Jeremiah is where Marv was as a senior I loved Marvs's big play ability but his blocking and finishing the play was something to be desired. JJ will decimate anything any receiver at OSU has ever done even Egbuka's records if he stays healthy and plays to his full ability for 3-4 years and don't JSN his last year. JJ is special enjoy the ride!! O-H

He’s constantly comparing to UM in 23, without mentioning they were cheating the entire time since 2021. Except the teams they didn’t plan for, like TCU, who put up half a hundo on them in 22.

Michigan’s “cheating” absolutely did not them a leg up. Michigan has been better in the trenches etc. for 3 years. They designed a team to beat most of the SEC and soft big ten teams like OSU. Possess the ball, don’t let athletes on the field. OSU looks good but their defense has shown some weak points.

@@RKLIFE17yeah knowing when to stack the box, and when not to isnt an advantage. Neither is knowing the routes receivers are about to run.😂😂😂 I don’t think UofM needed to cheat to win it last year. But the multiple 1 possession wins over 3 years of cheating doesn’t give you a playoff spot the 2 previous years without cheating. Doubt that roster stays together for 2023.

OSU will have 2 games (maybe 3) that matter. At Oregon, At PSU and home for Michigan. Everything else should be a blow out. Talent level is off the charts across the board. Thought maybe their O-line was the weak point. Doesn't look like it. They are scary.

@@ltyler01 True, but that doesn't make it a weakness. UM just has a great line. Last year OSU's O-Line wasn't very good. PSU stopped their run game and got a lot of pressure on QB (still wasn't enough to win, because PSU's Offense was horrible). Held OSU to 20 in Columbus, which is pretty good which was because of their mediocre O-Line. I think they are bette this year, though I hate to say it.

Yeah Ohio State's OL is simply a weak link, it is a good OL nationally, just weak in comparison to the elite players they have at WR and RB. They are absolutely scary, and their athleticism on the perimeter will be hard to slow down.

Huge Penn State fan here, but OSU has beaten us every year since 2016. Until we beat them head to head, got to give it to Ohio State. I do think that we are the only real threat to them though.

@@billieg826 Not thrilled with Franklin myself, but it's tough to fire a coach that beats all of the teams he should and doesn't beat the teams he's not favored to win. The key is to get an upset once in a while. Hard to find a coach that wins 10 games most years. Have to be careful what you wish for.

Ohio State has so many offensive weapons and with Chip Kelly calling the plays i think the offense sets them apart from Penn State. Penn State would have to win with their defense and be able to limit Ohio State to low scoring to win I believe. But it's definitely possible. Ohio State has showed some weakness on defense, but i am thinking they will get it ironed out as they have pretty much all the same players from last year and more and so they should be able to adjust to what they were doing last year and I think they will

Yep, our offense was rolling in the first half, only thing stopping us was gifting red zone turnovers like it was Christmas. Although it doesn’t excuse how we came out in the second half playing completely un-inspired. Whoever gave the halftime speech needs some rehearsal

I hope that Jeremiah Smith keeps up with the work ethic and attitude. I really NEVER want to see him do a Heisman pose like we saw last night. I think that doing the pose will hurt Travis Hunter when the ballots are cast.

Travis Hunter, Jalen Milroe, or Ashton Jeanty should be the Heisman Winners based off of September's performances. I hope Smith continues with the work ethic and attitude he has, and I think he will. He already got tons of hype in the preseason, and it has not affected him one bit!

Osu is the better team. However Msu had opportunities on 4-5 key plays during the first half to make it a competitive game. They are just a year away from being able to capitalize on those chances as a whole.

Ohio State was coming off a bye you have to kind of put that factor in, MSU played hard but OSUs defense looked rusty to start and just began shut down mode. This Ohio state team can play any team in a trench fight. If OSU puts up 40 points on Iowa and destroy Oregon can we please stop doubting them lol 😂 Georgia literally struggled to Kentucky Alabama has had struggles as long as you pour the points on in the 2nd half or the middle 8 you win. Middle 8 is last 4mins of 2nd qrter and 4 mins of the 3rd, Alabama may have a good offense but that defense is a big red flag

@@collegefootballwithsamthat play defensively was executed flawlessly. The weak side corner coming down on the sprinting blitz timing the snap count, pressure was there, that ball was lobbed and Smith made a freak athletic play. Not a single thing to be mad about on that one.

