You guys are my favorite fan base in a southern team. Every Georgia fan I’ve spoken to has been kind. Every fan base has bad fans in pockets and OSU has plenty of them! But I will say LSU, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and others tend to be a bit more arrogant and tend to get too aggressive. Georgia fans got a true taste of what Ohio state can do last season in a game we should have won. Every Georgia fan that I’ve spoken to has been very respectful. I hope we get another crack at you guys. Good luck the rest of the way.
Met Ryan Day and the team last year when they played in Chicago. They all stuck around in the cold rain; signed autographs and talked to the fans till everyone was done
That was a really special experience! Meeting Ryan Day and the team and taking photos, signing autographs and chatting with them will definitely be an unforgettable moment. Their willingness to interact cordially with fans in the cold rain until everyone leaves satisfied shows how much they care and appreciate their fans. It's a pity that I was not there!
Buckeye Nation really needed this 'outburst' from him ! -- He's been almost too in control of his emotions publicly for many fans who want to see that kind of passion more often. A certain segment needed it and this went a long way toward their acceptance of him. Joel Klatt has a really good grip on the situation and brought it to light ! The players loved it too.
Couldn't of said it better, i like seeing a pissed off Day filled with emotional, actually shows the dude has some life to him. Let's hope this is the start of many good things to come.
This. I’ve not been a huge Day fan from the start. I wasn’t sure he had the passion for Ohio State, and I fully expected he’d be in the NFL by now. In fact, I predicted he’d be in the league and we’d have Fickell as HC. Now, I think that maybe he gets it. Now he needs to smack Harbaugh down and beat TTUN.
I've been a Buckeye fan for a very long time and it is always been Ohio versus the world Only people who ike Ohio State are Ohio State fans / Buckeye Nation across the world. Continue on Ryan and Buckeyes that was an awesome game and looking forward to the rest of the season OH!
Love the michigan trolls here. Tells me they are scared. You know ohio state doesn't go around talking shit to Indiana. Don't need to. Michigan fans "we are gona say ohio state is a low tier program that we can't stop thinking about, talking about, watching videos about, and learning about." just admit it. you love ohio state and they are your favorite team thats why they take priority number one in your mind and heart over UM.
"Buckeye Nation" is so proud of Coach Day, he's behind his team and we're behind Coach Day all the way. Yep, OSU is hated across the landscape and Buckeye Nation wouldn't have it any other way! Bring it on! By the way his 5 year win percent is .890!
There is indeed some irony in that statement. Harbaugh and Day are both successful coaches with exceptional coaching talents and a big-picture perspective. But in the highly competitive world of sports, such comments are not surprising.
That’s a good question, I’m a diehard buckeye fan and I’m on the fence about it.3 in a row would be a tough pill to swallow but if he wins all the other games and makes it into the CFP again it would be hard to let him go because who you gonna get to replace him? He’s 17-6 vs top 10 opponents at Ohio state, not bad but I would say if he loses this year and then again the following year at home he would be out unless he won all the other games and a national title.
Buckeye fan forever forever sometimes I think Too much is put on that game. Now if he loses to the team up north and they're not In the top 20 five, now that's a problem. Say what you want about coach day. He don't have a bad loss he hasn't lost to anybody. That's not in the top ten I'm still with coach day
@@frankpropri540 exactly. I’ve lived here a majority of my life, basically grew up hanging out on high street and I’ve never once said “we should fire Ryan Day”. Idk where people come to that conclusion. Yeah losing to ttun is absolutely horrible, but the man has lost 6 games. Total. Like that’s nuts
Passion and protection of his players. He is s great coach. It doesn't matter if people don't like him. Buckeye nation loves and respects him. So do his players
You're right, Woody Hayes and Ryan Day are two very different coaches. While they both coached at Ohio State and had great success, they have many differences in style, personality, and approach to coaching. One is a legendary coach and the other is a relatively young coach with modern coaching concepts.
Haha, your sense of humor is hilarious! In fact, when the game was over, it was hilarious to see how poorly Lou took his defeat! Of course, it was just a joke and not meant to express any ill will towards him.
ohix beats an overated ND team and now they are tough haha day acts like a weirdo after the win and you guys are in love. Enjoy the honeymoon, because it's going to be over soon lol
@@James-mm6jhhoneymoon? We’ve been going strong for over a century. 49-6 in the day era and always getting recruiting classes in the top 3 at least. We ain’t going away anytime soon buddy sorry to disappoint
I am surprised that Lou would have said that smack talk about buckeye program. He should look at stats over the last 20-25 years. Ohio state has won more games and has best winning percentage than I think any other school including Alabama and second in all time wins. Notre Dame has done little in comparison and hasn't won title since 88 Just saying
Big Buckeye fan here! Dad grew up in Lancaster, Ohio! I’m 64, been a diehard fan for a very long time, at least since 1968, when Rex Kern, from my dad’s high school, called the super sophomores, beat OJ Simpson in the Rose Bowl to win the National Championship! Your right! Ohio State has the highest winning percentage all-time in college football, and is tied for 2nd in total wins behind that sorry Michigan team, coached by that nut case Jim Harbaugh! 🌰🏈
@ld4974 Everyone has said what lou Holtz has been saying about Ohio State for 2 years. At some point, you have to have your players' backs. Also fuck his old ass, he shouldn't of took shots at him
Lou is about as upset that the way OSU has gone as i am. I left when Drake wanted to redesign OSU at the expense of Earl Bruces Tribute. So no.....thanks. I was at the 97 Rose Bowl as a Buckeye fan.
