i just did this job on my damper and if you don't have the correct tools its tricky but doable you can use a small piece of clear rubber tube to hold the adjuster, spring, and two balls, in place as you drop it in place in to the damper body just keep pressure on it as you start to turn the threads, also a large pair of circlip pliers undoes easily the end caps , and to remove the circlip i used a bent pin i used the sharp point to lift up the end of the clip then rolled the pin underneath allowing me to then twist and remove the circlip with needled nose pliers with out damage also take along time to put oil in and make sure there are zero air bubbles or there will be a certain amount of play
