Oiceoptoma Thoracicum - the Red-breasted Carrion Beetle 

Nature - Wild Life - Insect Life - The species may be found in a wide variety of habitats from open moorland, dunes, woodland and scrub, In Europe, Siberia, Russia, China, South Korea and Japan. Is absent in North Africa. Adults are very good at detecting new carrion, they could fly over long distances to colonize it, they are active by day and at night. Adults occur year-round and are active from April until September. They measure 10 to 16 mm in length.