The 1997 Rose Bowl was a memorable game and one of the great wins for the Ohio State Buckeyes. I remember this game, the Buckeyes were playing the Arizona State Sun Devils.
The problem is this… A). Holtz comments (on Ohio State) were 100% spot-on….and B). Day not only made himself look like a fool talking about toughness with a quivering lip, but on top of it Ohio State lost that game (for all the reasons Holtz mentioned), until the ver last second. *And, the worst part, is that that tough/physical offensive line, needed ND to GALACTICALLY f#**#k**-up and only put 10 guys on the field, so OSU could win by 4 inches.* And, had ND had the 11th man on the field(who would’ve been in the exact spot where the ball touched the goal line), then it would’ve made twice that OSU’s OL couldn’t get enough of a push at the goal line to score. THAT’S what Ryan Day calls a “tough/physical performance”, with a quivering lip? Never mind the fact that millions of other fans/alumni/coaches/commentators have said EXACTLY what Lou Holtz said…. Ryan Day is about to find out, that Lou Holtz is the LEAST of his problems. When he loses to Penn St, and TTUN (possibly more)…Lou Holtz is going to pop-up and say “I’m right here Day, and you’re team is EXACTLY who we thought you were.” And, Day will most-likely have to hear it as an unemployed coach. *By the end of this season, Ryan Day will be the first Ohio State coach in almost 30yrs who will have a losing record against TTUN, and no national championships, with teams that have had among the most talent in college football. If Day wants to be angry at someone….he needs to look in the mirror.*
Lol, soap box much. It's about being humble, having humility, and knowing when to speak up for your crew. I can tell you have life lessons to learn. He would have e said it even if they lost. Because Lou is still just someone who is talking. Talk talk......
Exactly, and Lou Holtz isn't a ND coach anymore, so he can say what he wants to say. He's in his 80's, and has won a National Championship. Day is very sensitive if that comment got to him. Ohio did a good job beating the most overrated program in the 🇺🇸 with 10 guys on the field. Good luck to them this year...they're gonna need it
Yeah but if ND had won then the 10 people talk would’ve still been there. It was a great game… Game of the year. Once a buckeye, always a buckeye may be Marcus Freeman, and his assistance should all be question.
Come October 21st, when my Nittany Lions come to Columbus and spank their asses, this cry baby 👶 won't have any excuses!!!!! WE ARE And, don't say I didn't warn you!!!!
I don’t understand why if they lose to Michigan again that Day should be fired. Who else are the Buckeyes gonna get that’s gonna be any better? Sure he doesn’t have a natty but it’s his fifth year. He’s a good coach( maybe not a great play caller). I just don’t understand the narrative of him being gone after the year of he loses to Michigan or if they don’t win a natty
Shut up And leave Ohio State alone And worry about your dumb team. Unlike your team, my team that ride And die for they beat a top 10 team. What did your team been doing ?? that’s what my Question too you.
He shouldn't. That's the unhinged part of the fanbase talking. And even if he was fired, who you going to hire to replace him? The man has literally lost SIX games over 5 years as head coach. FOUR of them were in the post season during playoffs. Do you think ANY candidate would want to come here if he was literally told "you have to win every single game and win a natty every year, or we're going to fire you"?
Il help you with that. Ohio state once had a coach named Cooper who could beat every team except the team up North. You don't beat them you won't win a championship it's simple them or us in the big ten. Losing to them means losing championships and Buckeye Nation can't have that again Ever no matter how much I even like coach Day
Bad seeds and downers (of any age) should focus more of being positive and less on attacking and questioning others. A certain curmudgeon who's desperate for attention right now should take note.👍
To all the Michigan trolls here … you guys have 2 wins vs us in the last decade let that sink in can’t win em all but do more winning then losing 😂😂💯 you guys should also try winning a playoff game instead of eat sleeping and breathing Ohio state we live rent free in yas head 💪🏽
Same fans that called for this mans head as a 45-5 coach because he lost twice to Michigan.. we'll see how much love they have for him after a few more Ls Buckeye fans remind me of Veruca Salt.
I don’t disagree with Lou. What is days biggest win. Before this. I think they got lucky myself. McCord doesn’t look good for 3rd year. Just the facts. I’m a huge fan. Was hairball right about 3 rd base. This is the season to tell isn’t it. Penn and Michigan are strong this year. I don’t like hairball one bitcoin.
After that hang 100 on us, its been all bad. Just like Hart calling MSU little brother. OSU fans about to learn what losing us like. 2 years ago we played bully ball. Last year, OSU had CJ, Heisman runner up, home field, great weather, and our pass game wasnt good. Notre Dame had bonehead coaching and stopped running. We wont. Any giving day but i cant see how OSU can beat us. Unless they get tougher on both sides of the ball and QB plays like Joe Burrow's last year at LSU.
