Let me preface this by stating that this opinion is coming from a Dj and Producer who came up an the late 80's in the south Bronx, in case anyone doesn't know that is the birthplace of HipHop and Rap. I was a Sicilian Teenager getting snuck into and partying at many spots in the BX long before it was legal for me to do so, by the 90's I was spinning at places like Limelight, The Tunnel, Club USA, The Edge in Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando as well as Limelight in Chicago and London thanks to the love I was shown and skills I was blessed with in the Bronx in the 80's. Ok, that said, if I had a time machine and could bring these girls back to the Boogie Down Bronx back in the day their names would have rung out in rap and R&B history with Remy Ma, Swizz Beatz, Kool Keith, Lord Finesse, DJ Mike Smooth Run DMC, Melle Mel, M.J.B., Queen Latifah, Foxy Brown, Lil Kim, Big Pun, Fat Joe, as well as groups like SWV, TLC, En Vogue, Destiny's Child. Not only that with Cocona, Jurin and Maya's swag, style, personalities and skills they would have been welcomed and loved in the scene like very few performers from outside the Borough of the Bronx, much less that city! During the Xypher, did you not Maya's homage to Slick Rick with that eye patch? Today they would be Legends, I would stake my reputation that by the time it's all said and done, they will be! Oh how the pride in my heart swelled watching Cocona doing on the XG Movie #2 to Pop Smoke AP as well as the shout out to him with that money power respect line in her first Xypher to that J I D track Surround Sound beat! The girl is FIRE and shows her love and respect for the artists that influenced her in every track, even on this one shouting out to Nore, Nick Cannon and The Neptune's, showing she learned the lesson of Respect, that money and power is sure to follow...
