African greys are one person birds, they bond strongly with the person who spends maximum time with them loving them, towards other the greys behave aggressively, to avoid this African grey needs to be socialized with all the members of the family equally so that one person behavior is suppressed.

yes i believe you are right , they get cranky and aggressive when they are sleepy. Even my baby lovebird acted the same way.

I think Ligaya was just expecting a seed from Ate Elsie as she approached the bird the same way you approached her as you do the training. Can you try to train her to step up by using your fingers so that she can perch on it, I guess that's the proper way.

well for what i think Ligaya like all African grey will often bond with just only one human or special human/s and might act shy or aggressive towards others and only mimic their words and may also take their owner's emotion as well like if you feel moody theirs a chance the African grey can pick on that and feel moody as well and it shows that African Greys are indeed intelligent birds and best bird companions

To get her use to perching on wood, try do the step up with a stick maybe instead of your hand, I not sure if it will do much but I think you should try.

There’s so much that’s not in a book with a parrot. I knew a cockatoo that hated one of its owners so she would pic the corn kernels out of her seed mix, one by one she stuffed them in between her feathers until the bowl was empty. Then she would hang upside down, flap her wings as hard as she could and sent corn hitting everything 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 within a 50ft radius had corn on it. Whole kernel corn could be found months later. They are smart and they can get a really bad attitude Lolol My cockatoo would chase my mother around the house if I left him out on his stand but to me the sweetest bird on the planet.

I stayed at a place that had a cockatoo, a huge one, i was terrified of it! It would chase me up on to the cupboards if no one else was home! Or i would hide in the bathroom and it literally chewed a hole in the bottom of the door to break in to get at me!! And almost every morning it would crawl up the bed under my covers and when i would move cuz i woke up it would attack me!! MAN i hated that thing! Plus the screeching noises it made were demonic! Never ever would i get a large breed of cockatoo! Messy noisey and mean!!

it's totally normal that a female bird would bond with a male owner and be aggressive towards other females even if it's not the same species. I had to male Amazon who loved me but attacked any man that came in the house

I agree. My ex boyfriend had a parrot that was very possessive of him. It would make very loud warning sounds and if let out of its cage would attack any female. He thought it was hilarious that I was terrified of his sweet bird because for him it would sit on his shoulder and sometimes nuzzle into his neck.

I bet you’ll be a sweet & loving Dad to your kids. The way you kiss and smooch Ligaya is like how I remembered doing to my children when they were still babies. Go, and get married now! You are perfectly at the right age to have a family. I hope and pray that you will find that woman soon! For the meantime, keep practicing your parenthood with Ligaya.

There are avian peanuts that a either frozen or heated up to kill off the fungus so it’s safe for birds. The peanuts you got are probably safe. If you’re worried you can deep freeze them to kill off the fungus.

I'm sorry I''m being so chatty. Do step up on one finger...so she can perch. Its more stable and safer for her. The full hand thing for her little feet is a bit wobbly. You notice she lifts her toes up when she's walking on flat surfaces. heehee

I was going to make the same suggestion. It looks like she's uneasy on the flat palm. She's so good at perching so I think she'd do well on the side of the hand and pointer finger so she can wrap her talons around.

You start seeing her iris! If you start seeing the white of her eyes (in a couple of weeks when she grows), the eyes will also tell you a lot about how she's feeling. The 'pinning' of the eyes becomes more obvious and it tells you a lot. So you keep getting your research on and enjoy your lovely bird!

Dear mikey, I don't know much about birds and these episode's are awesome to follow! But I do know a bit about peppers. Birds do not have capsaicin receptors so they are not able to feel the "burn" of the peppers so it basically is like eating dried bellpeppers (Dogs lack those receptors too but often turn down hot food because of the smell not the hotness) keep up the great training! I love it!!!

Something that helps with a lot of animals is not approaching them from above, it can help to keep your hand lower than their head level so they can inspect and assess. It's scary to have something looming over your head when you're very small! They really use their beak as like... Their dominant hand, and their feet almost like their non dominant hand. The things you described her doing with her beak are just like a human touching your hand! I know it's scary (and perhaps controversial?) but I've had better results letting animals have a lot of access to my hands, especially when they are moving slowly, and I've let birds also test biting down gently if I trust them. With some they take advantage of it to be rude and bite proper, so they are not allowed to explore the hand, but those who learn to be gentle often end up rewarding me by gently preening my hand, nuzzling, and in cockatiel case, doing what I call a cockatiel hug -- they rest their heads against each other and lean and fluff happily... It's so cute....

It's not unusual for African Grey's to form a tight bond with only one person, and trust that person alone, and show aggression to other people. Not all of them are like that, but it's common.

I know this will sound funny to you, but when you think she's ready, you can take her in the shower with you. They love to bathe, and my birds are ALWAYS in the shower with me!! You can make a perch or buy one with suction cups to stick it to the wall. Each bird is different, so you just have to do some trial and error to see how she would like it. Pineapple likes a spray bottle, Momo likes to have the wall wet with a towel to climb up and down so he can rub his feathers on it, and our past conure, Tiki, liked to be in the shower with me on a perch when I was done with any soap. I would put the shower head on a misting type of spray or use whatever was on, use my hand to deflect the water into small droplets on to her. She loved it so much! I miss her! I love seeing how far you guys have gotten with her.

Some Parrots live to 80 + so she is far from a teenager or an adult. Being young everything us new to her so go slow and make if fun and repeat your commands that's how they learn. You gave a long way to God my friend. I have a lot of scar tissue. Having parrots for 25 years. They use their beaks for playing, tasting, defending or warning and preening ....... keep reading and learning.

the switch is the terrible 2’s and when she starts to get sexual maturity. Around 5-10 (different for other birds) I think she’s just having a I only want my daddy mood. My parrot is 9 years old and she’s just now decided what she likes and dislikes. But have fun with ur fid (feather kid). But she’s growing up fast but she is no where near a teenager I promise u that she’s still a baby once she’s past 3 then she’s definitely not a baby she’s a teen

I'm a bit behind, trying to catch up on the vlogs, but in case no one else has mentioned it yet, there are things you can do so that you can give her peanuts. There are plenty of other alternatives but for whatever reason, Greys tend to really like peanuts and it makes them good treats for training. It's best to get peanuts that are already removed from the shell since the mold grows on the shell, not the nut itself, and make sure it's unsalted. Getting peanuts that are marketed for human consumption will reduce the chance of mold since there are stricter regulations on food for humans than for birds. To be safe, you can boil or roast them beforehand and that should kill any traces of mold that there might be.

Your aunt should have Lagaya with her throughout the day on her lap, shoulders, and hand concurrently feeding her and talking to her. Just more bonding time is probably whats missing.

I used to take care of parrots but not anymore. Reason why i watch ur vids regularly is bcoz i miss them. I buy tons of native sili bcoz i was told that it makes them talk a lot. Also, when my parrots behave badly, i was told again to switch on the radio or tv. Music calms them and sometime they dance. I also follow einstein.. i read in their comments that he is being bathed daily to avoid mood swings. Used to do that with my mynah before.

I love you and understand you're just figuring lots of stuff out. 💋 Mikey maybe hold your hand sideways as others do so her feet can wrap around your index finger/side of your hand and you'll also have the option of using your thumb to go over one foot (helps them feel more secure sometimes).

Also for step up instead of giving her your entire palm ,you should teach her to perch on your fingers, if she is around 3 months old then she should know how to perch by now.
