ADDICTIVE!!! I could play it over and over!!! Horns, Organ, Tambourine locked, PIANO RIFF!!! Junie on the lead! Drummer tight, sax solo........ALL GOOD!!! Ive been glued to this cut thru my lifetime!
Many of us played it over and over because it was only a 2:27 minute teaser slow jam. The short time made us wanted more of the song😂😂😂 Smart move Ohio Players. Along with E,W,&F and War they were the top “Crossover Funk Bands” of the mid 70s.
Still doin the funky worm off this badd a** funky jamm here in Albany NY, where the Players worked out their act in 68-69, then “Pain” hit the charts and the rest is R&B history!
@@msonione1661 Huh? i thought the soundtrack for that movie was written and performed by Donny Hathaway. Plus 'Charleston' was released in 1972. This song was released in 1973.
Doesn't get much better than this. The initial note hold 39 seconds in... I'll never, never leave you, baby! Music may never be created like this again.
Everytime I see leave a comment,I say okay. You have to be a music lover to appreciate the sound . When I listen to this song I have to hit replay to hear it at least 2 more times. Do not judge me cause everyone has music they love. Came up in the 70 era. Ohio players, Isley bros, temps, sly and the family stone. What more can I say. Do not forget the boss Diana Ross.
This song is nothing other than a TURIE I had to hear it only once this 8.10.20 to be addicted to it Thank you for this long version because the original is really too short long live the funk and all its fans
I heard this song on the radio this week, and I had not heard it in years. This brings back such good memories, like it was another lifetime in a different dimension.
This song is DEFINITELY 🔥 FIRE!! I LOVE ME SOME OHIO PLAYERS. ONE OF MY FAV BANDS!! HANDS DOWN. I use to and still dance to this song. 70's Jam!! 🎉🎉🎉This is my SONG! LOVE IT ❤❤❤
I don’t think Billy was a member of the band as of yet. I think Junie was the keyboardist, pianist, organist and Billy was hired to take his place when Junie left the band.
You are correct Junie was still here. This was his last album with them. Diamond was subbing at this time but really in the band as well right now.@@andreacheney3593
@@fostermac7170 Yes, but with a different spelling and a different meaning to me. ; ) Joyful, Beautiful..During the time I named her it wasn't the name of a drug. : )
This man is one of the old schools that I've ever seen back in the day coming through come through them 70s and look ahead 80 ladies I am now 66 in boiling ahead this funk you're still the funk and they get here with the funky worm and skin tight and I'm going to tell you this kind of old school music never disappears it still lives on in the CDs Yonkers today don't know nothing about that they don't know nothing about that this is just old school at his best piece brother Leo from say towel
If you're not listening on a silver face receiver from the seventies, you're not gettin it. Speakers A and speakers B in the form of a crescent and you sittin in the middle.
63 and LOVING It. Give me the days when friends brought the albums to the party and EVERYONE HAD A RIGHTEOUS TIME NO FIGHTS WE ALL WENT HOME SAFE AND SMILIN 😊😂😅😊
The Ohio Players showcase several instruments in a masterful composition featuring powerful organ Virtuoso reminiscent of Jimmy Smith but playing funk proving the organ is a vicious keyboard instrument not taking a back seat to the piano or synthesizer electronic keyboard This group had the best album covers poster size The 70’s best music ever era
Im n a zone it just makes me forget about everything n puts me n another place n time u would have to live the era to understand how times were back then best years of my life wish time could had stood still 😢
While listening to my play list, I told the dancing thirty yr old this song was more than fifty years old, it made her dance harder and me laugh harder. Enjoy the enjoyable. She had it in a loud speaker.
They had 2 # 1 Pop hits in the mid 70s with “Fire” and “Love Rollercoaster”. No other funk band topped the pop charts in the mid 70s 2 times but the Ohio Players.
This song hit me at the age of 12 right away and now I see the great arrangement today in 2024 to make me appreciate it more than any of the pop stuff they did later on with Mercury although they had some classic dance and romance tunes with them as well.
This has got to be the ultimate jam session. The way this song builds up perfectly I don’t think they could ever recreate it. They lucky they got it on wax they way they did.
I still have this record from way, way back then. I was a Junior in high school when this came out. It was a hit at dances and parties. Aaahhh to turn back the hands of time.