The OSU defense needs to be more aggressive and be in the right position. Glad they caused some turnovers, but OSU messed up with turnovers Also

Overall I lost confidence in Ohio State last night. The deficiencies at LB are glaring at this point. The D-Line gets very little pass rush. Will Howard won’t throw the ball over 15 yards and can’t drop passes into tight windows. Eventually he’ll have to make real QB plays and when that happens the offense will sputter. :/

I agree on the LB concern but not on the DL. Tyleik Williams did not play and Knowles is calling safe bland defenses for now. I'd be shocked if the d line isn't great later on

Ekbuka is probably still WR1. He has played the last 3 games better than he ever has in his career including blocking. I do think Smith should be in the Heisman talk if he continues his Freshman year like he has. But he'll need 3 or 4 200 plus receiving yards games and I dont think any single WR will get over 200 passing yards this year.

Chip Kelly called a beautiful game. Msu went all out trying to stop the run and Chip used it against them. It's why they hit those 4th downs and the reverse for a td.

Defense is down compared to the rest of the team. They’re showing teams can cook us in the first half and we can’t have that. Like the Bama vs GA game this past Saturday, we can’t expect to come up from a huge deficit in the 2nd half every time we play someone with a pulse. Need the Defense to lock it in early for the momentum

They had 1 4th down td in the first half. The 2nd one was in the 2nd half and tbf they hit the perfect call on 3rd down to the TE for a big play but the TE slipped and fell on the wet field and dropped the ball. If he doesn't slip it's a 1st down and a lot more into the rz.

Disagree sam in previous years osu would've kept starters out there and made it look worse osu could've easily dropped 70. As for 4 and 5 not being sustainable It will be they converted those with absolute ease wide open and osu is still doing vanilla defense and playcalling. Osu has not been unleashed yet.

Smith is a great coach. Look at what he built at a much tougher place to win in Corvallis. Michigan State has resources that he never had at his alma mater. Chiles is a playmaker that is going to cause headaches, not just for his own team sometimes. I think the mistakes were made because of the opponent. Ohio State has elite athletes all over the field on both sides.

One of the areas I've seen Ohio State improve the most is definitely the offensive line. They were blocking well and they were protecting well on pass plays. And trevion Henderson as well as the wide receivers were helping a ton with blocking which every coach loves to see that and it helps tremendously

Im definitely concerned with the defensive scheming so far. they are playing soft coverage too much and it's not working. if not for the aggressiveness to strip the ball out a couple times, there would most likely have been more points scored by Michigan State. They need to go back to what they were doing last year because it was working really well. I have a feeling they'll probably get it together but it's definitely not looking as great as it was last year and it should be even better with all the returning talent and additions

Right now I would not declare Ohio State number one because of some of the defensive struggles but if they get the defense together and become a little more dominant in that area I think I would be confident in calling them number one

I’m not even going to lie, as a neutral party member, I think Ryan Williams has been slightly more impressive this season so far than Smith. And that’s not any slight on Smith (he’s lived up to the hype, probably exceeded it), it just goes to show you how incredible this true freshman WR class has been. Not to mention Ryan Wingo. Even Barney Jr. from my Huskers has been an absolute stud and had a highlight game against Purdue yesterday

I think that Bama has to rely on Williams more than OSU has to rely on Smith. Ohio State has more weapons so Williams will likely out stat JJ Smith. But Smith is special

OSU has 2 or 3 weaknesses to my eye. 1. LBs Styles, Hicks and Simon are not playing well. Reese is the 1 LB playing great. They miss Eichenburg (whos a pro now). 2. The o line is not dominant in run blocking. Quin and Trey are so fast they can make the run game stats look great but if you watch the line its somewhat concerning. 3. Igbinosun is giving up a lot of catches. Hes cb2 and wears #1. I wonder if Matthews is about to replace him. ---- Buckeyes look top 10, maybe top 5, but i dont think the o line would hold up against UGA or Alabama. Howard would be under lots of duress
