Just got back from an event held in New Mexico. Great brotherhood, music, Rides and food. Except one day of riding we got poured on with rain. Once I returned, the next day I decided to wash my Challenger and change the oil. The oil was not due for another 800 miles, but I do not rely on mileage, but rather my elements of temperatures and riding. Ok, wondering what went wrong...the drain plug uses a 6mm allen or socket wrench and due to its material "aluminum" it can easily stripp out. This was the dilemma and instead of putting back the same plug, and causing even more of an issue next time, I decided to put a new $17.99 drain plug and drive 234 miles round trip (dam gas prices). Its all together and ready for my next adventure.

Using that T40 is what ruined your plug. It’s a 6mm Allen. I recommend using an Allen without the ball. The ball on the Allen can damage a fastener over time.

Agree, I used the regular 6mm first, thereafter the need to remove the plug was the Challenge and used others. Now with the new drain plug and next oil change the regular 6mm allen will be used.👍🏽

Thats why i dont like taking my bike into the shop for preventive maintenance they always over tighten shit...that and besides the cost...

I think you did an excellent job making this video. Very thorough. Good lighting. Etc. On my 2021 Chieftain DH. I just have Indian of Redlands California do all of the service. And upgrades. Etc. So they are responsible for anything that could happen. So far it's been amazing.

The bike looks clean bro. So the drain plug was stripped. You have an extra O ring now. Lol Good Job 👍

I had the same issue. Soft metal sucks. I picked up 2 spares. Also I only use AMSOIL.😂

Maybe one of thos uni jointed extensions on your socket wrench next time, so you can get proper deep fitment of the alien key into the filter bolt? 🇦🇺

Those are Indian Mid rise bars. Got these bars when I purchased the challenger, because first year bike had NO aftermarket bars at the time. They’re ok, but I would now shop around for a better fit. They’re a bit off for my wrist and would prefer a different angle. Let me know what you have.
