Just passed my test in Ohio at the seven hills location. The test is easy. It’s literally Two left turns, a right turn and the maneuverability. Just practice the maneuverability and you should be fine.

Omg I needed this 🥲🥺I’m on year 8 almost 9 since I turned 16 and I STILL do not have them. I have kids and cannot take them anywhere, I have to find rides everywhere I go and switch out car seats. I spent years afraid. These past 2 years I’ve been trying and maneuverability is messing with me SO BAD. I failed and have to now take a $275 class that I do not have the money for. So my parents have to help me with that and I’m still practicing so nervous to schedule another one scared of failing again and feeling earth shattering disappointment. Oh how badly I wish it was easy for me, seeing this comment though really helped me relate and gave me hope❤️

I feel you! I'm 32 and have a 2 year old son and I still don't drive the maneuverability is giving me anxiety. My friend is pushing me to just make an appointment and try it doesn't matter if I fail as long as I try it so I might have. 😅

I watched this over and over and took my test today and did amazing this really helped me thank you soooo much and to anyone about to take there’s don’t let that anxiety beat you you’ll do amazing just have faith in yourself
guys i failed my test but the good thing is if yall pass the cones yall don’t have to take it no more just the road test i failed the road test 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️ but you have to take a online course which is bs but everyone that lives in ohio just past the cones and everything else is easy. I failed because I turned on a no turn red traffic sign not paying attention 🤦🏿♂️ but at the end of the day just pass the cones i appreciate you for your videos helped me pass the cones.
Adding onto this, if your temps expire, you have to retake both portion regardless of if you passed one. Didn’t know this and wasn’t prepared for it and failed AGAIN.
I just passed my test first time today! I did maneuverability first and then a short drive in the neighborhood behind the bmv. I've been watching this channel for years as I've been learning how to drive, and I definitely think these videos played a part in helping me become a safe and smart driver. As annoying as it is, practicing the cones actually helped me reverse better, park better, and navigate the steering wheel while making sharp turns in small spaces. Good luck to everybody taking their test soon! Remember to breathe and practice until it becomes muscle memory. Then after you pass, you'll never have to worry about the test again!

My test is in 2 days... I haven’t been able to practice maneuverability that much this week because the location I go to for it has had others using the cones every time I’ve gone and also this is the first time I’ve heard about signaling during it😅 not going to lie I’m not feeling too confident but I’ll update this once I take it. UPDATE: I PASSED!!

i wanted to say thank you, this helped me pass my drivers test. i was stuck with maneuverability, and this video helped it all make sense, and ultimately helped me pass my drivers test with only minor deductions!!

Tip that might be easier. If your going left, once your mirrors hit those 2nd set of cones, turn your wheel all the way upside down left, then when the middle of your hood hits the last cone, all the way right upside down, then you will turn your wheel left to back out & right to straighten. & vs versa if your going right.

Makiya Hurley I did the maneuverability test first, and then I had to drive around the neighborhood for about 5 minutes max. It was pretty easy, just try to relax during it and you’ll do fine! The bmv I went to has been called the hardest testing place and it was pretty chill. Good luck!
I failed my first 2 attempts and passed my 3rd attempt. I had to practice it over and over like you said! Also turn signals are not required and you may use the backing camera and look out the window but using your mirrors are probably your best bet. To be honest this test made me a better driver overall.

I have my drivers test the 30th and I'm a really good driver, but I have a hard time doing this since I have dyslexia and my rights and lefts really mess me up. I'm not nervous for anything but this part of the test.

I have a few questions about my test in a week 1. Dis you actually have to turn signal in the maneuverability part of the test? (I’ve never heard that before) 2. Can you use your backup camera during the maneuverability part of he test?
@@amateurbuilds682 1. You do not have to use a turn signal, it is not required nor is it on the grading sheet. 2. You should reference your mirrors and make sure to look at them regardless, but I'm not sure if you're allowed to use the camera. A car with a camera is allowed though. Good luck! You got this

I really like this video and think it will help my son. This is our 3rd child to get their driver's license and we have one more to go! We live east of Cincinnati and our BMV says no turn signals and no cameras. Also, absolutely no stopping until you turn and are lined up with the top cone. It is one full swoop. Wish us luck, our son is 18 and very nervous! He tests in 3 weeks.
Hi Doug and Cindy - thank you for your comment my friend. I would counsel you to use the turn signals. You want to instil in new drivers to signal EVERY time they change direction of the vehicle. It makes drivers safer when they get out on the roadway. Too many drivers get into trouble because they fail to communicate effectively. Some examiners will cover the backup camera, yes. But the driver can check it and the mirrors - just don't use it as the primary line of sight. And stay tight to the driver's side. The passenger's side will take car of itself. Great video, thank you. Important to note that during the test, you cannot pause during the exercise. 2 point deduction for each time you pause in the middle of the exercise.
Sorry for the very late response. Thanks for that information. On the danger of hitting something and failing, I would say it's better to take the 2pt deduction. @@jaybeaux you can definitely pause if you want. It just takes two points off. That’s not a big deal when you can get 25., it’s better to pause than to run over a cone and instantly fail
I have failed my Ohio Maneuverability Test a total of three times. Under their rules it states that if you fail 4 times, you must restart the ENTIRE process over again. I have spent a countless number of hours practicing this test and even more on the road. So if you have any suggestions or advice for me before the big day on Tuesday that would be greatly appreciated. :)

@@Ricky_Evans1611 if you fail the first time (I just did 3 days ago :( ) the you have to wait a week. Same if you fail a second and/or third time. If you fail a fourth time you have to wait 6 months.

