I would recommend Amin look up Ohtani's rookie of the year speech, people who pay attention to baseball know he can speak english already. If I recall correctly during that bit of controversy Stephen A caused a couple years ago Shohei stated that he uses an interpreter primarily so his fans back home don't have to have subtitles on his interviews.

When asked "When you stopped doing your leg kick, did you lose power?", he answered "Spring Training" because he understood the question as "When did you stop doing your leg kick?". He got there once the question was rephrased, but English is a confusing language and he wants to avoid errors like that.

Who was Babe Ruth playing against? The fastest, the fastest fastball in the league was 91. Even middle relievers these days are throwing gas. Ohtani is way better than Babe Ruth ever was and at least as good, if not better, relative to his peers.

Dan LaBatard doesn't know what he's talking about, because he doesn't follow Angels games. There is nothing "robotic" about Ohtani. He is charismatic and goofy around his teammates. LeBatard is making assumption about what he heard about stereotypical Japanese people. All you have to do is to watch videos of Ohtani's reactions after he hits a home run or strike someone out in a big inning. He is as pumped up as anyone else.