I hope Ohio St. never schedules ND again. ND used to be a storied program. Not any more. Just a bunch of disrespectful wannabes. Lou Holtz is an old fool who embarrassed their program. Let's see if ND will do anything about it.
We ride and die together Coach screw em screw HOLTZ and all other opps they with us or against.. Let's go guys play very fast sound D and make some plays and take care of the Ball on offense plz take care of business
Nd let's teams hang around. They were in the Red zone multiple times and coulda been up 24-0 in that game. Yes OSU won but they we're very very fortunate to get out of South bend with a W. The best team doesn't always win. If they meet in a rematch bowl game nd will be favored
Can someone explain to me why their stadium is called Ohio stadium, their fans spell out ohio, their band spells out ohio, and their coach says ohio. Yet, they are technically Ohio STATE. That would be like Michigan State calling their stadium Michigan stadium, their fans spelling Michigan, and their coach calling them Michigan. It makes no sense. Are they the ohio buckeyes, or ohio state buckeyes?
I love the sly slant towards Lou, and his Irish. "We've got bigger fish to fry." For the record, Lou wasn't completely wrong. Ohio State has lost due to a mental toughness. It's not about talent, Ohio State should have beaten the Irish by double digits. If you've seen Stroud so far in the NFL, they should have beaten Michigan last year. But it's gonna be a dogfight again this year. Is Ohio State tough enough to impose their style of play? They didn't against Notre Dame.
If there was ever a year to catch OSU and catch them early it was this year. With a green qb and 3 green oline man and Notre Dame failed to do that with a 37 yr old all time qb and home field advantage. This team will probably get stronger as they grow and get experience. Time will tell
Don’t worry jagoff - we will! Remember something boy ND 11 claimed national championships/ 11 unclaimed national championships-22 total: Ohio State has 8- you’ve Been better the last 20 years so STFU! What bothers you jerky FKS is you know we are back and about to at very least split with you bucknutts! Get ready boy because we aren’t coming we are here! Took a fkn miracle to beat us but you act like you are sooooo much better- yo mama boyyyy
Lou Holtz isn't objective or unbiased. If Notre Dame was 0-10 playing the 2004 New England Patriots he'd say they'd win on college game Day. It's bad enough that he speaks like he's got his mouthpiece in sideways. Glad Ryan Day threw out those jabs.
Also, the year y’all won it with Zeke, the committee put them in over TCU and Baylor, strictly because they get love from the media and committee. Yea y’all ended up winning it, thanks to special treatment from the committee that lots of other teams wouldn’t have gotten. Y’all are delusional if you think it’s YOU against the world. Last year you got in after getting thumped by Michigan again. Favoritism toward Ohio St if anything.
pllllllllllllleeeeeaaaaassssse.... georgia got LUCKY that the refs were paid off and reversed a clear personal foul/targeting call. and OSU still should have won.
Way to prep him for the question. I’m a natural born hater, but I will be rooting for anyone playing the Buckeyes more than I normally would. Dude has no class. Lou spoke highly of Day and Day is just a bi+$h
NONE OF YOU ARE ALLOWED BACK ON THE BANDWAGON AFTER OHIO LOSES. I've never met such off again on again bandwagon fans in my life as i have now with ohix fans. I though msu fans were lame lol
Somebody might want to remind Clay => that Woody’s emotions got the better of him => and it led to Coach Hayes punching a Clemson player and getting fired. Day’s players…..and wife…..and Clay => should ask Ryan to get his blood pressure checked and/or to stay on top of his meds. Urban popped a gasket a couple of times => so shouldn’t somebody be a little more proactive ? It won’t be Gene Smith => he never did care much about anyone but Gene and his eyes are already on the door
@@4cardpoker Yes => it’s Dom Tiberi. Let’s get him and Clay Hall and anyone who remembers what happened to Woody and Tressel and Urban => that they got themselves into situations they couldn’t cope with => and got fired or suspended or ended up with health issues they couldn’t resolve on their own. Look, we already know Day’s father had issues => no one believes his issues were resolved properly => correct? Will everyone just sit idly by and watch it happen to Ryan Day ? He has a family He has all the money he’ll ever need Why not get him some help before it goes further south ? All of the outcomes so far => for Woody and Tress and Urban => should be unacceptable. Shouldn’t Ohio State and our media and Buckeye Nation want a better ending for Ryan Day ?
Can we all agree Norte Dame needs to not have the extra say they do..... I mean saw an article that reminded me of it the other day talking about a possible change to the CFP and the story said it was unlikely because they needed all the CFP committee and 10 commissioners...... and the ND athletic director to all vote yes to get it done. It should have read all that and then ended with and ND can agree or go eat shit out of a bucket if the church wants to keep their independent status to siphon all that money to the PDFs in Italy.
Ill watch OSU maybe again, after this outa stater loses too many times to ttun, and can find ANOTHER OHIO BORN COACH MEANT FOR THE ROLE WHO CAN WHIP TTUN
