That's what I was thinking. I'm sure 15-20 years ago I had to have ran at least a few of 'em sitting down there rusting away. In a few years, the scrap yard will be full of CW44AC's.

I bet that semi hauling the scrap Aluminum was coming from Extrudex in North Jackson. Dropping off right there at Matalco.

Its funny knowing all of those dash 8s were breaking technology in the 90s now they Are just setting there rusting along with the others that they replaced.

dash 8 were not all that great. almost no ge locmotives ever get rebuilt. lots of emd locomotives get rebuilt. that is all you need to know

@@ironmatic1 Even Norfork southern the best at rebuilding Locomotives in the Us had a very hard time rebuilding GE locomotives. it ended up being a very big failure

Cool footage! 🤩 They have lots of cans there...a couple of those would be so nice to have for kids to really enjoy! Don’t blame Trump guys. Kinda surprising to see so many GE newer units there. There was A Time when EDM units would be pulling product for Decades. Now it’s not cost effected to run units more then 5or 10 years.
