Love Josh's work and that of his collaborators but that was a very big challenge indeed - Bowie was as much a phenomenon (with a unique voice that was and integral part of what made the whole phenomenon work) as a musician. Great job, though Hunky Dory was an unmatchable piece of work. I had a remote connection with all that as I became lead singer for a band led by Mark Carr-Pritchard, who lived over the road from Haddon Hall and was there when those songs were being written, just before Ziggy's meteoric rise to fame. I used to go and see (and met) Bowie at that time at the Three Tuns in Beckenham where he ran an arts lab on Sunday nights. Happy days, long ago.

That was completely original. Lyrics are brilliant. I have to listen to more Bowie. If this is an example of his deep cuts, then I definitely need to hear his full albums, not just his top radio hits.

@@cmanhkert Yes, it definitely is a Deep Cut. A song on a low-ranked album that is not released for radio airplay is pretty much the definition of a 'Deep Cut'. Why?: 1)It is from an album from 1971 called 'Hunky Dory' which didn't break the top 50(it was 57 in the US) and I have never heard of it. 2) The actual song didn't break the top 500 US songs(mostly, I suspect, because it was not released as a single in the US). And 3) I have 7 Bowie songs on my own Master Playlist(of 2300+ songs) and this is not one of them(Space Oddity, Lets Dance, Suffregette City, Blue Jean, Blackstar, Fame & Under Pressure)[These selections orininally also included Dancing in the Street, but I replaced it with the original version by Martha and the Vandellas].

@@goodester6924 I am certain that this Deep Cut is relatively well known by hard-core Bowie fans, but how do 50M plays on Spotify mean that this is not a Deep Cut? What is your definition of a 'Deep Cut'? To date myself, back in the day, a Deep Cut was a song that got ZERO radio play, was not released as a single, and so the ony way you could hear it is if you bought the entire album.
