drive through CC and Blackhawk. My great grandparents, Bob and Sue and great aunt and uncle, John and Ginny lived there when I was a kid and I've always missed that area. It's so beautiful and the history is so amazing. Thanks for sharing!

My uncle told me today that they road is better groomed than it used to be- since it's one of the ways to Central City.

I guess I might be missing something. Why is this road considered scary? I've been up Old Fall River Road in RMNP, it's not "scary" but it seems more aggressive than this. Yet I've been told OMG road is way more of a thing. Why?

I agree. It's not particularly scary, unless you're not used to such roads.

My Mon Grew up in this town..We would come up from New Mexico, to spend the summer with my grand parents...( the Harringtons)...Way back in the 60,s...Miss those days..John.

Great Video but...(Maybe this makes me a snob or a purist but...) that was not the true Oh My Gawd Road at the beginning. The true OMG road stays to the left all the way up Virginia Canyon as you head north out of Idaho Springs. When they took the first hairpin to the right, they went on the road that was built to avoid OMG road because it was so steep and rough. Great concept for a video series.

It's true. OMG road goes straight up the canyon. Although now they have smoothed it out so much, I call it Oh My Goodness road.

They have changed so much in he last many years- can't fault him for what is no longer there.
