Sensei is very adorable. He can't stand the noise but he wouldn't mind his students at all, judging how he came back and let his students speak their minds. No wonder why many students see him as a father figure.
If you check the newer club stories, Rio doesn't do crap that isn't apocalypse prevention so all the board stuff goes to Yuuka and Noa. It isn't just the engineering team and Koyuki, it's 99% of the school outside Himari that's like this but dumber. And even she just goes on whims. She's too annoyed to care.🎉

I'd say that maybe Utaha and Hibiki could've helped Sensei there, but then I remember how overqualified their club's creations tend to be, with those two variations of Utaha's Thundergun plus the hot sauce gun shown at the start of this video being among the tamer examples of that habit of theirs.
Don't forget, the hot sauce gun is Neru's SMG that the Engineering department accidentally converted into a hot sauce dispenser. They were promptly executed for this of course.
