Big, Primal, and Leo are basically the transformers equivalents of the Admirals from One Piece. Big Convoy represents the Absolute Justice. Optimus Primal represents Grey Justice. And Leo Convoy represents True Justice.
You’re actually supposed to have the missile launchers on the robot legs extended all the way out, not pushed in. That lets you tab the mammoth feet to the back of the legs. And man if we get a new figure of this dude through Legacy I HOPE we get a Nemesis repaint with those bloody tusks.
If we take into consideration that the latest Generations lines had been all trilogies, Legacy is over this year. We don't know if there will be a new trilogy or if they would actually continue with Legacy. Which would be great, to be honest. As an ongoing line like Studio Series. There have been no leaks or rumours that confirm or deny this, so we can only hope. They have been releasing mostly bangers on Legacy.
@@Darkz3ed Legacy is over next year. They’re definitely doing something similar to Legacy after it tho. There’s too many things that we know are coming that are outside 2024.
@frenchfriedbagel7035 See, I never had that frame of reference. However, as far as how it looks, the inaccurate "flush-sitting cannons" looks way better than the accurate "gappy thrusters", at least to me. I think the instructions show them pointing backwards, but I assumed it was just wrong because of how bad it looked with that gap and the very visible armature. It looks more *right* the other way around if you don't know otherwise.
I love Big Convoy. Mine sadly had the balljoint connector on his mammoth face half/shoulder broken for like eight years until someone randomly put the same part for Ultra Mammoth up for sale on eBay. So now my Big Convoy has a blue frozen face half and I think it’s absolutely badass.
Expensive figure now..Have the Big Blue Convoy and its a great figure.non of the kibble bothers me.I turn the mammoth legs forward and put some blast effects coming out.. Hopefully there will be a Magnaboss with the upcoming Magantron
I like the nature documentary style intro. And this video is for adult collectors because you pointed out that the beast mode looks like it has a tumor....and now I cannot unsee that.
Great job with the intro. Original release looks cool, but excited to see are an updated LC in Legacy would compare. Love the horns on the sides of Prime's head.
As long as Transformers is considered as a nostalgia bait franchise, I doubt it. Only if that design cue is used by a current cartoon character, it might be.
idk if you know this, but in his robot mode, on the legs you can push the mammoth legs all the way into the back of the robot legs and they plug in, they work better as heels that way. the trick is to push them in before pushing in the hook missile launchers.
I have this guy on display and complete, his big mother F gun is in his robot mode hand, the fact he can hold that weapon up without his arm drooping, is achivement in its self, some modern figures, simply cannot hold up large weapons due to how their arms are desgined, so, he is awesome to look at!!
Two things to note~ First off, that ‘hand-gun’? No sir, that is a CANNON capable of blowing away like, an entire fleet of star ships, hence it’s name ‘Big-Cannon’. And the other thing being his hip skirts are actually mini-guns which you can rotate forwards if you have the patience to reveal the sculpted detail.
Honestly if we do get a Big Convoy again, I'd love to see them try to make it streamlined kind of like the Legacy Leo Prime, like making there be some actual possibility in the legs. It'd probably take away from the weapons, tho, unless he was a Commander Class in the same vein as Rodimus
Woah! I got distracted by a situation while you were doing the transformation. When i got back and saw the bot, my f jaw dropped 😮 WOW! He looks so fresh! Headsculpt is dope. Did not expect this after seing mammoth panels getting flipped and all... 😅 👍🏼💪
If his Mammoth gut wasn't dragging the ground and if they found a way to hide all that tusk and mammoth kibble, I would really like this one!!! Prehistoric mammals?!! Why not?! They've already done lots of animals already! The gimmicks are an added plus and I really like his "kill everything" mode! I think it's his best mode!!👍👍 In robot mode, he looks like he's wearing a mammoth pelt, like he killed one and decided to slap it on himself 😂
My big convoy had fallen backwards down to sheer weight, I left it there for months! This video inspired me to lift him back up and bring him back to life by re-standing him.😂 I got mine for 30$ on eBay!!! That was almost a decade ago.
I really hope that we do end up getting him in legacy and that the art gently teased on the box of magmatron isn't just an Easter egg, although I feel like in order to do him proper justice he might also need to be commander just for the amount of parts, especially the gun, double especially if they include the matrix buster cannon
Does he have a whole mammoth sticking off of him? Sure, but you got to admit, Big Convoy’s got some PRESENCE, he just looks so cool that the kibble doesn’t even really bother me
As far as i know the elmososaurus you were referring to was actually an elasmosaurus, i see where the confusion happened, your videos are amazing and got me into getting older transformers so please dont take this as a criticism. Your videos are amazing!!!
I need to track this guy down for my collection one day. I suspect we will see an updated commander class later this year or next year. I wonder if they will keep the feature of basically being able to take all the kibble off and just have the mammoth standing next to the bot mod.
A small part of me hopes that the inevitable Legacy figure manages the kibble better somehow, but because of how accurate they've been trying to make the Japanese Beast Wars characters... I seriously doubt it'll be a whole lot better. Still, it'l be cool to see when he does arrive
my favorite beast wars figure and design. PERIOD I got the anime colored encore one and it fun. It very fun but no matrix buster. I NEED A MATRIX BUSTER!!!
I have a Korean Encore reissue of this guy. Got it for Christmas a few years ago. The colors are a lot better looking then the colors on this one. Plus now I have a vintage looking box I cannot read haha. Ps Niagara is better then the GTA. We got the Falls and the welland Cannel.
I've got the old Universe release of this as Nemesis Prime. It really is a great toy for its time. I've been limiting my collecting of new figures to G1 and Beast Wars characters because i have limited space and those are the ones I care most about. Okay, also silly 90's G2 because i had those toys too. I did watch things later, but i have to limit myself. Dont have a ton of figures from those lines but dont need modern updates to take up space either. No Armada or Energon or Cybertron, No animated, and so far no Prime. I hate I'm weak to Prime designs, but making them "G1" has help save me money so far. But that Commander Class Armada Prime... No No It won't break me...
If you can, get the Encore version from 2019. It has a more Anime accurate paint scheme and the details are immaculate. Pupils are placed in his Mammoth eyes too so he really looks alive. I had the version you've displayed and it was quickly replaced by the Encore version. It looks better standing next to MP Lio Convoy and MP Optimus Primal (Plus verison)
yeah. i am set on getting original Big Convoy , because if hasbro is going to do it, it's not gonna be has fun worth it like him. At the time, this was awesome, and still today.
So I know he was in the picture but does that mean without a doubt we are getting a new one? That said I would love it if we do, a leader class prolly and that would be awesome! Getting magmatron we gotta get one right? But then again....having lio convoy we need a bw2 galvatron!
I really can't wait for the Legacy version and am hopeful that it can fix his kibbly nature a bit, clear him of that """""3rd mode""""", and ntm give him some beast mode articulation so he isn't just a statue tho as well just for personal love of the recolors I REALLY REALLY want them to recolor it into the Ultra Mammoth and Nemesis versions. Maybe give the UM version a new head sculpt to distinguish them apart, but I just really love the fact that he kept the Optimus/Magnus tradition of being a repaint of the former, and feel Magnus just fits the mold really well for if he was a part of the Beast Wars.
It's called Big Convoy, so it would be Big Prime, there's Great Convoy too, Great Prime then; which means that the Japanese versions of the primes in BW have names that are actually compliments.