I hit a cone at the end of the maneuverability test. I failed. They made me pay for an adult online school because of it. People say to not beat yourself up about it but I feel really dumb. I'm not mad I failed. I'm mad that I had to pay for it.

Anybody reading this remember- USE YOUR MIRRORS for the backing up part, it’s so much easier once you learn to utilize your mirrors, the more you practice the easier it gets. For the on road just stay at a steady speed and don’t panic, it’s not all that hard especially with COVID and how the tests have gotten a million times easier. I took mine at Lisbon, very simple and had everything done in an hour (drivers test + getting my paper license.) Good luck to all the new drivers out there, nobody is perfect!

Your Children are Adorable! I loved the cone hits. Hi. You are my first video in search for the Ohio maneuverability test. Because of birthday shenanigans and Covid, I forgot to renew my licence. Now, I'm so far out I have to retest to get my license... Yeah. When I took the course in High School I had to parallel park, because I did well in the class I didn't have to do the drivers test, just the written. I've been concerned about this test and you have clearly and neatly alleviated my fears. Thank you.

I'm a driving instructor in the state of Ohio. I sometimes recommend your videos to my students who are still struggling with maneuverability with their last lesson. I do have a couple comments. If you fail your test in the state of Ohio, you do not have to take an online test before you take the maneuverability test again. It is required that the student wait 7 days to re-take. Some of your videos have additional maneuverability lessons that are very helpful but will not be on the exam. They are however the best way to teach the student which to turn the when in reverse. @@barbie_gaahl Call a DMV. I've made this statement before, and a lot of people are over the age of 18 who are questioning it. If you are under 18 years of age, you do not need to take an additional course, because you have already taken Driver's Education. If you are 18 or older, you were not required to take classes before your road test. Therefore, you MUST take an abbreviated class. The laws are not the same for a juvenile vs. adult.
Hopefully you can help me, my problem is you cant see through the tint on any of my windows. Will i have points taken off for not physically looking out my back windshield (i have back up camera)? And can you have windows rolled down during the driving exam, because you cant see the mirrors through the tint either…

Got my drivers test tomorrow. Backing up has me really nervous because I got so used to using a 360° overhead and backup camera to move and park. Its made it so much easier so this will be pretty nerve wracking. Wish me luck! Edit : Passed it pretty easily, thank you!

I have a drivers test today in Athens Ohio. I’m 25 but due to my father vanishing with my birth certificate I couldn’t get a new one made until recently so I had my permit and in the morning,I take the test. I will keep you posted! Megan Mitchell-Thomas I passed! Nicked a cone on the reverse part of the maneuverability test but I passed! The examiner doesn’t even get in the car due to covid so you need a licensed driver over 21. So I picked my gf. If she’s seen talking it’s an automatic fail. She would mumble under her mask if I got too close or something while the windows were up so he couldn’t hear lol. I hope you pass. I’m more than sure you will. The whole test is like 5 minutes
@@4leece depends on the course and where you go, some make you only go on the left side and some make you only go on the right side, practice both sides just in case.

I pass my driver test on may 27th of 2021 so im happy that i got my license now and i had a great instructor from the driving school that i attended and the videos helps too because i was watching a lot of videos and i still don't have a car yet it's hard for me to get one and nobody won't me but im still praying that God will bless me with a car because i really need one

I passed my road test but on my maneuvering test I failed, unfortunately I’m not sure if I have to take online courses since I passed 1/2 but I’m so glad I found this video so I can practice it

Does anyone know if you are allowed to look behind or to the side of you? I was under the impression that you can only utilize your mirrors. My driving test is this Saturday.

The one big thing I disagree with is automatically taking a smaller car. You should take your test in whatever you're most comfortable with and have practiced in the most. Also, you are not allowed to use your back up camera during your test on ohio. A grader will cover it. If you're under 18 you do not have to take another course if you fail.

I came across your video when I was searching for a good video for an example for a new driver. This test is done in a closed area at the BMV. Signals are not a requirement during this test and an unnecessary extra element added to an already difficult test. I also see you stopping to check progress in the course, this will result in a dedication of points on the test. The maneuverability test includes two steps: going forward and backwards through markers. Each step is to be completed in one continuous motion. The test administrator will deduct points if you stop to check progress, bump the markers, or misjudge the stopping distance. You will automatically fail if you run over or knock down a marker. Please amend your video. Thanks.
@Smart Drive Test it is on the score sheet, and the BMV will tell you that if you call. I check with them when I'm in question. We also teach that in driver's education. It's strange, since we stop to check progress when we parallel park. I guess they have to draw the line somewhere.

If you have a backup cam are you aloud to use it? I just Finnished the 8 hours with the instructor and when we did this she cover up her backup cam and I failed every time she did that but when she didn’t cover it I passed.

How exactly can you tell when your rear of the car is aligned with the nose cone? I am going to be trying to do the text hopefully next week and I can never really tell when the rear of my car is aligned with the nose cone.

Congrats!! Gonna take mine in two weeks. How long did your test take and did they make you parallel park? I drove by the location I'll be taking my test and everything looks so cramped in their tiny parking lot.
Seek and Revel I live in Ohio so no they did not make me parallel park they had a course set up with 2 stop signs and One yield sign they made me pull into a parking space get out and give my examiner my test sheet and them explain the course then had me go through the course , super easy (0 points off) follow that up by maneuverability and then sent me back to the bmv right away to get my license id say it took 15 minutes maximum
Can I go forward after passing the first to comes (when reversing) and I realize I’m gonna hit the back cone? Just to straighten myself. Is it allowed?
