7:19 That was the original idea by Valve. There is a presentation online about it. I remember them showing an Awp Asimov showing it from brand new and getting Battle Scared after like 200 hours or something like that.
Yeah I think the Metal Tree Door is worth more than it's Steam listing price too. If Rust had ware conditions, patterns and floats they would be the same outrageous prices by nature. Rust just isn't as predatory against their player base to implement RNG factors on top of RNG factors, on top of RNG factors, on top of RNG factors upon the original RNG roll.
they have value because they have a sense of scarcity, there is only 900 million skins. thats not much when you consider that blues should make up 80% of that (skins that are, normally, not even close to have a worth) of which only 4,5% of the 900 million have good value (pinks to kinfes counting the statracks) which means only: 40.5 million skins have value that is not inflated by time or rare cases (aka spitfire, howls, etc.,blahblahblah).
2:45 Rocket League doesn't have floats nor patterns on their items, but, on the other hand, them have paints and certifications. In fact, each of the skins that are elegible for these attributes have about 200 different variations. It's not close to how many variations there are for CS:GO, but it's still not "just an item". On the other hand, the chances of getting a painted item is 1 out of 4, and for certified items it's also 1 out of 4. That means, an specific item, in an specific paint, and an speficic certification, is as rare as 1 out of 3200 unboxed/traded up to. That makes certain items extremely rare and pricey, when the paint and certification is sought after.
i bet a lot of people are doing arbitrage because of the prices differences between the different skins plateform. Imagine doing that as a leaving the dream.
the reason why no other game has a skin economy like csgo is because for it to work they have to use a luck based system which encourages gambling to younger audiences or get a higher age range rating on ESRB encouraging adults not to let younger people get a hold of the game in turn creating less revenue for the company whereas in games like valorant fortnite etc. they can release a shop and not have it labeled as gambling so they get a lower ESRB rating and you don't have the risk of loosing crazy amounts of money with a few clicks. (there are a few other factors but fck explaining that)
It’s funny cause I saw some guys comment in the live chat saying “rusts most expensive skin is like 100” when rust has skins valued in the thousands, obviously not to csgos extent but definitely really really high
Back in the day I had a P2000 Silver in FN, and MW was more expensive, so i went on casual and sprayed my mags in the wall just to make some cash. I got rich
I love how you can spend 80 bucks on valorant to get a sick ass karambit or butterfly knife that have animations but you have to pay 500 plus for a shitty rusty dirty one in CS… please get rid of the market or make skins more obtainable
@@tylerricker230 at least you can sell cs skins if you quit the game, in gaylorant your skins are worth nothing, you waste money while wasting time, I wonder why do you even compare those games, they're not even close as quality
you wanted rare lol skins? i am one of the few players who owns every single skin that you can have :) and yes, all pax skins and riot skins too. even silver kayle, black alistar etc lol
"no games economy comes even close to csgo" did this guy do ANY reasearch?? TF2, Dota, WOW, PUBG(not so much anymore), Rust, rocker league, and many more have huge economies, that are still thriving to this day like what??? probably just said it for shock value or whatever but bro's wrong asl
