Ohio DMV Motorcycle Written Test 2023 (60 Questions with Explained Answers) 

I took the Ohio BMV motorcycle exam at the Delaware county BMV office on the north side of Delaware, Ohio off of route 23. I took the exam on a Tuesday at 8:15am, and I was the first one taking an exam that morning. When you walk in, the BMV employee checks you in, asks you the basic questions about residence, suspensions, health, hearing, under the influence, etc. Then you take an eye test, just like for a regular drivers license. Then the employee assigns you to a desk to take the test. The test is electronic, on a touch monitor, with no keyboard. You are presented with a question, you touch the answer of your choosing, it asks you to confirm that is the answer you want (yes or no), and then the monitor tells you if you answered the question correctly or are wrong. There are 40 questions on the test and if you get 11 wrong, you fail. So you need to get 30 correct and it shows you the number of correct and wrong answers as you proceed through the questions. When I got 30 correct, the test stopped and the employee said I passed, so I did not have to answer all 40 questions. Then they tell you to go next door to stand in line for your temporary motorcycle permit. I had my picture taken again for that temporary license. They give you a printed copy of the temp license, and you will get a card in the mail a couple of weeks later. Note that the questions are part motor vehicle questions and part motorcycle questions. It seemed like a 50/50 mix. Some questions have diagrams or pictures that you look at to answer the question. The questions are all multiple choice with 4 choices. So make sure you study for the regular driving test along with the motorcycle manual. There were motorcycle questions that were not in this video. One in particular had a diagram of a motorcycle entering a highway. Some questions are tricky and you have to really think about the answers. On each question, that are 1-2 answers that are obviously wrong but you may find yourself debating on which of the remaining answers are correct. Don't sweat it too much since you only need to get 30 answers correct. You can skip questions if you want and answer them later. Good luck.

Question 48 says the middle part of a curve is called the entry but the explanation says the beginning part is called the entry. Pretty sure the correct answer is apex.

I just took my "written" test a couple of weeks ago. There's only 40 questions, not 60. You must get at least 30 right to pass, I got 36/40. Some of the questions are a little confusing so just take your time and think about them. You can also skip questions and save them for the end of the test if you're not sure. It's really pretty easy to pass. I would recommend taking the practice test online first although many of those questions don't even appear on the actual test.

I took the test yesterday and a majority of the questions I had were not shown or were much different, for Ohio 2023 test. Still good info but might want to consider studying other materials 👍🏼

The best part of the written test, for me at least, was how little it pertained to just motorcycles and, instead, was essentially just basic driving questions. I don't see a point in it if I already have a valid DL, but it was easy, so no big deal.

This test if great help but I encountered numerous questions about laws and blood alcohol questions that weren't addressed plus answers that are just poorly worded and confusing.

I failed my first test when doing practice tests and watching this video and the part 2 when I took the test after reading the motorcycle manual and passed this is no help just read the manual

Questions are basic. You need to add distance between vehicles and other riders,and movements between lanes and overcoming others. Also explain the whole push,pull,lean direction. I failed today by one question do to the lack of that material being neglected in this review.

The first question I find a very very offensive OMG did they just assume my gender, and by the way, there’s no difference between a male and a female. They really need to update these exams.😂😂😂😅😅😅

None of these questions are on the test. This video is out dated and incorrect. Find another source

So I just took my test and passed EASILY. This video helps to a minor degree, though, the failures I see here in the comments are the results of improper preparedness. Anyone complaining about failing should take accountability for their lack of studying.
