Yes, Dolphin is a B-side from the album "Nonstop." They presented it on different music shows (April 2020) One day IU mentioned on her Instagram that she loved the song after watching them on TV, so that days later she would cover the song on her channel. By July 2020 the song was trending in South Korea and when Arin and Soobin were chosen as Music Bank's MC it was decided to use their own popular songs to perform (Dolphin and Runaway). This is where it became popular outside of Korea.

If you've ever watched an episode of Running Man, you've seen Haha (he's a longtime regular member). He was one of the first rappers to bring reggae to korea Coloring Book was the song that made Gowon from LOONA cry (she's a Miracle) when LOONA went on Weekly Idol and Hyojung and Seunghee were guest MCing and got to dance to this song with them and yeah....Dolphin is actually a B Side so they never intended to make a MV to it but it got so popular what they ended up doing is just using outtakes and b roll from all their former MVs. The song exploded for a few reasons (the Arin/Soobin thing happened well after it exploded in popularity). I think the main reason it got so popular is a) it's catchy as hell b) the korean lyrics are REALLY good and c) IU said it was her favorite song BAM is kind of a tradition in kpop that doesn't happen as much anymore. Along with actual songs for products like cellphones and cars, another thing was subunits with kind of childlike concepts (think Orange Caramel, WJSN Chocome). This one was a little bizarre......so these 3 (hyojung, Binnie/yubin, Arin) are the 3 monkeys that have a banana allergy and the other 4 are monkeys without banana allergies (their subunit sang the b side for this album). Don't try and make too much sense of it lol

i think "Dolphin" top the charts when IU saw Oh My Girl perform this in a music show when she just work up. and post about this in her IU reels. (at least that is what was mentioned when hyojung and suenghee guested at IU youtube channel) "Banana Allergy Monkey" is fun is it own way and reminded me of how Kpop can be different. haha
"Banana Monkey Allergy" can be simply like allergy to food and how it's really inconvenient but you still like it or it could be interpreted like keep liking something or someone even though it's not healthy for you OR deeper, it could be like idol life esp when debut at young age, they like something but they have public image to maintain so the MV is like they just want to go on adventures or desire to wear more matured outfits like the other members in the MV, etc. Anything you want to interpret [I actually want to see more fun interpretation of the song]. Still, what a fun song!
I think they never made a MV to b-sides even for the promotional one. In Dolphin case, they never expect the song will blow up like that, and then they made a special clip which is a spin of from the made of MV at the previous era. Even the Director say he regret not made a proper one MV for dolphin. (but it is still cool tho)
Idk if you know the group Kandis . They going to comeback and debut at 4 this fall. They really have the vibes of a 2gen group. They produce, do choreo, play instruments, and are all adults which is cool. They are all so talented and have 4 musics out already and 16 new ones are going to be on the new album. They also did a lot of cover to showcase their various talents. If you could look at them . They are so nugu but honesty deserve to be known... if you could look at them it would be amazing. For Listen to My Word, it's probably a good thing you didn't watch the version with Skull and HAHA in the video. It's very cringy for me to watch. The whole video for Dolphin is outtakes from previous MV's. Banhana is the only official sub-unit for Oh My Girl, with Hyojung, Yubin (then Binnie) and Arin. The other four members appear in the MV but don't sing. They did promote it on music shows and the other four appeared on stage as backup dancers. ONEWE has a good cover of Dolphin.
